  1. 2 assists - he won the knockdown header for Holman's goal and cutback for Weimann's finish. I've yet to see the good build up to the 4th but Benteke's strike of the ball was as sweet as it could possibly have been. He does seem to have a lot to his game! Some advice to any clubs taking an interest in our Christian - he's too slow so don't bother. ;-)
  2. A green flag superseded the yellows. The overtake was perfectly legal, as confirmed by FIA film footage.
  3. Are you assuming that the same number of people voted in general and by elections?
  4. They stay an MP under the new party. It does tend to annoy their constituents who voted for them under their original party banner.
  5. I hope that GG recovers to allow him to prove he can avoid what I call the 'Lee Hendrie Plateau' - very good considering his young age but didn't progress to being a very good senior player. I see Westwood as a different type of player and hopefully his lower league grounding will help him avoid 'LHP' and he will become a mighty fine footballer for us.
  6. The atmosphere was good and, as I wrote, helped my perception of the game; the same as your enviroment didn't. I marked the game in the context of what I was watching - a struggling Villa team more than matching a team that is consistently good enough for the later stages of the CL year after year. What's clear is that it's a better experience to watch us at Villa Park than on TV in the company of so-called 'neutral' pundits and background interference from mother.
  7. Did you hear any reactions about our performance or was the talk all about their lacklustre display?
  8. Watching a game on TV in your living room with your Mom in the background would have an effect on anyone's judgement. My judgement was affected in a positive way, as was the majority of those around me in the middle of the Upper Holte. There's a large gap between a match being a cracker and dire, which is where this game stood. A solid 7 out of 10 game that would have been an 8 if Holman's rocket had crashed in under the bar.
  9. Someone might be along to tell me it is relatively simple conjuring but I found the timing and overall effect very impressive.
  10. By knowing his footballing ability is better than his geographical knowledge and that he's the right player for us at the right time.
  11. I don't think anyone would claim that so I'm still unsure of your point. It's a nice award that won't do our club any harm and may just be the difference in persuading a young player and his family in choosing Villa if other factors are similar.
  12. Are you saying we are 'joint best' along with the other grade one academies? It would appear they have ranked us at the top of all the grade one academies. In the same way, some five star hotels are significantly better than other five star hotels.
  13. Despite my previous post, I regularly post/browse on an iPad (9.7" 4:3) and I'm currently considering a Nexus 10 (10.055" 16:10), so I suspect I wouldn't have enjoyed a 7" 16:9 either. :-)
  14. A regular 16:9 video image uses less than 75% of 4:3 screen; a 2.35:1 cinematic image uses just over half a 4:3 screen. 16:9 video does look appreciable smaller on a 4:3 screen than a 16:9 or 16:10 screen. I do agree that messing up the original image ratio is worse than viewing a smaller image. Perhaps I'm just convincing myself to follow up my thoughts on using my long service work award vouchers to buy a Nexus 10 (16:10 ratio). I have £400 worth to treat my self with.
  15. Nexus 7 7 inches 16:9 aspect ratio Viewable Image Info: Image Dimensions: 6.11" x 3.43" Image area: 20.96 sq. in. Screen Utilization: 100% Tab 7.7 7.7 inches 16:10 aspect ratio Viewable Image Info: Image Dimensions: 6.53" x 3.67" Image area: 23.97 sq. in. Screen Utilization: 89.98% I did reference 'video' in my statement 'most popular video ratio'. 16:10 vs 16:9 is hardly noticeable when web browsing but 10% 'black band' is noticeable on video. Either way, the online display size calculator I used showed a difference of 3 sq. in. or 14.3%. EDIT: I now suspect the 'image area' stated is the reduced size when displaying a 16:9 image and not the actual screen size - whoops!
  16. 27%? I make it just over 14% and virtually the same size when viewing the most popular video ratio 16:9.
  17. Hope you're okay. Isn't it tradition in this thread to expand on what you've said?
  18. Add me to those who thought it was better than I thought it would be. Certainly never laughed at Swedish mooses before!
  19. But Lewis is as dislikeable as Schumacher. Much of the support that he has received was because he was a British driver in the biggest British team. If JB had moved to Mercedes I think he would have retained most of the goodwill towards him. For LH I am not sure that will be the case. LH may, or may not, be seen as 'dislikeable' amongst some of the F1 fraternity but his management will market LH outside the confines of F1 where little of LH is currently known, except that he is an incredibly quick driver. McLaren is not a big name outside of F1, Mercedes is. LH's management will use this to tap the massive motoring interest (not F1) in the States. Interest in the U.S. usually equates to big cash.
  20. Ross Brawn gave an interview to BBC R5 which explained a lot behind LH's decision. McLaren have the tightest contractual restriction on their drivers of all the F1 teams; pretty much - when they're not busy with the car they're busy with team sponsors and promotions. RB stated that Mercedes are not as restrictive and when the drivers aren't getting the cars to go faster they are free to do their own thing. This will enable LH to follow his cash dream as his chosen management market him as a cross between the next David Beckham and the sixth Spice Girl. Kerching!
  21. Playing Guzan near a corner flag is very risky IMO. :winkold:
