  1. Does anyone else think he sort of looks like Super Hans?
  2. I did the same at Dortmund airport. Got to see Shinji! I met Kyle Walker at Alton Towers just after the season he was on loan with us.... I also met Ken Hom in Woolworths... He was shopping for DVDs...
  3. but its ok to go into the Sinclair thread and moan that people not giving a player a chance after a pre-season game yet you moan about a player we havent even signed yet That is probably the poorest comparison I have read on here. Your comparing a current player in a meaningless friendly to a 34 year old who doesn't even play for us?? Looool your hilarious zatman some if the stuff you come out with! So its OK to say a player is shit because he doesnt play for us but its not OK to say a shit player is shit just because it was a friendly Comparing a existing player in a meaningless friendly to a link to a player who i feel is past his best is completely different. This is quite a bizarre post from you Zatman But anyway Trent said this is rubbish so there is no point continuing this discussion I personally don't think he is past his best... He was never pacey but can be immense on his day with his reading of the game... He looked shite because he was with an abysmal Fulham squad... If we are in for him and Adebayor, and both are Sherwoods decision... I say roll with it... Its Timmys first transfer window and has turned it all upside down to be fair... Players who are relatively unknown to the man on the street coming from all sides... If we get Adebayor and Berba both in I am intrigued as to how things will unfold... The thing is mate even when he was younger he never use to put a shift in, and now at 34 he sure hell wont in my view. Think it would have been a pointless signing, would rather Kozak as cover for ayew and adebayor I understand where you are coming from... but just because at times he never pulled all of his weight, it didn't mean he was ineffectual... He is always criticised for being a lazy striker - and he is to be fair - but he is still a striker who knows where the net is and can bring others into play... Weimann used to put a shift in, but did achieved bugger all for the effort!

  5. No good enough... He has already shown how much his words are worth and how he can't be trusted on the crap that spews from his mouth
  6. I speculate optimism with Tim, Ray and Tom in charge... Haven't felt this excited about a season in ages... New fresh squad, new ideas, slinging out the dead wood, positivity... Although we lost Tekkers, his leaving has allowed us to bolster the squad in others areas that we needed; I am confident that we will be more competitive this season...
  7. If he really 'cared' about the club and its fans, he would do a Mellberg-like gesture and refund all of the shirt sales made with his name on the back after his bullshit 'loyalty' speech.
  8. Sometimes people say things they mean at the time but then change their minds. I know i am very much like that. Anyway I know people have strong feelings about this so i won't debate it any further. He earns too much money and has too many people riding on his decisions to be allowed to do that...
  9. I honestly don't understand what he's done to warrant being called a clown? Running the length of a pitch to celebrate in front of fans of a club who made you famous in the first place doesn't help... However, in saying that, if he signs for us along with a couple of other strikers who can learn from him and develop because of him... I'm all for it... and he can run the full length of the pitch to gloat in front of Citeh fans (and/or directly in the face of Fabian Delph) all he likes...
  10. Is that like Djemba fever? so bad I got it twice. To be fair, I can't compare the two... Dengue fever was quite possibly one of the worst illnesses I have ever had in my life and I would never wish it upon anybody... Djemba-Djemba was quite possibly one of the worst players I have ever seen in my life and I would never wish him on anybody...
  11. Yup.... After MON basically forgot that people in other countries played football (and Lambert forgot what the actual sport of football was) - its nice to see our manager and his backroom team showing they are willing to spread the net a bit further afield...
  12. Just seen the picture of him in a Liverpool kit... Haven't felt this ill since I had dengue fever...
  13. According to SSN, he has decided to make a comment vis-a-vis Delph saying he 'made the right decision'. What is it with Given?... He did pretty much the same thing about Gareth Barry when City signed us and criticised us for having a go.... Its almost like he doesn't like our club having good players...
  14. Yes... to be fair... He has just signed a contract to play for and do right by Aston Villa after Man City stuck him on the scrapheap and fobbed him off to Italy for a season... He should have dragged Citys name through the mud in any attempt to put Delph off even going there for an initial interview so that he could be a team mate of Delphs in the upcoming season... He could have told Delph what it 'used to be like a few seasons ago' but that 'its different now, and you only had to look at the other players that were England regulars who have left to see what playing for City does to your international career' You know Micah... Spin the yarn... In the favour of the people who now pay your wages!
  15. Really?? I would have thought they would have paid extra... Cuntbag of a club....
  16. Thats nice.... and had he been retiring. or moving abroad. i'd say the same.... as is? When the ink is dry and the cheque is cleared, he could burst into flames for all I care... He wont be Villa anymore... Let me get my little violin out for you. A football player born in Belgium, who is a very good player, wants to leave a team based in Birmingham who have been shit the entire time he's been here, to go to a team who historically, recently and in the future will shit all over us. "He won't be Villa anymore" - He was never "Villa" - whatever that even means. Well, for the past few years, he has been playing for us at Villa Park, training in Bodymoor Heath, in our kit - I would say that would be enough to classify him as a Villa player. Now he is signing for a team that play in the same league as us... He won't be playing for us anymore, he is now against us... I don't need a violin thanks; I'm quite comfortable with not giving a toss about him or his career now we are no longer a part of it. So, once again; sign the contract and let the ink dry, allow the club enough time to cash the cheque and then he can bugger off... He will be gone, and AVFC will still be here... We don't need to wish him well... We have done plenty of that for him while he has been here... It will be Liverpool fans responsibility to do that for him in the near future...
  17. Hope Clark shatters his leg first time we play them! and Kozak scores a hattrick...

  19. Won an FA cup? Sacked his dickhead of an agent? Signed a lifelong contract without a release fee or expiry date? I don't mind players leaving if they aren't getting football here ala Luna, Weimann et al. They will get all the well wishes in the world from me because they just want to play and they aren't getting the opportunity here... Its the people who leave us for more money and to win things with other clubs who can, to be fair, get f**ked couldnt agree more. He should stay here in his dead-end job instead of trying to better himself elsewhere Dead end job... Don't talk garbage... I'd love to know what your job is if being a professional footballer on megabucks a week is 'dead end'... Are there any vacancies going?

  21. Yes he was... But just like every other player that doesn't make the grade and wants to leave to play football (e.g. Weimann, Albrighton)... I wish him well Its the bastards who leave to earn more money and win things without us that can get ****...
  22. This! Aston Villa paid for him and continued to pay him, he signed the contract extension... ergo... he is and agreed to be property of our great club... That prick (and Bentekes countryman) Jean-Marc Bosman is all to blame for this... If he had just shut the hell up and known where he stood, Benteke and plenty of our other great players would have left when Villa were ready for them to... not when they wanted to...
  23. Of course you would. Stop thinking short term and think long term. Huge difference in your life between 3mil and 6mil To your back account yes but outside of greed, what difference could it make to your life? Far too simplistic. People have different standards of living. Once you earn more, you spend more. The nature of being human/living in a capitalist society is that we will strive for more or generally accept things that make us "better off". The problem is that most people can't comprehend having an income of £3m a year. But that's my point, once money becomes no object other than greed, why do you need more? Say you have 10 billion, do you need to double it? What could you then buy that that 10 billion couldn't already afford you? Taking a massive chunk out of third world debt for a fraction of it?
