  1. Poor game by his standard but I would add as a caveat that when you have 2 of the slowest midfielders playing alongside you in Tielemans and Dendonker then I imagine it's easy to get overwhelmed in the middle.
  2. Reminds me of those Rapid Vienna games. Seemed like we went into it with a very complacent mindset and then crumbled under the pressure in a hostile environment.
  3. Looks as poor as he did last season with Leicester. There's a reason none of the top English teams were after him
  4. Pictures of that Storm Shadowed sub in Sevastopol have finally emerged Bit of duct tape and some WD-40 and it'll be good as new.
  5. Lots of rumours swirling around that Kadyrov has died. All eyes on Grozny if he has.
  6. He's got all the attributes that you'd want in a striker. He is fast, strong, tall, athletic and with a powerful strike. You can tell at times that he is still young and raw but he will naturally develop and with the help of Emery I'm pretty sure the tactical side of things will be addressed in the long term. What a prospect.
  7. I don't watch much rugby so I have to try and compare it to a football match and to me Argentina look like Villa whenever we have a man advantage.
  8. My only enjoyment from this game has been from willing Ukraine to win it.
  9. Thought Berson was going to be a revelation. Remember thinking that Bolasie would absolutely run riot in the championship. On the other hand I thought that Snodgrass was bang average and was massively underwhelming.
  10. I'm so glad that I won't have to have another foreign holiday with my kids being aged 2 again. Found that with my son (who is now 6) and now my daughter that it's the worst age for a holiday. Spent so much time worrying if she was going to kick off at meal times, hauling around her stroller over the worst roads known to man and trying to stop her from getting her hands into everything.
  11. Really think there are times when playing a high line is suicidal and Liverpool and Newcastle away are 2 of those times, especially when we are relying on Torres and Digne instead of Mings and Moreno. Love Emery but it wasn't that difficult to see that the high line would be exploited again today.
  12. Think he will be very good against sides we dominate and have to worry more about breaking down rather than being on the backfoot for a majority of the game. He seems a liability in games like this though. Just a reminder how much we miss Mings' recovery pace, strength and aerial ability.
  13. Yeah, they are getting smashed at home again. They are lucky there's a few terrible teams in the league this season but they will be right down there.
  14. Who knows if this is real, but if it is then it's some top level trolling by the Ukrainians
  15. Goal back. The trend of having multifunctional players reaching it's natural conclusion.
  16. I'm not sure why anyone thought we were signing a RB or backup GB. It's been pretty clear for a while that Emery is happy with our options in both areas. If we are to make another signing after Lenglet then I'd predict it will be an attacker
  17. Pskov airbase attacked by drones this evening with four Russian Il-76 strategic aircraft damaged (and that's what the Russians are admitting to). Seems like there's attacks in multiple directions though as there's also videos of explosions in Tula and Bryansk.
  18. I kept meaning to come here to say I'm really enjoy The Athletic coverage now and I say that as someone who didn't mind Gregg Evans as much as some. I actually like that Tanswell isn't a Villa fan as it gives an outside perspective and his articles have been well researched and more analytical so far. It's also nice that he genuinely seems to be happy when Villa do well, which is definiteoy something you couldn't say for Evans.
  19. I think you are going to be very disappointed
  20. A lot of their fans seem to think they've spent £100m on transfers and they are now weaker than they were in the championship. Loads of people seemed to be predicting them to be comfortably mid table before the season started but I can't see anything but a relegation scrap for them personally.
  21. With Mings out he adds some heading ability and strength to the defence. Must be such a relief for him to be getting regular minutes now.
  22. You can tell he hasn't had much time training with the team and Emery. Had to be pointed where to stand for one corner and occasionally occupied the same space as others but he looked a real threat and very keen to impress. Look forward to seeing him when he's had a bit more time to bed in.

We are in Corfu too, haven't had many bites until I got one on my hand last night which has swollen right up. That will teach me to get complacent.
  24. I don't see us buying a RB, probably much more likely to get a LB and move Digne on. I'm not saying I wouldn't bring one in but I just think Emery is happy with Cash/Konsa/Chambers there. I think we will bring in an attacking player and maybe that LB but not much else.
