    My biggest question on this is how much better than Sinisalo who is also a full international and is apparently doing pretty well at League One level? Or is it a case that we think we can sign him and then sell on Sinisalo and make a little bit more FFP room?

    Thought he did fairly well. Would like him to start next to Watkins against Chelsea. Other than that my main observation is that he could start a fight with his shadow. You can imagine some of the issues we've had behind the scenes.

    If points were given out for kicking opponents then Everton would be dominating the league with a points tally to make an old firm side blush. No coincidence that both in this game and Brentford, the game has been chaotic. Coote is atrocious and completely bowed to the crowd pressure.

    Annoyingly sensible. I can't say I've followed Mowbray all that much, but don't believe he's known for playing free flowing attacking football is he?

    Highlights what I think we all knew, that we struggle against low blocks and defensively disciplined teams. Not sure what the ultimate solution is but plenty of teams will be setting up in a similar way in the future.

    Duran to get sent off at a crucial moment before whipping off his Villa shirt to reveal an AC Milan one underneath, before running off to down the tunnel and straight to Teeside Airport to seal his move away. Maybe.

    There was an awful lot of talk that Digne turned down the prospect of a move in the summer, that he was happy and settled in the area and that he wanted to fight for his place at Villa. Not sure why that would have changed now he's been first choice in a team which is second in the league.

    Amazing how he's given 2 penalties tonight but none in that Sheffield United game. Almost as if referees give the 'big' clubs all the decisions.

    The penalty was about as soft as the one we won the other day but I guarantee that won't be called out as a dive on MOTD.

    Ramsey, McGinn and Luiz were all poor. When Dendoncker is your best midfielder by a distance then you've got real issues. Not sure what changes we make but Ramsay can't keep starting in this form

    Think we missed Torres massively. Lenglet is solid enough but Torres' range of passing is so important against a team who are sitting back like that. Other than that not much to say. Ref and VAR were very poor but we need to have more guile to beat teams who are set up not to lose. Reminded me a lot of the Mostar home game in that regard.

    Thought this was most tired we looked on a Sunday after Europe. Luiz looked knackered, in particular I thought. Add onto that Zaniolo looking bereft of confidence in the first half and Ramsey being a yard off the pace in the second then it's no surprise we struggled to match their energy. Take the point and run with this one.

    Well the midfield is very strong so hopefully we can control the game and they don't have too many chances for Olsen to deal with. Really hope Watkins is just been given a rest but surprised he's not on the bench.

    Losing 2-0 at home to a very average Blackburn side and in front of a pretty empty looking Carrow Road. Surely this signals the end for Wagner?
