  1. It’s a shame he’s not going, mainly because there’s only 2 strikers going. 4 right backs though.
  2. Thug

    Dwight McNeil

Which is the exact reason I don’t think we’ll be in for him. We already have a left footed tricky guy. If anything, we need a right footed tricky guy. edit: actually we do need backups
  3. Thug

    Dwight McNeil

Very good player Very one footed though.
  4. If you just say you don’t rate him as a player, then that is your opinion, and no one can argue against that. But your stated reasons for not rating him are just plain wrong. ’shooting is woeful’ https://www.footballcritic.com/premier-league/season-2020-2021/player-stats/wingers/shooting/shooting-accuracy/2/41756 He has the 4th best shot accuracy in the premier league amongst wingers who have played at least 1000 minutes. That’s better than Rashford, Harvey Barnes, Sterling, Foden, Salah, Mane and our very own Jack Grealish. And his conversion rate is better than all the above (apart from Foden) I could post screen shots here for every single stat showing that his passing, defending, heading and nearly every single objective means of measuring his performances has been better than many players that people on this board would cream their pants over, but feel free to browse them yourself to save me clogging up this thread. No doubt you will counter this by the usual ‘stats don’t tell the whole story’, and you’d be right. However, the stats back up my view that his shooting is closer to magnificent than to ‘woeful’. Can he be upgraded? Of course he can. But is his shooting woeful? No it bloody isn’t. Does he track back as much as he could? Well he does more defensive work than most wingers. Can he beat a man? Well he has more successful dribbles per game than Son and Auba. His actual weakness is that he just doesn’t seem to create chances for others. By all means, criticise him for that.
  5. If you’re not able to make 30 5 minute phone calls to players when that’s your only job.. What else did he have to do? Play golf?
  6. Both. parreira managed 11 goals and 6 assists in a pretty awful West Brom side.
  7. Exactly this. 10 goals in the premier league and people happy to sell for £15m Didnt we pay that much for Hogan? We paid £9.5m for Nzogbia in 2011 after he scored 9 goals in a season for Wigan. 2011. That’s about £40m in today’s money
  8. Why not? It’s not like he’s a lifelong Norwich fan. He’s already been up with them once and gone straight back down. He won’t want to be doing the same again. it’s a very short career as a footballer, he can’t waste it all yoyoing with Norwich. They couldn’t even invest enough to try to keep them in the premier league last time around. Nothing will change this time around either. He will be gone if the right apportunity presents itself. He’s a quality player. Must sign him.
  9. Actually our form coped fine with RBs injury. it was only when we tried to shoehorn him back in unfit when it started to suffer.
  10. Spurs without kane are like us without grealish. A bit meh.
  11. I too am curious as to which part of that post you found offensive? edit: never mind lol
  12. Then in early April, they would still have had a respectable goal count.
  13. ‘Only 13 goals between them’ someone needs to tell this joker that they have 19 league goals between them. El Ghazi has more goals than Foden, and the same number as Sterling (in significantly less minutes), and Traore has a very respectable 7 goals. If you’re gonna write like you’re in the know about something, at least get your facts right. Goals hasn’t been the problem for our wingers, consistency and all round involvement in the game is their short coming.
  14. And here is the exact reason why I get frustrated by posts like this. You argue that AEG’s all round game just isn’t good enough to warrant keeping despite his attacking quality. Yet here you are championing the purchase of a player that you’ve seen 2 YouTube videos of him smashing in a few goals, and know probably absolutely nothing about his all round game. You say keep quoting stats, so sure. AEG is not good enough despite his goal scoring because 1) he keeps giving the ball away. (He has a better pass completion than Rachica). 2) AEG doesn’t defend enough. (He puts in more tackles and blocks than Rachica) 3) He doesn’t compete in the air (he wins 3 times as many headers per match than Rachica) All the above in a league that is more competitive than the bundesliga. You want to replace one player that scores goals but does little else, with another player that does the same but for triple the price. For the record, I’d love for us to sign Rachica, but as an additional winger, who may prove to be a shrewd signing. But let’s not pretend he’s some kind of superstar based on a few YouTube clips. I suggest you go watch a few clips of AEG on YouTube, and all you’ll see are the positives of his game. And yeah, sorry for the sarcasm
  15. Based on the fact that Rashica has 2 goals and 1 assist in 1323 minutes of Bundesliga football, and has nice YouTube videos. Exactly the type of player that we need. Really really wants to be here too from what I gather. Exactly the type of person I’d want in the trenches with me. So I too wish we trade our 1 goal every 2 games in the premier league player plus a wad of cash on this guy. You know it makes sense.
  16. ALWAYS the same. why do our midfielders mark their most dangerous players???
  17. Thug

    Matty Cash

He’s had a very good season but he’s very hot headed. He will do something very strange very frequently. He’s already an asset, but he will be much better when he irons this shit out.
  18. Agreed. I think it’s time we step into the £30-50m player brackets now. Need 3 of these this summer rather than 5-6 £20m players
