  1. I was going to say the same thing.. I think that Unai knows that if you complain about the oppositions tactics then you are basically admitting you don't know how to combat them.. And if you talk about 'luck' then you are giving the players an opt out from taking personal responsibility.. Basically, our Manager is better than almost every other manager in the league..
  2. You have to be of a certain age to really appreciate the quality in this comment
  3. Brinkmanship negotiations.. he’s clearly good at it.. and Barca played along.. I hope they’re both happy. we just need to concentrate on our own business now, which I’m sure we will.
  4. Ok.. before you read this…. Be aware,,, I have had at least 3 pints of lager and a bottle of jamesons.. so latitude please.. imagine Villa park playing massive attack paradise circus.. and 30k Villa fans doing the clapping sections of the song.. specifically the outro with the strings.. now don’t get me wrong, I know we’d all have to turn up for rehearsals.. all 30k of us.. because it’s not that easy to get it right.. but still.. it would be so unique in world football culture..modern, weird and new level awe inspiring with that…. I’m off to find a bin to puke in…. happy bank holiday!
  5. Is it me, but he’s just not the same without ROK
  6. But a small part of us all believe that delboy is telling the truth
  7. I know it’s frustrating that we’re losing.. but just think back 8 or 9 months… and look at our general play now..
  8. Agree, unfortunately he just doesn’t have the athleticism we need.. eventually the injury to Kamara was going to effect us..
  9. Dougie's career for Villa reminds me a bit of Gareth Barry's.. in that we can all see he is talented.. comes in strong gets picked for Brazil.. then loses his way a little.. mainly due to poor management.. loses place in the national side..and now he comes again.. I assume he'll get in the Brazil side soon.. and in two years time we'll be fending off Madrid or similar for his signature..
  10. When he came off on Saturday he looked like he was slightly injured.. do we know if he is ok?
  11. Unfortunately I don’t get to Villa Park to often. Especially over the last 20 years.. I was there today and it was epic.. Can someone tell me the words to the song everyone sings which references 1982?
  12. I’m losing my edge… I was there on the 15th April 2023 when we beat Newcastle Utd 3 - 0 and the belief filled the stadium..

    Chelsea

So Rodgers leaves by mutual consent.. and Chelsea then sack Potter.. so…. Brendan becomes Chelsea manager?
  14. His decision making has been impeccable so far.. in game management and squad selection.. and think about when he sold Ings and bought Moreno.. I was a little concerned.. but he just knows what he’s doing..
  15. Let us have the ball and we’ll beat you 3-0 keep the ball away from us and we’ll beat you 2-0.. what a manager!
  16. He has very good spirit every day; he’s smiling every day; he wants to train every day. As a professional, he’s amazing with his commitment and his example for other players. “I like him. When I arrived here, I remember the first meeting we had in the dressing room and now he’s the same. “I’m very happy with him and his performances have been at a high level. He’s played as a midfielder in the last two matches, as a number ten, and he played very well. “It was very good for me to know he can play in different positions.”
  17. I’m all in!! Because of the attitude and style he has implemented.. they’re both totally sustainable.. when we get to the point of challenging the top four.. which we will soon, there will not be a drop off in March like with MON.. and we will still be able to compete in the cups.. .. anyone who has to manage will see this to be true.. He is the best manager since we were the first division champions
  18. Looked like a mosquito type bite just under his eye to me.. I’ve had one and that is what it looked like..
  19. You know what.. you are correct.. that’s why we put the word Super before his name
  20. Not sure where to post this.. so I’ll post it here.. went to the Aston Villa website to read the match report.. I was looking at the action photos and I’ve just realised that our team wear leg warmers on top of white socks.. what is the world coming too..
  21. Great post and I totally agree with you.. I think Cash is an example of a player who has taken longer to figuring it out.. but you can see he is starting to get it..
  22. Just spotted this and I can’t get over it.. I have a Miles Garrett Browns top.. I’m def wearing it to the next Villa home game I can make..So happy.. like finding out PJ Harvey sang with QOTSA..
  23. I found Emery’s post match comments massively uplifting.. he didn’t wet his pants about the second goal.. called out a World Cup winning player.. he didn’t talk about luck.. I can’t remember the last time I heard an Aston Villa manager deal with this type of result in this manner.. (I would bet that he would have commented in a similar way if we had managed to win) He saw the reality of the match.. and the team did not meet his standards (including himself) and no-one is immune to the standard no matter what their pedigree.. there was no doubt about who is the boss at Aston Villa and he will not rest until he wins.. I’m all in
