The club obviously won’t, but the team might. Will 8th or 9th be enough to keep Martinez, Konsa, Watkins etc out of the clutches of other clubs come next summer? I’m not so sure. For the record, I would be more than happy with that sort of league finish but just worry that it won’t be enough to keep the buzzards away.

He’s a young lad, they’re inconsistent. I’ve seen a lot of comments that he needs loan, judging by the amount of games he started last season I think DS thinks differently.

I’m not meaning to knock AEG (who is another player who seems to get nothing but stick) , but take away the penalties and Traore is our 2nd top scorer last year. Sure he is not perfect, but I would say he had a decent debut season for us. I’m willing to see what he can do this year with an open mind, but I feel I’m in the minority there.

It’s the just the way it looked on my phone was that Martinez looked a bit off centre. Probably just a poor attempt at humour on my part mate.

There is absolutely no way we sign those two for £70m-£80m, Brighton sold a cb for £50m and JWP is Southampton’s captain and most valuable asset.

Where has this Gary Cahill moving into a coaching role thing even come from? I’ve not seen anything that has said he wants to even do that but I’ve seen it stated several times on this site since JT left.

As far as I’m aware the fits on the shirts are the same as previous years, so go one size up from your normal clothes size for the stadium shirt and 2 sizes up for the Pro shirt. As you’ve bought the jackets etc, are they also a size up from your usual clothes size or are they true to normal clothes sizes? I’m usually a medium in my other clothes so would I need a medium or a large for the match day jacket?

I don’t mean it in a negative way against the club, but all these things from any clubs own website have a propaganda element to them - they drive the narrative. You’re never going to get anything all that ‘juicy’ or even particularly interesting from these types of interviews.

We are a professional club from top to bottom now. We keep silent on the whole, but address things that need addressing. It shows that he respects us as supporters, he didn’t have to do that.

Apologies if asked previously but how does the sizing on the kappa match day jackets compare with the kappa shirt sizes? I’m a medium normally, so I bought an XL Pro shirt which fitted well.

Unfortunately my interest in Jack’s career ends here. I wish him well, but I’m an Aston Villa fan who loved Jack as an Aston Villa player, I couldn’t give 2 ***** what he does in another clubs shirt. I hope this isn’t a moment that we look back on similar to when Milner left as the start of a period of decline, but with the owners, Lange and DS I don’t think that will be the case. -
I can hold my hands up and admit that I haven’t always been his biggest fan, but the man has my support now more than ever before, and he needs all of ours. This is a massive season for us, everyone in the country is expecting us to drop down the table now our ‘one man team’ is leaving, but I believe Dean will take the team forward. We have to remember we are going to lose games and we are going to have periods where we are not playing well, but he’s proven on several occasions that he is the right man for the job.

I’m well past the stage of doubting DS and Lange, if he’s who they want them get they’ve got my support. The club won’t overpay, I think they’ve already proven that with our business over the last 12 months.

Again Dave, I have to disagree mate. It’s obviously just my opinion, but when it comes to all around play Tammy isn’t as good as Ollie. In a perfect world, I would love to bring Tammy back to the club, but he would be Ollie’s understudy - it wouldn’t be a job share. The last bit of your post that I highlighted, couldn’t that be used to argue absolutely anything?

I just cannot agree with this I’m afraid Dave. Ollie Watkins is one of the first names on the team sheet for me, even if he goes 10 games without a goal. His pressing and all around play completely changed our attack last season. You say 38 games as if that is treacherous, without European football it’s basically 1 game per week as he is unlikely to feature in any early cup rounds. I appreciate the need to have a capable backup for him, but if we were to do what you propose then I think we would end up with both Ollie and Tammy unhappy with their game time, as I feel that Tammy will go somewhere to play.

This, especially if Jack goes. Assuming he does I’d be delighted if we could hit the 55 point mark, but then worry that wouldn’t be enough for Europe and interest starts in Watkins, Martinez, Konsa etc.
