  1. In the modern world the logo has to translate from print to digital to clothing, otherwise there’s no consistency and will look utter rubbish. whatever they come up with, they can’t have it different anywhere it’s used, will look very amateurish. I don’t mind the current logo but did like the old one too.
  2. I’d straight up be charging £20m for Targett and get this guy in for a net cost of naff all
  3. Give him another season at Preston if he’s enjoying it. then he will be ready if he hits 20 goals in a season and we can cash in on one of our strikers. unless he is coming back to play regularly he’s young enough to loan for another season and learn his craft a bit more
  4. I’m sorry it’s a league game, league cup maybe but unless he’s carrying in injury it’s a disgrace. Luckily for us almost all results went against us today, but it was worth up to £8m in prize money for us at kick off.
  5. How novel that a club I thought had similar connotations to villa years ago threatened with relegation. and how with us playing Burnley twice. Their fate is quite literally in our hands. I hope for them and us we hammer Burnley twice and give them the chance to get ahead of them
  6. We need a run not just one win. hoping we can string 2-3 wins together and confidence is back. I know the league table is congested up to 8th really. we lost our momentum and it is very frustrating. Not for relegation but we want to keep the like of Coutinho and bring in more players. Harder to do when you finish 16th rather than 8th.
  7. We are five points closer to relegation than Europe now. Realistically 7 points is about all we are getting now for the season based on form for the last ten games. 43 points will likely get is 15th which is pretty poor for us all things considered.
  8. Just seen that we have (apparently) opened formal negotiations to permanently sign him.
  9. Yes, you play within a season so it’s about points vs other clubs. the conditions and climate is very different now and we need to work out a good strategy for managing games throughout the season. for me 9th or higher is very good to be honest. if we can add Coutinho on a free and sure up some contracts, as well as sourcing one really good player who can break up play then that’s an excellent end to 2021/22
  10. We have a good squad in midfield and we aren’t using it. If you don’t rotate then what’s the point of a decent bench? with our game in hand thursday it needed at least some changes, if needed be bring on the guns early second half.
  11. The fact we have a buy option at €33m for Coutinho is looking bloody lovely right now. closer to Europe than relegation is what two wins has done for us. Without it we were only a few points off it.
  12. Which is why the sanctions need to basically raze their economy to the ground. Short of all out war it’s all that can be done. ukraine will fall to the Russians. as someone pointed out on Twitter it does highlight that NATO whilst a defensive alliance offers no value to those not involved with it. and I’m not so sure what would happen should Russia dip their toe against a NATO member
  13. It does have a depressing inevitability about it. Ukraine will become russia at some point. I’ve read that the sanctions will really start to bite before the summer. Russian population will struggle to get every day items. Far more than covid ever could suppress demand. russian manufacturing will also grind to a halt and mass unemployment will be there before 2023. russia isn’t North Korea, they’re actually pretty integrated globally for their economy. if the west hold sanctions properly for a sustained period i think the Oligarchs may have enough of Putin
  14. Could be, Europe barely care about Syria so you could be right. and Putin has basically spent his money flattening that country for years but people still like to blame Obama for dipping in there. Syria appears to be Russias Iraq in terms of inflicting serious damage on a nation, albeit by the air. Europe would surely continue sanctions until Russia backs out of Ukraine. If they don’t then Russia will have a tough few years ahead. They’re going to struggle once global reliance on oil and gas diminishes. That said Ukraine has a pretty big chunk of Uranium to be selling afterwards….
  15. Because the rest of the world are going to smash them with sanctions, and the protests I’m seeing on Twitter from Russia are the biggest I’ve seen tbh. I’ve never seen protests larger than what I’m seeing right now. he may just be able to convince his population but globally he’s lost the dressing room completely.
  16. Let’s be clear Putin and his generals have absolutely lost their minds and they are trying to cover up everything they can from their own people. they’re talking about close to 4,000 dead Russians already. To put that into perspective the US lost 4,400 in the entire time they were in Iraq. they’ve got mobile crematoriums to cover their tracks and a 40 mile convoy by any military stretch is mind bogglingly stupid. theyre only solace is that they have more than likely taken out all of Ukraine airborne defence (drones, aircraft and helicopters). Syria was Russias Iraq, helping Assad take down anyone who opposed him. The longer it goes on, the sanctions will keep getting harder on Russia. They’ve lost nearly £200bn off their forecasted GDP and that’s inside a fortnight. Their economy is going to be in a very very bad way come the back end of 2022.

    Chelsea

From what I’ve read he absolutely cannot be in the UK.

    Chelsea

His assets have been frozen and he isn’t allowed to reside in the UK under the current sanctions. Not sure he can be writing cheques for Chelsea currently

    Chelsea

That’s how I see it. and he’s also barred from entering the UK as part of the sanctions
  20. We are potentially now five points off the drop. Given the game in hand Burnley have. need to win a couple and fast
  21. Before he got injured he was one of our best in form players. Granted seasons before he wasn’t great but certainly one of our best for November and December fixtures
  22. I never thought I’d say it before his pre injury’s form but it’s clear Nakamba is massive for us. not because of how he managed the DM role but that it unlocked everyone in front of him. this squad is far better than our current form and position. better than Southampton and better than Brighton. so on paper we should be 9th, and for me that’s about fair for this squad based on the teams above us right now. that means we need to beat both Brighton and Southampton to get to that position. i am so annoyed that we let our easiest calendar month of fixtures go down the swanny and we now have to do it against the tougher opposition. why can’t we just have one season that isn’t stressful as fook
  23. I’m genuinely worried now. Brighton, Southampton and Leeds. we simply need 4+ from those three games
