  1. Think that was Bacuna, West Ham player hit a very powerful shot from 25 yards and it hit Bacuna somewhere which lead to appeals, not intentional for me. Ogbonna should've been sent off though after the penalty was given surely, just checked and he was on a yellow.
  2. That's a really good point Mark. Remi's the sort of manager we needed if say we'd be in a similar position to when we potted Lambert e.g; a point or two off escaping the bottom 3. As you saw with McLeish you can stay up drawing a shed load of games and winning the odd one. We are just so far adrift though, eventually he'll have to do something random like go 4-4-2 or start 4 attacking players or something, we have to win some games soon. I have no problem with the effort the team are showing under him but sadly the quality Ayew and maybe now Veretout aside, simply isn't there.
  3. He's a bit slow with the subs for me. 70 minutes on I'd have got Grealish and Adama on at that point as we had the momentum and it just fizzled out apart from that Hutton header.
  4. Schneiderlin's a very good player, if anything for his energy. Man. United need that with their 30 year old + players in central midfield. I don't rate Memphis, maybe in time he'll develop into the next Ronaldo but he's miles off and that header back for the first goal is one of the worst pieces of defending I've seen in a while. Christian Santos is scoring a million goals in the Dutch league for NEC, no one's signing him for 20m +, think United got taken to the cleaners on that one.
  5. Ah I was more saying the initial foul may have come from Rudy as tbh he's not the type who outpaces many CBs so he did something to get ahead of Ogbonna. Certainly worth another look.
  6. Naismith not in the Everton 18 today, that might be one to watch over the next week.
  7. Be interested to see the penalty again, my initial impression (albeit from the North Stand so forgive me if not accurate) was that Gestede tugged back Ogbonna who then responded just as they got into the penalty area. Clever play by Rudy. However should that have not been a red? Ogbonna was on a yellow aswell, That's the sort of break we really needed, not just a penalty but opposition going down to 10 men aswelll.
  8. Doubt it, our defence will still be weak when people run at them. In any case we're already 10 points off even 17th so that's a very optimistic statement.
  9. Yeah I love the dribbling and everything he does but he's not a penalty box poacher really. Him and Benteke would've been brilliant together so imo we need to look and try and get someone who can poach goals in the 6 yard box in January, if not Charlie Austin then someone from abroad.
  10. Was very good today, think he'll chip in with a few goals in the second half of the season, similar to Cleverley. Only question I'd say however is is he looking good as Garde is stringing 4 across the middle. Because at some point we're going to have to start playing more attacking minded players from the start of the game, maybe even go 4-4-2 and that's when our central midfielders start to get outmuscled and outfought.
  11. We really had to win that with the momentum we had after the penalty, the Holte End was brilliant they did as much as they could. Way I see it Swansea had a similar type of game to us today, home to West Brom team who can't score or win many and were missing key players. They won that and are now out of the bottom 3 and I think they'll scramble clear with new manager bounce now. We can't win these type of games this season and are going down. The opportunity last two games has been to push on and get the 3 points, we're just not good enough 1-11, we're done at Premier league level.
  12. Bit harsh, they were limited but you do know they were missing their best centre half (Winston Reid), their playmaker (Payet), their best wide player (Victor Moses) and best striker (Sakho). This was a West Ham 11 without half of its first choice players, basically the equivilant of us losing Vlaar, Cleverley, D*lph and Benteke. The difference is West Ham will get those players back eventually this season and start picking up wins soon enough, we won't and are going down.
  13. You could've done with a world class CB in the Champions league surely? Conceding 3 at Wolfsburg, 2 at PSV (o.k Luke Shaw's injury disrupted things and was a big blow given how well he started the season). So what is your opinion of the decline this season because make no mistake Man. United are going one way and it isn't back towards Leicester and Arsenal. Amusingly quite a few are saying United are only 9 points off the top, yes but a couple of weeks ago it was only 3 or 4 points and playing Norwich and Bournemouth represented their easiest run of fixtures of the season. I think like many it's only a matter of time before LVB is potted. Can see you losing to Stoke as they raise their game against the better teams and then being nulified by Chelsea so think that will be 1 point out of 6, 1 win out of 7 and difficult to see him carrying on.
  14. Would anyone left on here believe we'd stay up if we don't win any of our next 3? Yes it would still be mathematically possible but we would have to go on a ridiculous run as we'd failed to win four 6 pointer games in a row. If we could just win tomorrow then 4 points from Sunderland and Norwich away games would suddenly seem realistic as we've done very well on those two grounds in recent seasons. 5 points is the minimum from the next 3 I think. 7 and yes we'd still be in the bottom three but we'd probably be off the bottom and suddenly a few of the teams above us wouldn't look so out of reach. Big ask though.
  15. You can't remember when we were actually winning a game or two?!
  16. O.K just think for a second...say Liverpool put him available for a loan move in January which I doubt very much. Why would he come back here to a team bottom of the league when plenty of good teams would be interested in him? You could say familarity but there's no D*lph, Vlaar or Cleverley anymore, all players Benteke respected I'd imagine and the manager has changed again. Can't really see the logic in people actually suggesting this. Heart very much ruling the head.
  17. Squad building was always a bit odd in my view, what happened to that world class CB next to Smalling, why was it Ramos or bust? And in the last 12 months you've let go of Hernandez, Welbeck, RVP, Falcao. Yes 3/4 of those departures were justified and LVG never rated Hernandez but where was that experience striker to come in and share the load with Rooney. That was a massive gamble that has failed dismally this season. And I don't rate Memphis so think whatever you signed him for was way OTT.
  18. Arsenal don't need a new striker. As far as I can see he's playing more often than not for Liverpool and has scored some goals already even if some of his performances have been nothing to write home about. He's not the first striker to be signed from a bottom half team and take time to adjust, manager changing hasn't helped either. It's laughable if anyone thinks he's coming back on here on loan. More chance of Stephen Ireland coming back!
  19. Can we actually send Llori back? I guessed he was one of the players Remi was on about.
  20. Maybe revelation in that he didn't think he was capable of such good form. I remember all the posts on here last season saying how rubbish he was compared to Benteke and how they couldn't believe Everton had paid 30m for him.
  21. The board will never sack him. Tbh given his overall record like Fergie, he's earnt the right to go when he wants which will probably be in the next 18 months when his latest deal runs out. It was a bit of an exaggeration to make a point but surely you realise this year is their best opportunity in a long while, have you not watched Man. City in the last 6 weeks?
  22. Even though I like him Mandanda is much better than Guzan. Can't see him joining us though, maybe if we were mid table.
  23. Managers do got past their sell by date though and that appears to me to be the case with LVG, probably dosen't help he's been out of the loop last 4 years managing a national team aswell. I said at the weekend it would be the same if a prem side appointed Capello. Another amazing manager in the 90s and into the 00s but he showed with England and Russia he was starting to get out of touch with modern football so think same would happen with a club team.
  24. DM for sure, played all his career infront of the back 4 although did score on occasions in Serie A. A reliable player in possession which is what we need given how erratic Sanchez is every 5 minutes in games.
