  1. No but it's the points tally to stay up isn't it...if likes of Newcastle, Bournemouth keep losing their tallies at end of the season wouldn't be much over 30 points so we still have hope with that. If those two go on winning runs then they'll be getting over 30 points fairly quick and can finish on 35-40 points, we wouldn't have a chance if that happens, simply too many games to win whereas you need 6 wins and a few draws to finish on 34 points which has keep teams up before I'm fairly sure.
  2. If Norwich win they'd go to 26 points...15 point difference before we play them. I'd say the chances of us catching them would be 0.0001%.
  3. Newcastle and Bournemouth both winning...oh dear. So we win a game and that sparks everyone else into life.
  4. As I've said before Stoke at 3/1 to beat Arsenal is the bet of the weekend surely....just look at Arsenal's record at the Brit year in year out, they can't cope up there with the crowd and everything. Think Newcastle are a good price today, 9-5 so had them to win as insurance.
  5. Same for me really....it's an interesting method though and I'm sure it works for some who have the patience to follow the steps week after week.
  6. Oh dear....He's scored 11 goals for club and country this season despite not being a regular starter. Last season he scored 11 I think. I'm not saying he's brilliant nor do I think he'll come but I think some of you being a bit picky on established premier league players are going to have to lower your expectations a bit when we get relegated in three months time.
  7. Sunderland's next 5 are Bournemouth at home, Man. City at home, Liverpool away, Man. United at home and West Ham away....Bournemouth is looking a must win for them out of those fixtures, can't see a huge amount from the other games e.g. West Ham will be desperate to beat Big Sam, they'll probably get something at home to Man. United given how dismal they are. Would leave them with 22 points from I think 10 games left. Would be very disappointed if we're not in touch with them by that stage.
  8. Pelle is probably leaving for Juventus now or in the summer. Shane Long hasn't moved for about a year either so he's due a move.
  9. 1-1 now, disaster for us if Sunderland win this. FFS Spurs.
  10. Still nothing on that....Cardiff got a transfer embargo the other day yet nothing on QPR despite talk of 50m fines and relegation to the conference when they went down. Anyway said it on the transfer spec thread but they could've sold Austin for 15m no problem in the summer....now selling him for 4m and they're stuck in mid table in the championship with no prospect of promotion. Fernandes giving Lerner a run here.
  11. Loan to end of the season. Few papers running it so someone's been tipped off. May be at the game tonight (that's me speculating). http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-transfer-news-debuchy-10744251
  12. QPR probably as badly run as we are.....could've sold Austin for 15m in the summer which could've properly funded a promotion challenge...didn't and know losing him for a cut price 4m and are stuck in mid table with no chance of going up. Whatever happened to their FFP fine? Plenty of championship clubs getting embargos, not them.
  13. Not sure why Walters keeps getting linked....he only signed a new deal at Stoke 2 months ago and he's only being kept out by how good the Stoke front trio have been. Shaqiri is injured so he'll start v Arsenal. Crouch on the other hand I've mentioned many times before as a realistic target....not playing much at all and said he wants to play more regularly.
  14. He'll stay in for this weekend surely...I would be amazed if he dosen't have more to do tomorrow so will get a better judgement then.
  15. He always seems randomly to have good games v Chelsea. Cissokho is better than him.
  16. We just need to win as many games as possible, no issue if we space them out. So a win v Leicester, draw at West Brom and then beat Norwich next month gets us to 18 points and suddenly survival looks on big time as we surely wouldn't be that far off 17th. Got a reasonable feeling about this one for some reason, 1-1.
  17. Garde does seem to like him so think he'll stay under summer. Would get shot of him at end of season though, not a fan and he's one of those who wouldn't lift a leg in the championship, we don't need those types.
  18. Didn't actually realise Swansea play 2/3 of game with 10 men. That's where Sunderland got the luck, I'll ask again. When did we last play opposition down to 10 men for a large chunk of the game in a premier league fixture?
  19. Yes that's true but I thought they had a superb balance in midfield last season....Ki holding with Shelvey pushing on and Sigurdsson as number 10, it worked very well. Just looking at their team tonight, that's the problem, the back up isn't good enough. Leon Britton is a legend but he shouldn't be starting league games anymore and Modou Barrow to me is one of the worst players in the league. They're a bit like us atm, Ayew or nothing.
  20. Big ask but get 4 points from our next two and this can be a serious topic again instead of fantasy predictions.
  21. Curtis won't last the season, they'll panic and get in someone competent around March (probably just before they play us) which is what Sunderland always do and it's worked for them. If they lose at home to Watford I'll retract what I said above.
  22. Heads up for the weekend, Stoke are 3/1 (might even be more as this was just William Hill odds) yes 3-1 to beat Arsenal on Sunday. Results at the Brit since 2008: Stoke 2-1 Arsenal Stoke 3-1 Arsenal (FA cup) Stoke 1-3 Arsenal (Stoke down to 10 men at 1-1 with infamous Shawcross Red card) Stoke 3-1 Arsenal Stoke 1-1 Arsenal Stoke 0-0 Arsenal Stoke 1-0 Arsenal Stoke 3-2 Arsenal Do Bookies not study form or anything?
  23. Liverpool-Arsenal was the best game I've seen this season, fantastic watch from first minute to last. Think Arsenal made an error taking Walcott and Ozil off, they could've pinched another on the break at 2-3. They'll be disappointed not to win but would've taken that at the start if it mean Man. City dropping two points. Giroud though....on course for 30 goals this season. He has to be underrated if he does that surely, exceptional finish for the third goal. I might be going in full gharperr mode here but why do people just assume someone like Benzema would score 40 goals a season at Arsenal if Giroud is capable of 30?
