  1. Loved the way N'Diaye engaged in some shoving with him, put in a cheeky late challenge to try and knock him about... of course, to no avail. Untouchable at the moment.

    John Terry

Best performance in a Villa shirt I think. Read everything, stopped everything, controlled the backline brilliantly.
  3. Possibly man of the match tonight for me. One moment in the first half where he was caught out positionally and Douglas got in behind but, other than that, I thought he was superb.
  4. Excellent performance tonight. A couple of times he was way, way too selfish but the rest of his game more than made up for it. He played the lone man role almost perfectly and gave Batth a horrid time.
  5. That almighty toe poke shall forever live in memory - THOR'S HAMMER!

    Wolves

Turns out that Wolves are just a bunch of dirty, cynical bastards then. I expected much more from them.
  7. Man Utd plus ref 2-1 Liverpool. Decent game to be fair, Liverpool pretty unlucky.

    U.S. Politics

It has been put out by a terror organisation - that's all the NRA are, let's be frank. Why the **** do people love guns so much? The World isn't right.

Personally, I think this is just the way football is these days. Before Xia came to us, a lot of fans were hoping for an oil rich owner such as those at Man City so we could just buy our way up the leagues. No-one really cares for sustainability or development these days - it’s all about instantaneous gratification. That is true of our authorities too. I think Wolves’ setup is dodgy, but so what? I think many other football clubs have dodgy setups too. Hell, The F.A. are even smooching up to the Qatari authorities. Money rules, **** everything else. That’s English Football these days. If you’re a poor club that no-one cares about, you’ll get **** over (see: Luton and relegation plus fine plus 30 point deduction). If you have influence/power/money, you’ll be fine. So, fair play to Wolves. Their soul is owned by Jorge Mendes. But they’ll win the Championship and get into the money league. And that’s all we all want, for whatever reason. We all want to be a soulless football club fighting for 7th place in the Premier League.

Leeds are odd. They're a decent side on paper and looked really good earlier in the season but have completely tailed off. That said, their recent run of fixtures has been horrible: Brentford (H) - Won 1-0 Derby (A) - Drew 2-2 Bristol City (H) - Drew 2-2 Sheff Utd (A) - Lost 2-1 Cardiff (H) - Lost 4-1 Boro (A) - Lost 3-0 ...with horrible results, too. Wolves are in as poor form as they've been all season and haven't won any of their last 4 away games... but they'll be too strong for Leeds (unfortunately).
  11. The idea that we need to borrow... ...is it the hot tub for fans, or the all-white kit to be used when it snows?
  12. Huge risk playing him at all this season given he's missed pretty much all of it. I'd probably bring him back into the first team if/when we're either guaranteed automatic promotion or guaranteed to miss out on automatic promotion. We definitely miss him, though.
  13. It's gotten to the stage, for me, that I think we get promoted if Grealish stays fit but will fail to if he picks up more injuries. The difference he makes is unreal. Absolute baller - way too good for the Championship.

    Carles Gil

I've no real problem giving youngsters long contracts tbh - if they develop well, you get a good player signed up for a while. If they don't, they're typically "cheap". I doubt we will have spent as much on Carles Gil's wages as we have on John Terry's* - despite Gil having a 4 and a half year deal and Terry having a 1 year deal. * - Assuming the rumoured £100k/wk for Terry is correct
  15. Hogan works well (or "best") with Grealish, absolutely. It was a shame that Grealish came on for Hogan against Sunderland in a way, as the runs Grealish made through the middle are exactly the type that Hogan thrived off at Brentford - midfielder drives with ball, finds Hogan, Hogan scores. That's almost his entire game. I thought we were pretty poor against Sunderland tbh and, particularly in the first half, there was a lot of long ball stuff being played. Hogan just doesn't work with that. If we're going to continue in such a manner, then Grabban/Davis have to be the partnership up top.

Think you’re doing a bit of a disservice to 2 if Portugal’s brightest prospects there mate! No-one had heard of them?!?

"The fit-and-proper-person test or director's test is a test aiming to prevent corrupt or untrustworthy businessmen from serving on the board of certain organizations" (Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fit-and-proper-person_test) Mendes advised your current owners to buy the club, then facilitated the appointment of your manager and the purchase of several players - all of who he is the agent for. I'm not saying Wolves necessarily would "fall down", but it is quite clearly a set up that may well involve a corrupt and/or untrustworthy businessman having far too much influence.
  18. As things stand: Ronaldo - 896 appearances, 638 goals, 204 assists Messi - 747 appearances, 600 goals, 246 assists They are both **** ridiculous.

It's not purely an FFP issue in terms of spending. Rumours are that if/when promoted, Wolves would be subject to the "fit and proper owners" test and the Premier League aren't happy. I have no idea what the hell happens if the Premier League "block" a promotion. Would be hilarious, though

    Arsenal

Their club is in decline and they're 13 points away from the top 4 at the moment. Every fan wants to see their club push on and/or see some improvement season on season. When there's an obvious dip, people call for change. Arsenal have lost 4 games in a row for the first time since 2002, during which they were humiliated in the League Cup final. Any fight has gone. They haven't replaced Patrick Vieira with a proper defensive midfielder nor resolved their centre back problem, yet have spunked something like £100m on Lacazette and Aubameyang. I quite like Wenger (aside from his post-match interviews) and think he has done wonders for the English game. However, it's so clear his time is up. The players aren't fighting for him and he's being too stubborn in his approach. I don't think he'll be sacked, but I fully expect a retirement/resignation from him at the end of the season.
  21. I think Monk is a decent appointment for them, personally. The 3 and a half year deal is a bit odd, though!
