I might be mis-remembering somewhat but I do recall a few female posters who were regular (although not prolific) posters on VT in the past. At least one cited "ladz bantz" as the primary reason for quitting the site. I guess if VT were a commercial venture, we'd be trying to advertise ourselves to the young women who are interested in our ladies team but I don't think we'd be the most welcoming place for them.

Did The Afterparty ever get a mention on VT? I only recently discovered it and binged the whole of season 1 last week. Big, silly, daft whodunnit, told from the perspective of each character episode by episode. Thoroughly enjoyable. And I now have a strange crush on Tiffany Haddish.

I'd forgotten this thread existed! I've been tasked with fixing a problem in the OH's kitchen. Not sure why it's on me rather than her landlord and I fear I'll make it worse rather than better. There's two storage drawers under the hob and both of them have clearly been botched in the past. The screws holding the runners, are loose in the holes that have been drilled for them in the wood (chipboard) so the drawers keep dropping (insert KW*). Trying to find a fatter screw that isn't too long is proving a pain. Is there something I could use to fill the hole and then re-screw the screws into it? Rawl plugs haven't worked so far as they're too long. Maybe I could snip the ends? Any advice appreciated. *appreciate that most of this post is KW-worthy.

I was on the beach at the time, although nowhere near close enough to know it was happening at the time. They’re very prescriptive about when you can and can’t swim down there. From memory I think it was single red flag on that day which means you can’t go past knee height. Apparently he was swimming and had a cramp. Not sure how they know that but it was the talk of the town for the next few days so no doubt there was a lot of speculation. All very sad.

The boy is rapid. Took off 20 minutes late and still managed to arrive ahead of schedule. Sign him up!

Think I’d largely agree with your thoughts. Definitely missing the heart of previous films. I enjoyed it probably until act three but by the end I wasn’t sure if I’d missed the point or if there wasn’t actually one there.

That’s my fear. I’ve loved most of his output but didn’t like The French Dispatch. Turned it off after an hour. At least the Everyman sofas are comfy so I can have a nap if the film sucks.

Nonsense. I finally got my hands on one when they re-released it in 2010. Gave me 13 minutes of unbridled joy before going on top of a wardrobe* where it has remained. *The codes I had to punch into it to get it up there were rather convoluted.
