  1. Allardyce. No other option at all as far as I'm concerned. Get him in, steady the ship for 3 seasons, then move on. And do it before Sunderland do... otherwise they will stay up, and we won't.
  2. We got 99 problems... but Gestede aint one.
  3. Im very confused about the criticism Rudy gets. From what I saw - he was by far our best player yesterday. Scored 2 goals, defended better than one of our central defenders. Made some lovely touches up front. And he gets blasted again. He may be "limited" - but he's a lot less limited than the rest of our strikers put together. Our best player yesterday.
  4. Me either. He's a complete headless chicken with little to no end product. What might be a useful contribution from a complete headless chicken? And how can a chicken be complete with no head? Well, if the rest of him is complete, then he is indeed a 'complete headless chicken', but an 'incomplete chicken'.
  5. I don't mind if he walks out in three or four years time. It means that he has done well. I much prefer that to him being sacked after 1 yr - cus that means he was shit and we had another crap season.
  6. Heard this on talksport yesterday... would be really disappointed with this.
  7. Lets clear one thing up. Randy is no Branson or Sugar. Randy did not MAKE billions He was just lucky enough to be born into a family where he inherited a fortune, and an already successful business which is more than likely just looking after itself by the infrastructure put into place long before he had anything to do with it. There are probably extremely astute, and highly qualified people working for the company who make all the decisions that continue the success of the company. This is a far cry from what is happening at Aston Villa. He has people running the club/advising him about how to run it who have no idea about football. He takes advice from someone who has no interest in the future of Aston Villa with regards to who he should appoint as manager? (SAF on AML) How pathetic. A GOOD businessman finds people who know the business to run the business. A GOOD businessman doesn't ask his competitors about what is good for his own business. A GOOD businessman doesn't upset his clients by doing exactly what they don't want. The man may have good intentions - but he clearly has NO clue.
  8. Appalling manager. His track record suggested he would be, and he went on to prove that the fans fears were not unfounded. However, he was not at fault for his appointment. I, for one, will not be blinded by the relief of his departure. Whoever made the decision in the first place is the person to blame for our appalling season - not McLeish. Everyone and their dog knew what McLeish offers. The decision to hire him was as ridiculous as the thought of Randy hiring Nick Leeson as operations manager for MBNA. The lack of any other 'heads rolling' suggests to me that it was Randy's decision - which is a worry. Clueless at the top - and the relief of McLeish leaving does not change this fact. Let us hope this is a lesson learned.
  9. err no. I compared the style of football to that of Mourinho not the quality of the manager. Obviously they are poles apart. But the brand of 'anti-football' is in my opinion similar. ok? Lol @ similar.
  10. If at any point in his career he had done anything to suggest that he could do what you are suggesting he may, then I'd agree with you. He has demonstrated wherever he has been that his preferred methodology is to soak up pressure, and hope to win by nicking a goal at a set piece - hence the disproportionally high draw rate. What you fail to see is that the best we have to look forward to is more of the same, but done more efficiently. What angers me more than anything else, is that he is not even good at what he does best! If we wanted to pursue this dross, there were and are better options out there. There is no need to wait 9 months to let the team express themselves. They already are expressing themsleves. In 9 months they may be more eloquent in what they are expressing, but the 'sermon' will still be the same.
  11. If the 3rd one was McLeish, it would be far from pathetic.
  12. Voted No - out. "Don't judge those who try and fail, judge those who fail to try"
  13. well... thats the way we've been playing all season... why doesn't he give them a few 'home truths' before he starts the game? Why wait until half time?
  14. If GH was in charge we wouldn't have wasted a half smacking the ball up to their goalkeeper every few minutes. Once we started to pass and move, we looked a 100% better, then we scored and it all went back to the usual smack it up the field shit again.
  15. So he's going to replace Makoun, Downing and Luke Young before 11pm Wednesday? Righttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt Not Downing of course! I meant Makoun. We SOLD Downing to get some money in and we probably aren't going to spend it. Just ACCEPT that - we DO NOT HAVE THE CASH. You might not like it but move on! The hope is clearly that with Gabby contributing more and adapting to play wide, Nzogbia is the replacement for Downing and Young combined - of course none of us like that, but we are CUTTING DOWN. Why can't people get that?!!!!! What I am saying is that the Makoun loan deal is being done to get someone else in. This is a forum, where people EXPRESS THEIR CONCERNS and VENT THEIR FRUSTRATION. Why can't people just get that?!!!!!

 What a sentence. You are one fast talker.
  17. Yep. Be nice to go one summer without selling one of our best players, not sure it will ever happen though. We're simply a stepping stone for players to push onto the Champions League as we cant afford to get there ourselves. Cant say i really blame players for being ambitious, as a fan I just want to see some loyalty, but I guess the reality is there isnt any. Loyalty to what? If he hadn't performed, we'd be screaming for his head. Look at Beye. How much 'loyalty' did WE show Sidwell, Davies, Carew etc? If you play shit, you get dumped. And I would not expect it any other way. You could argue that Beye is being VERY loyal to Aston Villa FC, you don't see anyone comment about what a pro he is! I mean, he hasn't argued about his contract at all!! Football clubs, and fans, are shockingly hypocritical when they speak about loyalty. Truth of the matter is that we should not expect loyalty. We can expect people to be honourable (i.e. we pay you to do a job, you do it to the best of your ability at all times) - but loyalty is completey the wrong term. So long as he doesn't refuse to honour his contract, continues to try his hardest for us, doesn't suck scouse cock in public, and we get suitable compensation for any early termination of his contract with us, I couldn't care less if his loyalties lay with Colonel Gadaffi.
  18. Should have got Holloway, but have a 'gagging' clause in his contract which prevents him from speaking to any living thing.
  19. We will not appoint him. We will interview him. Read the statement.
  20. I'd like to sponsor the cauldron - who do I speak to? (edit sp.)
  21. What's all this nonsense about he's only scored so many goals because he's remained fit?? Surely a players ability to remain fit is just as important to his ability to score goals? I mean, I'd rather have a striker that plays 38 league games and scores 19, than one who plays 10 premier league games and scores 10 but spends the rest of the time on the physios table.
  22. I LOVE that lion shirt. Awesome.
  23. No next Tuesday after the Japan game and before they leave for Sud Afrika I hate spelling mistakes. I think you mean Sud Ifrika.
