    Relegation

We really need to win Fulham next weekend just to ease the pressure even further. I think we have Man Utd the week after that. We've been in good form but if we don't win Fulham and results go against us then we're still very much in deep trouble.
  2. An absolute beast. With more experience he'll be a much better player. This can be said for most of our younger players.
  3. You always take what footballers and agents say with a bit of salt. But I'm sure Lambert and Lerner will do everything they can to hold on to him in the summer. It will be a win win situation. He's only getting better and then if they want to sell him in the summer of 2014 we'll get twice as much as we'll get this summer.
  4. If Randy wants to make money he will hold on to him this summer (that is if we manage to stay up). He's just getting better and better. He'll easily be worth something ridiculous in the summer of 2014.
  5. Of course Lambert should be slated when we lose and when we win. And of course when we draw. Also when we don't play. And when Norwich play. Never on Thursdays though. Never.
  6. Finally a win! It wouldn't be Villa without those nerve-damaging last minutes.
  7. I can strongly confirm that's not true.
  8. Hopefully he'll be just what we need. We all know we need strength and power in midfield and, on paper at least, he should bring that. If we play him in a midfield three that would able our other midfielders to concentrate a bit more on the attacking phase. If we sign a defender as well today then I will be a bit more optimistic about us avoiding relegation.
  9. We're playing Bannan and Westwood against Cabaye and Sissoko. That in itself is laughable. Why haven't we bought a strong defensive midfielder in the summer or now?
  10. The solution isn't getting rid off Lambert IMO (although I understand the people who wan't him gone). The situation isn't black and white. The club is rotten and it's not his fault. The squad is shit. Calling the man a word removed is just really poor.
  11. This is exactly the way I feel. I'm really scared where Villa will be in a few years. We're going the way of Nottingham Forrest, Leeds United and the others. We're ****.
  12. "In football you just have to get on with it. We go again."
  13. Last night after the match I wanted him sacked, I just felt so disappointed, angry and frustrated with it all. Having given the matter a bit of thought I think that maybe it won't help just sacking him. Randy Lerner is the problem and always will be the problem. After MON left we haven't spent the money we need and we've had poor managers and we haven't had any continuity. I can see that people want Lambert gone and I think that's also a perfectly reasonable opinion. I just think the problem lies much deeper and it's a problem that a new manager won't fix. Our only hope is that Lerner sells up soon and we get in a decent owner who gives a shit. These past three years have been horrible for the football club and that isn't Gerard Houllier's, Alex McLeish's or Paul Lambert's fault. It's Randy Lerner's problem. We as fans really don't have any power. The only thing we can do is not show up to games.
  14. He's talking about James Hanson, the guy who has raped us in those two legs. He was given a painkiller injection. Common!
  15. I can't stand this club and what it has become. I've been a fierce fan of Lambert but this is too much. The thought of Lerner finding another manager scares me though. What have we done to deserve this team? Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic and horrible. **** off.
  16. It's fantastic to be able to be this excited for a Villa game. I'm not sure we'll get all the points but it won't be through a lack of trying.
  17. At Villatalk it's never too early to compare our players with world class players. We are a deluded bunch.
  18. Great performance and a good result. Another rock solid performance from Brad Guzan and he's now firmly our number one keeper. Clark and Vlaar are playing really well together and Vlaar is an instant fans favorite. Lowton continues to impress at right back and I look forward to when we get Bennett in at left back for Lichaj. KEA wasn't that noticeable today but he kept things ticking. Bannan's deliveries are getting better by each game and he's starting to do the more simple things in the game better. Ireland worked hard but things didn't quite go his way today. Holman will be a cult hero at Villa Park, his work rate is ridiculous. He can make some nice plays but he's a bit rusty in his ball control at times. Great player to have in your team. Bent linked up nicely with Benteke but for me he's still too much of a luxury player. Weimann was OK and he could have scored. Benteke looks an absolute beast and had some very good touches and of course a debut goal! Just the striker we've wanted. It's only early in the season but to me it looks like our best signing in many years is Paul Lambert. The change in attitude among the players is clear for all to see. Hope he stays here for a long, long time.
  19. ----------------Guzan Lowton-------Vlaar----Clark-----Bennett ----------El Ahmadi---Westwood -----Holman--------------------Ireland ------------Gabby------Bent Subs: Given Lichaj Benteke Weimann Delph Bannan Herd I think Lichaj is a hard worker and he'll give his all but for me he's just not good enough. Not sure about Westwood starting but from what I've heard about him I hope so, doubt it though. Herd or Delph in for Westwood if he doesn't start.
  20. Lambert has confirmed he will fit for the Swansea game. I really can't wait for that game.
  21. Yeah you could see what he was doing with Ben Arfa there, showing him inside on his weaker right foot instead of giving him the opportunity to go on his left one. I think if he can get used to the pace of the Premier League then he'll be a good player for us. Can't fault his work ethic, he's a beast when we don't have the ball.
  22. A totally different Villa side than from the opening two games. Guzan is firmly the number one keeper now. Vlaar and Clark were very solid at the back. Holman isn't the best player but he just doesn't stop running (poor closing down in the goal though). Lowton looked good as well, got forward which he needs to do in this system. Ireland had a few nice touches, should have scored but other than that he wasn't involved enough I think. Great assist by Bannan in the goal but once again he sometimes tends to over complicate things when a simple pass is on. I hope El Ahmadi's injury isn't too serious because he's such an excellent player. Thought Lichaj was quite poor, looking forward to seeing Bennett at left back. Anyway this game bodes well for the future and it will be even better when the new signings come in.
  23. I assume Bennett is still injured although he did play 90 mins in midweek
