This is reminding me of the NFL draft. I think that 90% of the links we are hearing are valid, the problem for us is we have no idea how the Villa management team rank them. As players drop from our reach who is next up according to their scoring mechanism, and our needs vs best player available.. I have to say though, I trust our lot to get it right (more often than not), for first time in as far as I can remember..

Yeah very true.. I should have said.. it was an interesting insight.. I didn’t mean it to sound like I was dismissive of your post RicRic Ultimately we all wish we absolutely knew what Emery’s plan is for next season.. Certainly I’m feeling very impatient to see what happens next season

I trust Emery more than this Sam Tighe chap.. plus I'm sure we've targeted Torres, not because he is the biggest priority but rather because we needed to get him nailed down before some CL clubs started sniffing around.. I imagine Emery wants us to be a tactically a very flexible side.. and Torres is one of the pieces of the puzzle to get to that aim.

Erdington boy here.. Villa 99.95% in the eighties.. moved away in the 90’s as a twenty year old.. no idea now what the percentage would be for Villa now in Erdington but I would hope 99.94%..

I was in the home end at Reading away, which I think was his first game for us.. he definitely has a nasty streak.. I can't remember who he did a number on, but I thought at the time, this is exactly what we needed

KMitch, I love this post.. I remember that game at Everton like it was yesterday and AY was epic. I wish you’d had the chance to see us in the 90’s.. not to mention the obvious 80‘s success.. My empathy is because I watched NFL in the 80’s as a child and then rediscovered it as an adult in the period that MON took charge of my beloved AV.. and the Cleveland Browns chose me.. I tried to support nearly everyone else but it was only the factory of sadness that made me want religiously want to tune in any given Sunday.

Yes I should have said.. I’m not a fan of the decision.. his experience this season has been vital.. his performance against Newcastle at home was the epitome of this.

I wonder whether this is also influenced by the resurgence of Mings and Konsa in so much as we have Diego also.. so may be when we want to get defensive Konsa shuffles over to allow Diego and Ty to play centre.. or we play three at the back and have attacking fullbacks on both sides of the pitch my point being his game time would be greatly reduced

I am so impressed with how he’s managed to gel the entire squad.. The team haven’t really struggled when we suffered from injuries. Everyone slots in and delivers what has been asked of them. It really bodes well for when we play in Europe, handling multiple players in each position who believe they are starter quality..
