I’d much rather win something than finish 4th in something. Why else do we follow the club? You can finish 4th and go out of the Champions League group stages like Newcastle any season, it will be quickly forgotten. An FA Cup will be in the history books forever.

One of the common complaints I hear from conservatives is that wealthy celebrities and billionaires lecture people about making sacrifices for the good of the environment whilst they don’t actually make those sacrifices themselves. I guess an article about Swift using her private jet to go to football matches is tapping into that sentiment from their reader base.

It’s the same point I made above about the Jewish Israeli who has grown up with people threatening to kill them and regularly having to rush to bomb shelters. We can’t put our own experiences on these people and then judge them when they don’t live up to our own expectations.

Newcastle and Liverpool did a number on our high line. We were also a bit lucky against Spurs. There’s 4 clubs who were not too troubled by it.

Remember that time Spurs were nailed on for 3rd only to be knocked into 4th by Arsenal and missed out on a Champions League place because Chelsea won the comp the year before and took the spot from back in 6th. I can’t imagine how livid their fans must have been

The US President doesn’t have the power to spend money on buying equipment for Ukraine but he does have the power to sell any ‘unneeded’ equipment to a foreign country for whatever price he sees fit. It’s not something Biden has done yet but he always has the option up his sleeve if congress is not going to play ball.
