I thought it was a decent enough performance taking into account a few things. We were playing Man U. 5 players making their second appearance for the club - they still havent gelled. The players arent fully fit for 90 mins- gueye and veretout were blowing out of their arses after 70 mins. Once players get up to speed and the fitness levels improve we are going to be a very good team. We still have gil, grealish and gestede to come into the team as starters so from an attacking point of view I think we will be fine. Defensively we have looked solid enough and will only improve, plus veretout, gueye and Westwood gave much more protection to the back four than yhe midfield of last season. We kept Rooney so quiet his first touch in our box was in the 91st minute putting the ball out for a throw instead of a goal kick.

I agree. But I also think it was quite clear we went out in the first half to stop Bournemouth from playing, let their adrenaline burn off and keep the fans quiet. As soon as they got the ball everyone raced back to get into shape and we contained Bournemouth quite well. Second half we played a lot more direct and Gabby benefitted from that.

I think signing attackers is still a priority for us. I can't see Sherwood replacing Richards and Clark and we have crespo, senderos and okore in the squad to challenge for those positions I agree. Defence is all about partnerships and getting used to the bloke next to you. We know Clarke and Okore can play alongside each other, its just a matter of Richards and Clarke gelling. For me our problems laat season were in the midfield. Cleverly played well for about 10 games, the snake did lots of running with little to no end product..... with gueye and hopefully veretout we may have a more dynamic midfield that takes pressure off the defence.

Oulare would be a very good signing. He has the potential to be an excellent striker. With the position our club is in we should be looking at yhese types of players as he will be worth a hell of a lot more in a few years.
