  1. Not aimed at you in particular - but why can you take any comfort from that ? - I'm not saying you're wrong - but he's been gone almost 3 months and relegation is still a distinct possibility Im just saying that under Sherwood we are still more than likely to stay up and comparing the difference between the 2 different managers. Our last 3 games we have: Beat Spurs away Beat the scousers at Wembley Very unfortunate to lose to the champions on their own patch, we would have won if it were not for a disgraceful decision by the officials. Also, Newcastle could well be dragged into this yet, they are **** awful. Ah right - we were unfortunate against Man City ? - why on earth didn't some one tell me ...... Lets just hope were not unfortunate against Everton, coming to think of it we were unfortunate against Stoke\Swansea\Newcastle - somebody call the FA and get them to shift us the table a bit - be unfortunate if we got relegated...

  3. The only possible upside - is that may stop us sleepwalking to relegation - all this 'best football in years' 'other than gifting them 3 goals - we were superb' - We are where we are for a reason - we aren't winning enough prem games - esp at home....
  4. Supermarc Id be worried if we weren't playing so well
  5. I was a late 70's 80's mod. My memory is that soul was absent from that scene - it was Jam\Secret Affair - with Tamla motown touted as the original 'mod music' Also in the 80's - the sknheads and the mods were very much foes, but in the 60's they were sort of on the same side. Been to a few mod do's lately, a lot it is now focused around the scooters and the skinheads and mods are once in the same camp. Footnote:- Secret Affair haven't got the greatest of reputations - but they are the best band I have ever seen live - they are playing the Institute on Nov 7 if anyone fancies it....
  6. Spot on. Absolutely nothing to do with the club. ... except own it ... and employ Tom Fox ... and provide a little money for Gil and Sinclair ... and rubberstamp Lambert out for Sherwood in other than that - what have the Romans... errr... Lerner ever done for us? He hired tom fox to help sell the club after selling it. From what Sherwood said when he joined it sounds like fox is making the decisions and running the club. I'm glad he's out the way, its the only time decent decisions have been made. He has nothing to do with the club and is waiting for it to be sold. "Nothing to do with the club" in what sense? I have no doubt he'll sell up if the right offer comes in, but I think he's still pretty involved. From what I remember, Sherwood made some comments when he joined about fox running the show. I dont think Lerner has much involvement at all at the moment. I don't think Lerner has ever wanted to be involved in decision making ...obviously he has to do some - but by and large I think Fox runs the show.
  7. I don't know - but how often have we got to May and only won 3 home games all season ? Having won 3 out of 16 homes games - people are saying we shouldn't worry because we are definitley going to win 2 from the next 3 .... To date TS has won 1 home game in the PL - and that with a last gasp penalty.
  8. I wouldn't actually blame Guzan - But I agree with your prognosis, early on in home games we look very edgy - that what concerns me about Saturday. Also someone posted on here that Everton didn't play that well, but they just put away there chances - which didn't re assure me at al ! I actually think we've started most games well under Sherwood. Stoke- took the lead after 20 minutes. West Brom- Brilliant, arguably the best half we've played this season. Swansea- Can have this one. Were poor and should've been behind at half time. QPR- Gave away a cheap goal after 5 minutes but excellent after and should've been more than 2-1 up at half time. But this is VT so believing something becomes fact. 2 out of 4 then ? seem to remember WBA missing a couple early on in the league match - mainly from our errors (could be wrong, but that's my memory)

  10. They are on a bit of a roll - haven't they took something like 16pts from a possible 19 ?
  11. Good point - and it can happen of course. The difference in that season was we had a lot players returning from injury - and we had good players under performing, who for whatever reasons got there ass into gear. Currently - we have 2 mid fielders playing as full backs, Vlaar our best CB has a poor injury record, and Okore seems plagued by errors. Hutton will be boost when he is back - Senderos for Okore could go either way. We pretty much have to go with what we have.
  12. Sorry - but it will be TS fault. (or at least he is accountable) We were in the relegation zone on goal difference when he took over - we had a run of easy looking games, Stoke, Newcastle, Swansea, QPR, WBA - we didn't get enough points from those games. He took the job to keep us up - if he doesn't do that he has failed in his task of what he was brought in to do (and before anyone says it - it doesn't matter if he was better than Lambert or not)
  13. Where none of us have bowel cancer I did say eating _lots_ of meat is bad for you, which is universally accepted. Red meat once or twice a week. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/28/magazine/28nutritionism.t.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0 Universally accepted .... Not in this house it ain't The thing is when it comes to the human body there is no one size fits all , I don't eat fruit and barely touch veg .. I might die at 45 but equally I might go on and live to be 100... That's kinda the great mystery of the human body Yeah, absolutely right. Some people can smoke all their lives and not get lung cancer too, but the chances are massively increased. But if you barely eat fruit and veg and eat lots of red meat, it's not really an equal chance whether you'll get to 45 or 100. Numerous studies have shown that smoking is bad for you and reduces your life expectancy. The fact that Aunty Edna smoked 40 a day and lived to be 101 doesn't alter that fact.
  14. To be fair though, that result brought about Lambert's sacking and Sherwood's arrival. The loss at Newcastle damaged us far more. I actually thought it was Swansea - We would have won 3 in a row at home - it would have given us breathing space - and perhaps given us more confidence to play at home - as it is we look like rabbits in the headlights - especially early on in games
  15. im sure you said same about Spurs and Sunderland and West Brom and every other game we have played So I take it you think we will beat Everton ? I dont think I said that at all No I am asking you ....do you think we will beat Everton ? maybe but my point was you come on before every game and predict a loss I predicted we would beat WBA\QPR\Swansea - and Liverpool. - with only 3 home wins all season - Im not exactly laying it on the line - saying I don't think we will beat Everton.
  16. I think the difference this season is that with 34 games gone - the title and CL places are pretty much decided. I think if Liverpool had needed points to cement a CL place tonight we would have seen a different performance.

  19. I stll think 4 would be enough. Im just not confident of us getting them
  20. 3 home wins all season - and very short at centre back - 2 big problems for me.
  21. I really think we are for it this season. I don't see us beating Everton - and think the pressure will get to us from then onwards. Hope I'm wrong - but I've had a bad feeling about us since Swansea at home
  22. Yep thats what I see happening 'our list of allies grows ever thinner'
  23. I think Okore will leave. Goals scored
  24. I really don't see us beating Everton. Weve only managed 3 home wins all season - we should get one more - but the last day is likley to be a hurly burly lottery - where anything could happen - for example we could have even more injuries than we do now.... Or we could have more players back to fitness and more options Depends if your glass is half empty or half full i guess The only player to feasibly come back is Hutton. We are very short at CB and Vlaar doesn't have a great injury record. - Okore seems to struggle with the physical aspect of the premier league
