Did a similar thing when elected Labour leader - started going on about Israel. I quite like a lot of what he says - but the average bloke in the street isn't really interested in Israel ....or Syria....unless we get onto the subject of taking refugees ....which we now might over the next 48 hours.....concentrate on public spending cuts and the NHS...

Lefty BBC article on the actual speech I'm struggling to see what's quite so offensive to the tories in that speech? I suspect we are all being treated to a 'westminster village' tiff over the staged angry reaction to a leaked over egged preview of not very much. It's clearly intended and rather subtle in how it's been done , ( maybe too subtle for the average voter ) News at 10:00 tonight might possibly lead with a story about the Captain of the boat in court showing images of Migrants in sinking boats and pictures of the coffins lined up etc .. and then a few stories later Ed's speech mentioning Libya and specifically blaming Cameron ... Saying that I see one news agency has already gone with the less subtle approach and the Headline of "Labour accuses PM over migrant boat deaths Even if that happened - I wouldn't think that would be a game changer - I really think that people don't vote based on this sort of stuff.... its immigration, Tax, NHS, Welfare, etc....

I actually think the plan (from either Fox or Lerner) was to stick with Lambert - But after Hull it became obvious that to do so was suicide. we couldn't afford to get into protracted negiotations with anyone - which made TS the obvious choice to his credit TF got it done swiftly. I still have doubts about TS long term - but keeping us up and getting to a cup final would certainly be a good start.

seems a strange one , he actually backed the military involvement in Libya ,obviously this was in the days before he played politics with thousands of lives as he did in Syria , so isn't he as much to blame ?if indeed any blame is to be had . Dunno - but its a brave man who even hints to the electorate that would should be taking more refugees

That was what I said - 2 more assuming 1 of Vlaar\Senderos leaves. No there probably isn't another team with 6 CB'S - If we had 4 that rarley got injured that would suffice. Not quite sure whats happening with Baker it was reported that he is out for season at first - but TS said he is being assessed week by week. To me its key area - I think playing someout out of position here - or putting a rookie in, well you can't get away with it like you can in other positions..

Well as it stands we are one injury away from such a scenario - and given one of our current fit CB'S is Vlaar - we are skating close to thin ice on that one. Numerically we are fine - but given the injury prone Baker\Vlaar\Senderos (a few weeks back none of those were fit) - I would add to this area Have this discussion every pre season - every season we buy 1 cb - when I reckon it should be 2 !

We are woefully short at centre back. Baker\Vlaar\Senderos are a bit injury prone. Okore is still Young and prone to the odd error Clark possibly player of the season. CB has been a weak spot for the last few years for us - assuming at least one of Vlaar\Senderos leaves - 2 new centre backs please.

His (Sanchez) best form came when Lambert was playing that sideways walking pace stuff. Id sub him after 75 minutes - he always seems to do something daft towards the end of games.

Cheers Tony, I don't understand the ramblers comment ? I mostly done all inclusive family holidays for the last 10 years - park your arse on a lounger/beer/burger - 2 weeks later return home ! Last year had a mini break to Barca just me and the wife -which I really enjoyed - but was aprehensive before (i live in a city - why visit another ?) ....How wrong I was....

Yes there was quote a couple of years back when the economy was is dire straights "There is the assumption that the private sector props up the public sector - when actually the opposite seems to be true" I had a friend who made a decent living of being a contract plasterer - loads of his work was at schools , hospitals etc - he ended up having to extend his mortgage - as that work dried up over a matter of months. Ironically he was a public sector basher, full of waste etc...

Mrs Smetrov wants me to take here to venice for her 50th ...... I don't have a clue about the place - any ideas of rough cost of a 3 night break next spring ? Wheres the main bit to visit - (the equvalent of ramblers in Barcelona ?) Any agents that do good deals ? Any tips / hints / avoids welcome.....
