Bizarelly, he was on TalkSport either the day before or on the day of the game. The presenters asked him randomly about whether he had considered playing three at the back. I kid you not, it was almost like he had a Eureka! moment... lo and behold... we started with three at the back.

As poor as those three are, was he actually ever better than any of them? Or is it the same wishful thinking that people had when they were crying about Kozak not being in the team ahead of Gestede - and we all know how that panned out. I don't remember much of how he played to be quite honest, but from what I do recall - I saw nothing that suggested he was anywhere near the quality that his price-tag suggested.
