  1. It feels like we’ve been like that at all our away games.. we just normally score, and we don’t concede from shots outside the box I’m sure Unai will figure it out
  2. What I love about Emery is his sustainable approach.. I watched Newcastle tonight and it was so fast paced right from the off and no plan b.. I am now convinced our team will be stronger than theirs going in to April and May.. those Newcastle players will be f*cked..
  3. and the fact it is a winning team means the players are desperate to get back in to training so they are bound to push the limits of their fitness, which I'm sure is what has happened with Kamara/Moreno and Ramsey
  4. If it is true then I agree with this to be honest. 'Allowed' as in we are all pretty stupid at 19 years old. You don't realise how much time you have when you are 19, you think that everything needs to happen immediately. This is where I hope the older professionals step in and save him from himself, they see him day in day out and should help him through..
  5. I was thinking he was given a rest because he’ll start midweek..
  6. I thought that he did take an elbow to the back of the head though?
  7. I know this would never happen.. but I’d love it if Deano was on Unai’s staff..
  8. Hope you enjoyed a few beers..
  9. Its Moyes set piece ball today and I’m nervous about it.. I really hope we thrash them..
  10. For this season all that matters is whether Unai thinks he’s worth the effort longer term.. he’s probably playing way more than expected due to our injury issues.. let him acclimatise to our culture as well as our football (the first one may take longer than the latter) and I think he’ll be one of us
  11. I didn’t see the game.. what is the problem with McGinn?
  12. I was randomly tuning in to talksport to hear what was going on.. they made it sound like we should’ve lost 5 nil..
  13. I feel exactly the same.. and I think Luiz and McGinn may work specifically because you have this threat in front of them.. I also think when you get Moreno and Carlos back you can use Konsa as a right back.. so our balance of defensive work and attack means that McGinn and Luiz can concentrate on the transition and not get too stretched. Back on topic, I think he’ll be a great player for us, it’s just about getting game time for Zaniolo and the right team structure.. I trust Unai to figure it out.
  14. I’ve been disappointed to see Spurs and West Ham start ok.. 5th and 6th will be really hard fought this season.. I still reckon we’ll win a trophy though
  15. At the end of last season and especially at home against Newcastle we looked like we had strength in central midfield.. Dougie and SJM were both getting in to the oppositions faces etc.. what has happened this season against decent opposition?? I know we’re missing Mings but that doesn’t affect what those two are doing to get hold of the ball in midfield.. it feels to me that our shape needs to change somehow against the good sides that enables us to get at them and not be passive.. Any insight would be appreciated
  16. I know what you mean but I’m hoping that JJ will be the one that takes up the challenge of taking SJM’s spot in the team.. when he’s fit..
  17. I think Emery is doing a brilliant job with Diego.. just bringing him in gradually.. I am sure he’ll have a big input this season, based on what I saw today.
  18. Thought there was a few times today when his team mates could have given him the ball in dangerous areas but didn’t.. a bit like Jack last season with City
  19. I’m by no stretch of the imagination an expert on Zaniolo but one thing I reckon is that he is definitely not scared of a big stage.. …and I think some players come in to our club not realising that our stage is pretty f**king big.. Zaniolo comes in relishing it.. Bodes well in my eyes
  20. I said this earlier in this thread, but i am convinced we would have beaten either Liverpool or Chelsea if we had them first game, after watching their match.. We are definitely in the same conversation as the other teams vying for a top 6 finish.. I do not believe we have been fooled and actually we'd be lucky to get 10th based on the Newcastle result.
  21. I don't mean to be overly negative, but replacing him as a CB is going to be very difficult as well.. He's got to be in the top 10 CB in the league.. I totally get your point though add all his leadership qualities to his physical and football talent.. and this is a punch to the gut.
