On the other side of the coin, Lescott could have stayed up as well, he could have stayed on his feet and tried to tackle for the ball but he knew he couldn't match Jack for pace and so he threw himself in the way in order to halt the run of play, not in an attempt to get the ball... That, once again in my opinion, is a foul.

But Lescott went to ground to tackle, didn't get the ball and provided an obstruction to Grealish from running onwards... Thats a foul in my opinion...

Why Naismith? He seems to be very down to earth guy and he does a lot of charitable work. Just dont like the player... Don't like his hair, his face or the fact he scored against us last season... Like someone else said, he may be a nice guy if you sat down and spoke to him and had a cup of coffee and whatnot... but as a fan watching a player? Nah...

This. The only debate with that incident was whether or not he deliberately got himself fouled, and afaik there isn't a rule against doing that anyway. There's a big difference between drawing a foul and diving. Vs WBA it was the latter. But he didn't dive mate, there was contact that caused him to go to the ground... If there hadn't have been, it would have been a dive. Had Lescott been a bit more careful about his tackle, he could have got the ball and the tackle would have been legal... but he didn't... One way or another, he clipped Jack and brought Jacks run to an abrupt end... but Jack got the blame for it and sent off by a referee who had become a bit card happy up to the end of the game anyway.

However, on Saturday, on Earth, Lescott didn't get the ball... He committed to a tackle, hit the floor, missed the ball and got the player... He didn't mean to get the player, but he got him nonetheless... He will have to work on his tackling... That's just nonsense. May aswell outlaw any attempt at tackling if that's case. Explain your logic. We already have rules for this. Just because someone misses a tackle doesnt mean the opposing player has a right to ensure contact and the free kick. Its a bit hard to avoid contact when the person missing the tackle is built like a fridge freezer and has thrown himself in front of you... In my opinion, it wasnt meant as a tackle for the ball anyway; he was trying to get in Jacks way... When Jack was drawing fouls against Hull earlier this season, A lot of people thought it best thing since sliced bread... Now an opponent makes a mistake and he does the same and people are criticising the lad... I have no problem with a good clean tackle... Even if its a strong one... but the bottom line with a tackle is that you get the ball... If you tackle someone, don't get the ball and impede their play, its a foul...

Diving insinuates no contact... There was contact between Grealish and Lescott on the way to Jack hitting the deck... Whether that is because Lescott tackled poorly, missed the ball and hit him accidently OR Lescott tackled poorly, missed the ball and Jack clipped him on purpose to play for the foul... The fact remains, Jack was impeded from running onwards because of a poorly timed tackle from an opposition player... We should have had a free kick and Jack should never have been sent off...

This... I sit next to a Bluenose at work and he has been winding me up since Gary Rowett has pulled them kicking and screaming out of the relegation zone and Lambert had us wounded and going the other direction... He isn't being half as cocky or as much of a smartarse recently...

Lambert brought in Karsa and Culverhouse and they were sacked because they were allegedly bullying players and club staff Lambert brought in Keane and he left early; once again, allegations were made that he rubbed people up the wrong way, acted aggressively towards staff and players. Sherwood is here for just under a month and has brought in people who know and love the club. Lambert didn't deserve another chance after his track record of giving key roles to rocket polishers and bullies...

Having been in that same position before, I can confirm that there is absolutely nothing as riotously hilarious as giving work a haphazard excuse as to why you need to miss a few days after your partner has a miscarriage. DEFINITELY something that needs to be brought up again and again every time your name is mentioned What?? There is such a thing as citing 'personal reasons', 'a loss in the family' etc without having to lie about another SPECIFIC member of your family dying which could actually backfire (and in this case, DID backfire). Its not the fact that he had the time off that caused the problem; its that he lied about his nan dying to cover for something else entirely. If he was a hell of a lot less specific but maintained that the incident was a serious one; that, 9 times out of 10, would have been enough and nobody would have held it against him...

Are we any closer to understanding exactly what happened? Heard through paper-talk (which is probably just utter shash, but you never know) that he ruffled the feathers of Delph (who accused Roy to 'trying to mug (him) off') in training and also interrupted in a conversation between Lambert and Gabby which resulted in Gabby telling him: 'Excuse me, I am talking to the boss'... Which Roy took exception to... Then there is the Tom-Cleverly-turning-up-at-his-house-for-a-chat thing... It sounds like the players didn't like being told that they weren't giving enough and that they hid behind Lambert for protection...

Man City breached FFP and got a suspended slap on the wrist and told they couldn't take an extra three players into the Champions League... Why shouldn't we be able to do it if we get an oil magnate? All we need is someone with a shedload of cash who is willing to show the middle finger to UEFA and sign a cheque then they complain that we didn't abide to FFP...
