  1. I got lucky in the end to hold on there. Thanks for setting this up again BOF and I look forward to doing it again next season.
  2. It looks like I've lost it in the last race, thanks to shitty driving from Hulkenberg. Oh well, hopefully I'll finish in the top three. Shame to lose the lead like this though...
  3. The fourth season is still going ahead. Chevy is already in 10-11 of the 13 episode run, yet I guess he'll just vanish from the show as they haven't filmed an exit episode as far as I know. The fourth season is airing early next year now in the States, although I'm starting to fear they may be the last one with all that's gone on. I bet NBC are kicking themselves for not standing next to Dan Harmon. Now they've lost them both...
  4. If any of you are 'Community' fans like myself then there's some bad news (depending on if you like the character), Chevy Chase (Pierce) has left the show....
  5. Those figures are very misleading when you take into consideration how many handsets and such Android is actually used on as opposed to iOS. There are far more Android devices so you would expect their market share to be higher. I've had a go on both the Nexus 7 and the iPad Mini and actually prefer the latter. The screen isn't as sharp as on the Nexus 7, yet the shape seems nicer to me. I'm big on films and am quite a perfectionist but the iPad Mini screen looked pretty crisp displaying films anyway. Plus the build quality is much better and I can't see the issues with holding it in your hand at all. I'm now considering getting the iPad Mini as I know I'll be sticking with Android phones. This would allow me to have two different OS experiences in my portable devices. I know it's paying a premium for an Apple product that has old tech but sometimes it's nice to own a flashy product. Now, onto phones. The Nexus 4 is really tempting me although I know I should probably wait. I've currently got the Galaxy S2 and my contract expires around May/June next year if I remember right. Would you splash on the Nexus 4 or wait to see what comes out between now and then?
  6. I'm doing it this year but mine is rubbish so far. It won't grow fast enough, yet the hair on the rest of my face seems to grow rapidly. I'm shaving that every day, yet the moustache is growing so slow...
  7. Off to see 'Argo' on Thursday. I'm still not 100% sold on Affleck as an actor, yet his directing ability impresses me. 'The Town' is so underrated by many. On another note, I just watched 'True Romance' for the first time in years. I seem to like it more now than I did when I first saw it. Great entertainment.
  8. The Surface seems to be getting mixed reviews from what I've seen so far. Wouldn't it be better to wait for the much better (and more expensive) Surface Pro?
  9. Sad times. Thanks to McLaren being useless when it comes to Hamilton's car, it looks like I'll be dropping from first place. Shame but I'll still be happy with a top five finish. That might be a struggle with the way they're going...
  10. I went to see 'Skyfall' last night and really enjoyed it. Up there with the best of the Bond films in my opinion. On another note, I've just booked my ticket to see 'The Hobbit' on the 13/12 in the IMAX. Get on it if you plan on seeing it at an Odeon cinema as I'm guessing the tickets will go fast...
  11. I'm not all that impressed with the price of it as I think it's rather expensive. Plus I've never really seen the point in an iPad, as they are generally too large to carry around. This iPad Mini has me intrigued though and I might buy the 16GB model. The fact that it could probably fit in a coat pocket (rain coat etc) means it could be pretty useful for my regular train journey down to Villa Park. Will films look good on it? That's my main concern as I'm a big film fan and I would probably be using it to watch films mainly. I've got a lot of digital copies on my iTunes account, yet currently don't own a portable device that I can play them on. This would allow me to do that. Anyway, I'm still not 100% convinced by the need for a tablet, yet I suppose you don't have to need every gadget in order to buy it...
  12. Been looking forward to seeing 'Seven Psycopaths' for ages now and mentioned it on here a while back. Unfortunately us unlucky sods in England need to wait a while as it isn't out over here yet. I'm getting very impatient with the wait...
  13. Oh no, as expected the decline is now going to start for me...
  14. I went to see 'Ruby Sparks' last night and really liked it. I'm a bit of a sap though and do like romantic films to a degree. I just thought it was a smart film that had moments of comedy, sadness and was thought-provoking at the same time. I wasn't too happy with the ending, yet that was a small niggle in an otherwise very solid film. Shot well and the acting was also very good. Ruby herself isn't your typical stunner of a woman, yet she draws you in and you can't help but fall for her. Worth a watch.
  15. Lambert is the manager and Bent needs to stop moaning to the press. If he wants to complain then he should do it behind closed doors by taking it directly to Lambert. It doesn't do any good making it public... On the whole situation, I actually think Lambert was right not to start Bent. Gabby and Benteke had a really good game against Man City in the cup and it would have been unfair to drop them. Therefore Lambert decided to give them a go. When he realised Benteke wasn't cutting it he put Bent on, which was once again the right choice. His other substitutions were also spot on against West Brom in my opinion. I can't for the life of me understand why people are getting on Lambert's back because he didn't pick Bent. Bent isn't bigger than the club and he shouldn't be guaranteed a starting role every game. He has to earn in and it's not like he's been banging them in for us. Yes, he scored against Southampton and he is our best finisher, yet he should have to look over his shoulder at the competition. Lambert has sent a message to him and hopefully he'll be having a few words with Bent over this to put him back in his place. It's nice to have some decent competition upfront and Bent needs to realise that this is a team game. On the captaincy issue I think Lambert got that spot on too. Bent simply isn't captain material, whereas Vlaar quite clearly is...
  16. How do you play in ranked matches on this one? May seem like a silly question, yet it wouldn't let me join any the other night...
  17. Just seen 'Looper' myself and thought it was pretty good to be honest. The whole face thing was done better than I expected, although it did freak me out a little. Good light entertainment and I'm also in the camp that doesn't think it was at all complex. Much like 'Inception' wasn't very complex, yet was also very entertaining. I preferred 'Killing Them Softly' though when it comes to recent films.
  18. Can we just end the season now please? I know I'm going to drop like a brick sooner or later...
  19. Do any of you have tips when photogrpahing people? I like taking pictures of people out and about. Yet I worry that they may attack me or something if they see me taking a picture of them. Or is the idea to do it in a subtle manner?
  20. I went to see 'Killing Them Softly' the other night and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cast are superb throughout and Pitt is really stepping up his game lately. Plus it's all rather lovely looking. Well worth seeing.
  21. I'm happy that it's looking more whimsical and was worried that Jackson might have missed out on that aspect. Hopefully he'll nail the tone.
  22. Been to see 'Total Recall', 'Lawless' and 'Premium Rush' over the past few days. 'Total Recall' was a bit of a mess in all honesty. Visually it is pretty special though when it comes to the world they built. Plus the action sequences are decent. Other than that it isn't all that impressive and proves that they should have just left it alone. I personally liked 'Lawless' a lot, although it certainly isn't without its flaws. Shia still isn't convincing me that he can act. The rest of the cast made up for it though and the film is shot really well. I personally like anything that deals with the prohibition so I feel my enjoyment of it may have been heavily influenced by that. 'Premium Rush' was quite entertaining. Fast paced action on a bike. Quite an original concept (apart from the plot) and good popcorn entertainment. Ignore the cheesy parts (plus some of the acting) and it's a fun little ride.
  23. I was hoping to be tempted to go back to Apple. Basically I was hoping that the screen would be bigger (not just longer but bigger on the whole) and that they would shake it up a bit. They haven't though so I'll be sticking with my S2 and upgrading next summer. Hopefully to another Android handset as at least they try to push the technology.
