To say the wire is similar to Die Hard or the American ideology is wrong. At best its far too simplified. The basic message of the wire was that life is out of your hands, which would seem totally at odds with your analogy.

My god how I laughed driving home from the park with the dog today. All it took was 1 dozey flyer poster, 1 pair of earphones (in said dozey flyer posters ears) one road (in which said dozey flyer poster was standing with his back to me)....and 1 horn! I swear he jumped about a foot off the floor. (im still laughing writing this)

The problem is there aren't that many world class players around, and even less that would go to either of them clubs. The only way you can realistically do it is to buy a few top level youngsters and hope they mature into the role. Its a gamble, but finding a Suarez or bale was done the same way. It's the only option they have, but there will be a lot more failures than results.
