  1. Anyone else having trouble finding the game on a bird like American tv network ?
  2. Yep with this and the Everton player from Iceland’s case going on doesn’t put footballers in a good light at the moment. Feel Mendys career is over now and probably a long sentence coming up
  3. Does anyone actually think McKennie is a serious link? Can’t see it at the moment if I’m honest and just to add into the mix with Jack going I’m a little bit underwhelmed by our business. Really like the look of Bailey and Ings but not sure where emi fits in but losing Jack and still being £5 in profit makes no sense. Big sides spend consistently year on year I know we spent big first year back and spent a fair bit last season but that’s what it needs to be to keep progressing and with Jack gone that’s a big backward step that we need to sort out
  4. I must admit I wondered if axel could play there he always seems decent on the ball and good defensively plus he is strong and quick
  5. Not wishing to be critical but young Watkins and el ghazi as options on the left are not acceptable for me given the quality we had on the left last year. Granted I imagine Bailey will play out there most of the time but those other options are not really options for me, they are the kind of options that end up in the result we got on Saturday
  6. Not to sure what people expected of him on Saturday but given for the most part we pumped long balls up to him I thought he did okay. When we played into feet I thought he had good movement and link up so more to come I think
  7. Agreed we didn’t have balance and also zero pace anywhere on the pitch at the start of the match. Looking at that starting line up I’m thinking of all the wide players we have at the club how the F is el ghazi starting? He hardly started last year so what’s he done get a start and his performance did not answer that question. look what Watford did used pace out wide as a constant get out ball with Sarr who we absolutely should have signed from them last year. We had no get out balls at all just punts to nowhere from cash (who if he plays like that needs replacing ASAP) and mings.
  8. Problem with needs time to settle is that Watford are rubbish and we had 3 very winnable/must win games because the next 3/4 are not so winnable and I don’t want us in a played 7 with zero points on the board situation
  9. That midfield is shameful and out wide to be fair so slow
  10. Nope one of those seasons think we are seeing how reliant we were on grealish because buendia is shit
  11. I remember over the last 15 years the number of Arsenal “supporters” who said they started supporting arsenal for the way they played football or because they used to love Henry. I wonder what they think now watching this shit? Guessing most of those are now Man City fans because real fans love the club for feeling it gives you or the impact it makes on you not formations, styles of play or favourite players
  12. Very business like. Jacks gone we have moved on he is in the past we look to the future with players that want to be here not chasing a media driven dream of champions league
  13. Also both axel and konsa can play right back if needed. I thought konsa played really well there at the end of last season
  14. It’s a question maybe not is he that good but with building a team does he give us an edge on other teams and I think the answer is very much yes he does. If we keep Jack then set pieces become as key a component of our game as almost anything else either by teams fouling Jack and JWP delivering or the threat of delivery means sides can’t foul Jack. if Jack leaves then JWP is still a big uplift in set piece quality but perhaps the numbers of free kicks will be less
  15. I wouldn’t worry about it I think Man City have shown the rules are irrelevant
  16. Likewise but I do find it amusing how the papers are now saying Villa to go after Cantwell IF Jack leaves. Yesterday he was gone and probably flying straight to Manchester rather than Birmingham it seems doubt is creeping in to the journalists. At least the Bailey signing doesn’t seem to be a replacement and we trying to sign him regardless
  17. Jacks been pushing for a move away for years remember how gutted he was not to go to Spurs then last season he was trying to engineer a move to Utd. He might have been a Villa fan as a kid but he job is to make Jack grealish as rich a possible. the key to this is making sure we spend the money well and this could be the best thing to ever happen to us. Spend it badly and we look stupid
  18. Disappointed if he goes but remember these players are commodities to us we make use of them as a club while they are useful we get rid of them when they are not and we sell when value is right. We absolutely shouldn’t be tied or loyal to any player. If Jack goes then he is the enemy on day 1 of leaving as is any other player who plays against is because they are trying to beat us. the key to this is too replace him with players which make us stronger team. Being dependant On one player is always dangerous
  19. With a story like this it only takes one paper to write an article and then they all write the same thing because they don’t want to be left out so they end up all being right or all wrong.
  20. The reports do make me laugh. We are in talks, how long would those talks actually last? “we want your best player” “No chance he isn’t for sale at any price. Bye don’t call back” talks over. It makes out that we are trying to find a way to make the deal happen
  21. Still feels to me like paper talk by journalists that don’t have much to write about so chuck in some lazy reports about bids being made. I will start to take it more seriously if a bid actually materialises. I see to remember an official bid going in for Harry Kane prior to the euros but nothing further seemed to happen with that. In truth I’m surprised that isn’t more of a story for the papers to make stuff up about given the numbers City would have to pay for Kane it seems far more attractive a story to me. on another note, if they do start dropping offers in for Jack why would we accept anything other than way over market value. If I own a house which is worth £200k that I really like and I don’t want to sell and someone knocks on my door and says I want your house I’ll pay £200k that deals not happening so it’s got to be way over market value to get my interest pricked. So if jacks value is £100 mil why would we sell him for that given we don’t want him to go and we don’t need the money.
  22. People like Danny mills and Danny Murphy, Paul Merson are in this mentality that the only ambition you can have is to want to play for the top team and win medals. Reality is some players have different ambitions (not many granted) like Matt le tisser or Steven gerrard (I know he won trophies) to see it through with there home town club and become legends. I am not sure if Jack feels that way but he is half way there already. Who is the last legend at united? Cantona maybe.
  23. On a different note than England players Daring to have a holiday. The prospect of Kane to Man City seems more likely and I would imagine that deal will cost city around £250 million with fee signing bonus and wages over I’m assuming a 5 year deal. Regardless of who you are I don’t see them then going and dropping probably the best part of another 190+ million on Jack even if they shift some players which given the wages they pay I imagine is easier said than done.
  24. Not actually sure what the aim of this article is. Some young lads spent there annual leave in Greece and had a few drinks, didn’t get into trouble and were pleasant to others around them. Is the point to say that they spent more than most normal average people on the drinks they had?
