  1. If we can not concede for first 20-25 the fans will start turning. If we can do this I think we may win. 2-1.
  2. And it begins! Caught Offside reporting that Wenger wants Bacuna signed up in the Summer. £10m please mate I hope this doesn't happen.
  3. The link has a video of the press conference from the Malaysian transport minister.
  4. Post a link to this info from them please? Or is it just rumour? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2584399/Malaysia-confirms-new-radar-data-missing-plane-flying-country-wont-say-security-reasons.html
  5. Malaysia says have 'new radar data' showing the plane over a country but not at liberty to say where. The plot thickens.
  6. Agree. Is there the possibility that it was in fact shot down by Malaysian Army/Navy who had the radar signals? An unidentified aircraft who was unresponsive flying over. May have thought it was a drone. Get people searching for almost a week in the wrong location, giving debris time to scatter? Even writing this I know I sound like a crackpot conspiracy theorist but at this stage anything could have happened.
  7. I would agree but Rodgers had him at Reading...took him to swansea...tried to get him at Liverpool previously so Rodgers must rate him. But I do agree that currently he would have difficulty getting in at the moment.
  8. This is probably the most important thing, I'm guessing he was signed up during Houllier's reign? If so he must be on somewhere between £20-25k pw, and he hasn't done anything to deserve £25k+ imo, which is most likely what he'd ask for if he asked for an increase and the club probably think the same if he's not starting every week. Even if Albrighton wanted the same wages, I'd imagine the club would try barter him down a bit. 20k would not suprise me. From what I remember he had a good start under Mcdonald and was a regular when Houllier joined so to sign the "the next David Beckham" for 20k wouldn't shock me.
  9. Think he would be good but this would suggest he is on around 55k a week. Would we be willing to match or improve that? http://www.tsmplug.com/football/tottenham-player-salaries-2014/ Admittedly it doesnt give the source so they may be wrong but seems about right. I looked at the Villa one and seem to be what I expect players to be on, apart from those who were given a new contract...Benteke etc. If we would pay sigurddson that would love him here, but can see him going to Liverpool to be with his old mate Brendan Rodgers.
  10. I cant imagine too many Chelsea supporters know any football history pre 2003.
  11. From Garth Crooks (BBC) Team of the week. As much as I hate Garth Crooks' punditry he is one of the only ones who has said Villa deserved the win. I also hate this 'Villa beat 9 men Chelsea.' They had 9 men for all of two minutes. 11 v 11 we had the better chances. Little possession yes but what do you expect against a team top of the league.
  12. Wasn't this just him repeating what nourinho said about him in the reverse fixture? Very similar, nice to see that Lambert has a good sense of humour. http://m.huffpost.com/uk/entry/3793636
  13. Couldn't disagree with you more about Bacuna. Only once did he let Hazard, player of the season barring Suarez, turn him. Hazard had such a quiet game and in large I think that was down to Bacuna
  14. Brilliant photo! This would be a great photo for one of those spot the ball competition. Was sat in the North stand and it seemed to take an eternity for that ball to hit the net. Best atmosphere of the season. Would like to give a shout out to the travelling belgains (all 200 or so of them) sat at the top of the North. Incredible support by them, and the only think that would have made last night better would have been to see their reaction to a benteke goal.
  15. Delph taking all the plaudits and right so, but I thought Benteke was back to his beastly best. I lost count of the amount of headers he won against Cahill and Terry, the two defenders who were prasied so highly by the media for stopping the attacking threat away to Man City. His knock downs to wiemann were great, when we had a couple minutes left to hold on he was composed playing passes and flicks to men in space, made space for a couple of good efforts. Overall thought he was brilliant.
  16. I disagree. I thought Gabby did well last night when he was on. He was pickong up the ball and driving at defenders. Personally I'd stick with the same team to start but with Bertrand back, which is a shame for Bennet because he played his best game last night (even if he should have been sent off) but Bertrand is a class above. Stoke are in good form but a stat I heard last night 27 of their 34 points have come at home.
  17. For what it's worth I think he did it, premeditated murder. However I also think he will be found not guilty. The defence barrister is much stronger than the prosecution and some of his cross examination has been excellent. We have to bare in mind also that currently we have only had the prosecution evidence, with cross examination, so we have only had one side thus far. The defence will say investigations have not been done correctly, police reports cant be relied on...etc.
  18. I think having man city away as close to the end of the season is a good thing(if safety is confirmed). If we played them last weekend lost hy a heavy margin then had to play chelsea this weekend, potentially lose by a heavy margin, morale will be low agead of crucial games. Now chelsea is an isolated match where players can go out with little pressure.
  19. "Can you hear the drums, Leandro?" (He's already got a built-in chant, "Bacuna Matata") Our best hope for this game is that Chelsea shows up overconfident and complacent, like City did earlier in the season. Even then I think our best hope is to sneak a draw. His name is Leo and dances down the right.
  20. Didn't this also happen under AVB? Edit: Should have read all the responses first.
  21. McGath at Fulham I just dont understand. If his reported training policy is correct (intensive training) this will surely have a negative impact at this point in the season. Getting tired players to train harder to improve fitness now wont work. I would have understood had he had a pre season, at this stage of the season seems counter intuitive.
  22. After Benteke's masterclass in how to control a ball on your chest and volley, I thought it would be a good chance to get this thread going. Be it an Angel header, a Dwight Yorke overhead kick, a Tony Daley dribble, which has been the goal that sticks in the memory?
  23. Go on the tube for 20 minutes...I'm thinking of getting back on.
  24. Just had lunch. I am now full.
  25. Just done mine. I made a delightful cup of tea. Got some biscuits and enjoyed it. Much more enjoyable.
