I was arguing with someone on FB who said he was basically rubbish apart from 3 months for Smith. But he was a season ticket holder which meant his opinion was fact so…. Trying to find this through ball today on video but can’t locate it. It was KDB peak
  2. Watkins was fab, (clinical) Konsa was excellent (what a through ball he played) Luiz was excellent everyone played well but those three for me were the stand outs. that is the standard. Was a brilliant team performance
  3. Could well do. Clarke passing is very crisp indeed and confident. Obviously he is in great form, be good to see him under some pressure, but Looking at him in this first half he is in cruise control.
  4. Clarke for Sunderland looks a good player. only seen him in this game but hes running rings around Wednesday.
  5. Good evening fellow VTers. With cost of living giving most of us an absolute savaging at the moment. I do have some skills in design. the Bro in law is a Liverpool fan so was going to produce a word cloud in a frame of key players who have played for both Villa and Liverpool. I think the centre word is probably going to be Milner, but is there a website or database (or perhaps pooling our great knowledge) where we can get a list of players who have played for both? I have tried a few of the usual websites but I cannot filter by two clubs they have played for, only one. Any links or info appreciated. I have this list, but must be missing some biggies Houghton Staunton Saunders Milner Benteke Downing Collymore Reina James Cole Warnock Ings
  6. If you swap our defensive injuries to those 9 we would have only 4. It looks find because our injuries are at the back. If we lose Watkins to injury or fatigue then we have very little for that position.
  7. Given the side he’s gone to he should get nowhere near Watkins. If he gets half the goals it will be very good.
  8. By that same logic that’s why Watkins will never be in the England squad until Kane retires. As Kane is a similar striker and role
  9. We must have because we are incredibly stupid if we’ve just let him go
  10. Have you even seen him play? He’s an absolute unit. He destroyed defenders at Middlesbrough add to that he’s as quick as anyone we have in our squad
  11. Qualify asap and rotate the hell out of those last few games

He will never pick him despite being one of the best English defenders of the past three years.
  13. Absolutely, especially when corners are coming in. Really doesn’t look comfortable.
  14. Well… hope Watkins doesn’t get injured because I personally see more in Archer as a quality striker than Duran.
  15. People that say we don’t need one are clueless. Unless we plan on getting dumped out of the cups early on. We have so many games to play.
  16. Yeah, it’s pissed me off he smashed the championship and we could have sold him for a song without giving him a decent run. his numbers were as good as anyone in the championship. I think only two strikers had a better G/A per minute than him in the last few years and one was Mitrovic when we went mental that one season. he’s worth more than £18m. That’s nothing really in 2023.
  17. Seems rather silly of us selling our second best striker when we could have an extra 15+ games this season compared to last. if Ollie gets injured then we will be struggling big time or having to spend three times Archer’ fee to get something decent in. I believe we will regret letting him go big time.
  18. Are the scratching any good? Always see him bellowing out, last time I went he had a mini cart. An upgrade on the basket so business must be booming
  19. He’s destroyed the championship, so that’s beneath him so he’s good enough to be playing for a Prem side. if rather it be us than Forrest or Fulham
  20. Chip Shed Warwick. Dripping cooked chips. Great curry sauce and fab fish
  21. Football for all its money still needs to be accessible and sell to a wider audience and be marketable. Saudi Arabia’s isn’t even an accessible country culturally let alone drawing in capacity crowds from abroad fans which the PL does offer for the big teams. Saudi will be making multiple billions a year in losses for well over a decade to even get 30% of the PL. sure they have the cash to try it but do they want to burn £100-200bn trying? Seems a bit of a stretch. MLS got a deal with apple at 2.5bn not even half the PL and they’ve been working hard for two decades to make that work, in a far far bigger sporting nation than Saudi. more money than brains I think
