You watch what team he puts out. He played our best 11 in both legs of the Chelsea FA cup matches despite having Newcastle and Man U as the following matches in the league (both of which we lost). He will take the Ajax game seriously. -

We played our best 11 in both legs of the Chelsea match. The FA Cup was not expendable, we just lost unfortunately. -

The Champions League is not as big deal as you think. It’s the Premier League’s global reach that is important and unfortunately we missed the boat when the Premier League exploded in popularity. Us finishing 4th this season, after the ship has long sailed, is not going to make anywhere near as much difference as you are hoping and expecting it to. -

The U.K. broadcasting deal gives each TV channel a certain number of fixtures they have bought the rights to televise at the start of each season. The Man City Brentford match was not optioned by any of the broadcasters and they don’t get a free hit to one of them just because the kick off time was changed.

Chelsea have been heading in the right direction lately. You get the feeling they will be back up amongst it next season. Still have a young squad so not very consistent but they are getting better.

A potentially more interesting thought is what might have been had there been a Starmer Labour 5 years ago instead of a Corbyn Labour, fighting that crucial election against Boris Johnson. Would Labour have possibly won 5 years ago? The Tories seemed a chaotic mess at the time. If Labour had won would the UK perhaps even still be in the EU in some form today?

I remember when Ferguson was still active as Man U manager and people were loathed to give him any acknowledgment or credit as well. It’s only when he retired and was no longer managing a rival team that opposing fans were able to eulogise him. There will be another hated manager in 10 years time who fans will all be unwilling to give any credit to and will argue he’s not a patch on the great managers of the past like Guardiola or Klopp
