NSWE had nothing to do with Terrace View, Lower Grounds or the crest design?

The General FFP (Financial Fair Play) Thread
Don_Simon replied to Marka Ragnos's topic in Other Football
Am I stupid? Surely the teams with the highest revenue when FFP was introduced were in a much better place than all others? They had the most revenue at the time and therefore could spend the most money whereas everyone else plays catch up. In addition, teams pre-FFP created their fortune at a time when there was no FFP, so had advantages (Sovereign state funds, Russian war sympathisers, etc), that teams don't have now. Can someone tell me why I'm wrong, please. -

The General FFP (Financial Fair Play) Thread
Don_Simon replied to Marka Ragnos's topic in Other Football
Ooooh, I like a challenge. Given I have zero experience and expertise in this role, nor being paid any money to come up with solutions, I imagine my idea will fall short of your expectations. However, I'll give it a go: Teams compile their list of expenses for the season ahead and place the money in a holding account with the Premier League. Thus evidencing they have the requisite money to get through the season. If they can't do that, they are docked points at the start of the season. Done. I've fixed FFP and your sneaky challenge has been met. What a day. -

No, the alternative is something different to both of those options. It's not "FFP or nothing". -

FFP only works if all clubs have the same revenue. Introducing it when they did, the horse had already bolted. I don't know what the answer is, but it's not FFP. -
"Sounds like" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

I'm going to do what Shaquille O'Neal does. He said in an interview his kids won't get a penny of his $$$ until they have Masters Degrees and are able to pay their own way without the money. (I'll be telling them this from my terrace in Florence when I'm playing in the famous purple of La Viola).

So credit really goes to those involved in recruiting Unai Emery. Come back Mr Purslow, all is forgiven.

I've often thought this. They are paid SO MUCH. If it were me, this is my journeyman journey once I've dominated European football: First stop, Seattle Sounders in the the beautiful Washington State. A bit of football, but mostly hiking and outdoor pursuits. Then off to play for Bordeaux and get on the epic wine. Sign up for much less money but hit Buenos Aires and don the red and white of River Plate. Hitting Africa and becoming a Kaiser Chief legend. Back to Europe to play in my favourite city, Cadiz, for a season. I'm retiring as a superstar on the bench at Villa Park earning a tenner a week but at one with the Holte Enders in The Sky. Or, do a Henderson and head to Saudi. 1-0 Don Simon.

This is for a different topic I'm sure, but, many Champo's ago I brought a young Bruno Fernandes toVilla Park from Lisbon. He was a Holte End hero for my all conquering Villans. So, when it became clear in real life he was a cretinous little ****, it took me a while to drop Champo Bruno and accept Man Utd Bruno.

At this point let's just have NS do everything. Physio: Tyrone back on the pitch in days. Hospitality: Get a beer in seconds in the Holte End. Stadium Design: We'll have a 27 tier North Stand by summer 2024.

The homophobic rhetoric whenever the club posted a "pride" image, was appalling. Completely with you on that.

If Solanke can continue this form that signing will look more and more like a brilliant piece of business. On this form, I'd consider him for Villa if / when Ollie leaves.

I like that this is a two stage post, but wasn't edited. So you wrote you were pretty sure, checked, confirmed, posted. The tension was palpable after the first full stop.

This is it. We're seemingly kicking the can down the road to be, potentially, in the exact same situation in five years that we are now. It's maddening.
