    We will not get relegated and with Lambert in charge we will hopefully be a good, successful football club in a few years time. Constructive criticism is always healthy but I think we need to be patient and put our faith in Lambert's vision and his people. I for one am very excited about the coming years and the continuity that seems to be in place and that has been lacking for far too long.

    Completely agree. Then again I think we just tend to notice the negative whiners on here more than all the people who are excited. I think most of us can see what Lambert is doing and are genuinely excited.

    So far Lambert has done very well in identifying the players he wants and they all look like good signings so I think I at least will be giving him the benefit of the doubt. There is no point being miserable about players signing without having a clue about them really.

    Yeah I actually couldn't care less about how our players look but we've got to have some kind of limit, he makes Luke Chadwick and Iain Dowie look like models. Then of course it's the fact that he's shit as well.

    I think that given how public our offer has been this deal is pretty much done (based on other deals we've done this summer). Does anyone remember a rejected bid we've made for a player this summer who did not then join us?

    Nolan and Palacios are IMO not good enough/young enough for the price we would have to pay. Adam just isn't good enough. Huddlestone has that ankle problem that rules him out and there is no way Wenger is selling Diaby with their shortage of midfielders. I don't think Ferguson is looking to sell Carrick but maybe we would have a chance with Anderson. Mulumbu is a good shout but I doubt we could afford him.

    I appreciate that we should of course take into account the opinion of the locals but if there is one thing that I think we can trust Lambert with it's signing good cheap-ish players (El Ahmadi and Vlaar are both very promising for us).

    A striker like Benteke, a creative midfielder and a left back and I'll be a lot calmer.

    He'll need lots of time and he'll make mistakes but I'm confident he'll get it right. He just needs some financial support from our owner.

    In theory NRC could be a good anchor man for a team but he just doesn't accept his limitations and he can't keep things simple. If he could just win the ball and then pass it to literally the next man available he would be a reasonable player. The thing is he can't do that. Either he goes on a stupid run to nowhere or he loses the ball with a poor pass. Stay away please. Far better players available who can do a much, much better job.

    I don't rate Adam Johnson as highly as many seem to do here. I think he's the definition of a highlights player and I also think he's lazy. He won't go for less than 12m pounds and for me that's just another overpriced English player.

    Really happy with this signing. Quality player from the few times I've seen him. If the rest of the players Lambert signs in this window are of the same quality we don't need to worry.
