  1. Frimpong sent off 31 minutes into debut...says it all.
  2. Commentator may be more bias than niall quinn in the manchester derby.
  3. Just placed my bet. Benteke first scorer villa 3-1. Come on villa.
  4. Always rated Ledley as a championship player. Not sure if he could do it in the premiership consistently
  5. First done deal. Crewe have signed non league John Johnson from leek town. Not sure if that will be topped today
  6. Thought it would be easier to have one page dedicated soley to our favourite day of the year. Man City have been linked with two porto players, fernando and mangala. Man utd linked with andros townsend with nani leaving on loan. Fulham linked with a whole host of players. And West ham linked with yet another italian it looks like it could be a good one today. Still little news for the villa but here's hoping for surprises.
  7. Richard I wad thinking similar last night. Under a new manager you tend to see a team pick up. I would say the opposite has happened. They did not look a very good team last night and only managed to score through a wonder goal, own goal and a piece of sloppy defending. I'd be worried if I were a baggies fan, boing-ing all the way to the championship.
  8. 8 points clear from relegation. Considering thats just under half of the total points gained by west ham so far then I think we should be safe. Think between 10th and 14th.
  9. Vlaar - best 20 minutes we've seen from a defender in many a year. Delph - ran the show. Wiemann - great start up top, clearly his best position. overall - great game.
  10. How very optimistic. Playing Devils advocate we could be in the bottom 3 in 6 games time. I dont think we will, but I think as much chance of us being on 40 points.
  11. River plate did eventually in 2012 I believe. Unfortunately it would look like we wouls be the River Plate of the premier league before long.
  12. I recently read about how the Argentine league is calculated on the teams average over 3 seasons (promoted teams by the amount of seasons they have been in the league e.g west ham 2 seasons, palace 1 season) and the average points per game makes up the league. The thought behind it was to ensure that the 'big' clubs did not get relegated. I then thought how would the Premier league look on this principle. The table below would be the standings after 22 games this season. Club Average point per game Man City 2.21 Man Utd 2.19 Arsenal 1.98 Chelsea 1.92 Spurs 1.88 Everton 1.64 Liverpool 1.60 Newcastle 1.45 WBA 1.20 Southampton 1.20 Fulham 1.16 Swansea 1.16 Stoke 1.14 West Ham 1.06 Aston Villa 1.05 Hull 1.05 Palace 0.91 Cardiff 0.81 It shows how hard the argentine league makes it for new teams. And how a good season can save you from relegation fights for the next couple, see WBA.
  13. Don't know if it's mentioned here or on another thread by reported on SSN that defour in advanced talk with fulham. Fulham have offered 4.1 million. Surely worth a punt at the price.
  14. I would be vert concerned if I were one of these idiots that sent abuse. Possibly lose their jobs (those who do have them) kicked out of uni (those who are there) and the serious threat of a record for future employers to see you have charged with rascist abuse. All because of a football game and a dive from a man that, apart from wearing a jersey that you follow, could not care less about you. Do they expect Suarez to be grateful they have 'stood up' for him? Was anything done to the girls that sent death threats to gabby after the Petrov match or did he not report it? Rant over.
