  1. I can only think today Garde reckoned he won't fancy it in those conditions. That said if we're drawing 1-1 with West Ham we have to get him on the pitch, we need to attempt to win some games ffs.
  2. I bet you thought he'll score a hat-trick v Wycombe (two penalties and one tap in) and some on here will be saying he's the man to save us in the second half of the season. He does have that air of a flat track bully to me anyway.
  3. This lot are insane. You get the feeling even if they played Vardy and Mahrez against 11 players they'd still get a result.
  4. It would be the same if Capello ever came and managed in the prem, won so much in last 20 years but managing England and Russia showed he was starting to get out of touch. Football overtakes even the most succesful managers. To me the issue with LVG is poor squad management in the summer. Yes for various reasons Falcao, Hernandez and RVP all needed to be sold but where was the experienced striker to complement Rooney as so far this season too much has been gambled on Rooney scoring 25 goals and he just dosen't look capable of that anymore. Think they're crying out for a world class CB next to Smalling aswell. I was saying this in the summer so it's not a knee jerk reaction based on this poor form.
  5. He really puts some of our homegrown players to shame dosen't he? The first good signs to me were the SHA cup game when he was excellent in the second half. He really got how much that game meant to the fans and played accordingly. Just shows you what a **** up not getting a decent centre forward was in the summer. If we had a Charlie Austin type who could goal poach around the 6 yard box with Ayew just off him I'd be confident about the second half of the season.
  6. Well I implied your comment as Sinclair is shite and shouldn't be playing (which I wholeheartedly agree with) yet then bizarrely suggest N'zogbia as a replacement. CNZ is a Villa player in name only now, Garde as said as much so I personally ain't going to be wasting any more talking about him as he's been a waste of time for 99% of his time. I'd rather give support to players like Adama who just needs a decent chance rather than people like CNZ who have had too many chances.
  7. Got very lucky at the end, so easily Sissoko drifted past him.
  8. Comparing him to a player who Garde announced has no future at the club rather than Adama......?
  9. Only saw the second half but to me that was arguably our best half of football of the season, we actually looked a threat going forward. His team selections are conservative though, it's like he's of the mindset we're 10 points clear of the bottom 3 so we need to be solid and grind out draws whereas we desperately need wins so sooner or later he'll have to go for it as plucky draws like today won't be enough in the long run.
  10. Not a fan at all but him coming on today unsettled the Newcastle back 4 big time. Unlucky with the header at the end but not being quick enough to get on the end of Ayew's cross sums up his limitations at this level.
  11. Looks like he's going to be the blind spot player of this manager, starting game after game after game despite doing **** all. I was o.k signing him in the summer as I thought with what he showed end of last season he could be decent squad player, to come in for injuries and chip in with goals. It's the playing week in week out that's the problem.
  12. My new favourite player, magnificent second half even without the goal as he ran and ran and ran.If more of our side had his spirit and quality we'd be out of the bottom 3 imo. He wouldn't have trouble finding another prem club next season. A shame we didn't sign him when Benteke was here as he does so much good work outside the box.Today also showed he has to play as wide forward, central striker isn't his game and restricts him. He's also got the moody blues going on, don't think I've seen him crack a smile once yet. Not sure if that's his despair at our plight or just his general demeanor.
  13. Did people not see Newcastle-Palace highlights, Palace ripped Newcastle to shreds with the pace in their frontline. Earlier in the season Montero took the mick out of Janmatt, I think Newcastle back 4 are hopeless against any sort of direct pace. Yes they've won their last two but they've sat a lot deeper and in any case the forward lines of Spurs and Liverpool for all their quality don't have that quick players. I think he should start tomorrow.
  14. New Year isn't it so guess Sunderland away would be first game he's eligible for.

Believe me another year of LVG and they will.
  16. Well Defelou's finally living up to the hype for me although not close to Mahrez's stats. I'd say Everton have better quality over the pitch....Stones, Baines, Coleman, James McCarthy, Barkley, Lukaku are arguably better than what Leicester have in those areas but Leicester are unbelievable as a team and of course have Mahrez and Vardy to win the game for them. Should be a fun game to watch and really should be on the box instead of us or one of the Sunday games.
  17. Could happen actually. For the first time this season they're missing more than one first choice player. Huth suspended so chance for Lukaku to exploit this as don't actually know who Leicester's back up CB is, Upson still there? They've also lost Drinkwater for the xmas period who's a vital cog in the engine room. Everton to win...
  18. Alright I'm just saying before he comes back next season and this forum goes back into meltdown when he keeps on making errors in a lower division. Calum Robinson seems to have disappeared off the earth down there, was that a season long loan or can he come back in January?

Some of the Inter Milan team perhaps? People like Snedjer and Milito didn't reach such heights before or since. They certainly weren't the best team in europe the year they won CL, neither were Porto of course.
  20. They are conceding a lot of goals still with him playing so it's all relative.
  21. Ha I was watching Bristol on the TV the other day and was wondering who the lumbering Donkey centre half was. Camera zooms in....F*** it's Baker!
  22. Millions of pubs close to the stadium although never been on a matchday so no idea which are home fans only and which are shared. Could be worth stopping off in Durham, again plenty of boozers and only 15 minutes out of Newcastle.

No I agree, I got round to like Fergie in the end as he developed into that cuddly old grandad raging at everyone but they're still of the same ilk, siege mentality, getting average players to over perform. O.K if he's to manage again in Premier league the only place I can see him turning up is Man. United if Van Gaal dosen't destroy them first as a credible force.

Just reading McNumpty on the BBC, the one I hadn't considered is..........England. They flop at the Euros or even Woy just decides to retire and I have the feeling the timing would be right this time. He very nearly took it in 2007 it's worth remembering.
