  1. I'm not saying it ain't right, but I've never seen Battlestar Galactica put on a list with the Wire and BB. Opinions, anyone?
  2. a poll Radio 1 did for new years day in 1990 when they asked their listeners what the greatest singles of all time were. Bros came in first and second. I'm pretty confused now. You seem to be saying the Bros weren't actually all that good
  3. The prison episode is the best, but it keeps a decent pace to the end of the season
  4. Clearly not selling. The touts will be awash with tickets, turn up just after he comes on an buy one for a fiver. Alwasy works for the big open air shows. My winner was REM for 80p at old trafford cricket club.
  5. not sure about TV themes being good, as such, but there are sure some memorable ones (these examples are not for the young 'uns) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykLCAfVa410
  6. Its all about the money and the party, not the race. You have to be there.
  7. That's the classic scene. It was the spiderman that hat me laughing for half an hour.
  8. Well, you pretty much volunteered to pay for something, and it sounds like a fairly low cost result.
  9. ....and Nico Rosberg last season of course. I suppose that's a fair vt cop because I didn't make the blatantly obvious clarification that i meant Schuey at his peak. Or maybe on today's showing, schuey was still good, just that Nico really has something.
  10. Oh c'mon, I know you aren't that naive. Really, they're people. I've spoken to a few.
  11. I've tended to go for well done, but often they come medium anyway. The last time I had one it really was well done and for the first time I thought, this is overcooked. I'll back off next time.
  12. Anthony, point 1 - good point. Dumb of me. point 2. another good point point 3. Hmm, it still makes me feel there's an agenda here. A lot of people do seem to believe that the government are evil and are out to destroy the country. In reality, MPs are just people trying to do a job. Maybe not very well, but its an impossible job to get actually right, and no-one really knows how to do it. But essentially they do things because they think its for the overall common good, and not because they're out to get us.
  13. Excuse me for being slightly sceptical about these exhibits (I took a look through a few of them). In each case the people got defended and got their justice, and the lack of legal aid was not an issue. Some specific incidents are difficult to believe, such as Exhibit C (the "paedophile") in which both prosecuting and defending barristers go to court without having seen the photographs. That seems to make them rather incompetant, if the stories are true. Since all the stories are about closed cases, the judgements will now be a matter of public record, so why the need for this one sided view of events. Why not reference the actual cases?
  14. I've always rather disliked Greatest Hits type albums. Always feels rather like milking it.
  15. ....and Nico Rosberg last season of course.
  16. I can remember being there. There's a lot of subtlety in the Libs melodies and it takes quite a few listenings to get it. Then it moves from meh! to music you listen to compulsively.
  17. Can't say I agree with a lot of this. I've enjoyed most best man's speeches and I like it when they last a while and they've made some effort to put some gags in - not jokes as such but funny stories or comments. Remember, you're working a really easy audience who want you to do well and had a few drinks in them already.
  18. Everton will crash and burn without him. Their best players will go (some to Utd) without Moyes to keep them there.
  19. Apparantly Furgeson will get a standing ovation at the end of the final game of the season... around the 97th minute
  20. I agree. That last episode was basically using the Marquez ending from A Hundred Years of Solitude (aka the best ending a book ever had). But the very very end was pants, as you say. Its obvious that
  21. Yes, series one was good and two was decent. Not one the very best, but watchable.
  22. Or could it be michael peter brian telescope adrian blackpool rock stoke cobbler raw vegetable...etc...etc smith, the very silly candidate. But no! he'd be in the slab of concrete.
  23. Is that Tommy McCardle visiting the Grants? Classic sequence of episodes.
  24. Very rude. If you want to talk to people like that call them, don't go to speak in person. Even if they're three desks away - if they ask why it gives you a clear chance to tell them. If I'm talking to someone and the phone rings, I say 'just let me see who it is', answer it, say 'I'm with someone right now, I'll call you back'. Now I've learned I have to write down the name of the caller or I'm in great danger of forgetting the call back part.
