excellent cricket. Even Compton played well for his 29 I think, I'm sure he'd love a 50 plus score this tour, to help his case but I'm agreeing with/deferring to the superior opinion of Boycs in that he's got the right attitude and application, just seemed to catch a particularly good ball.

Yeah i figured. I think he's apparently been a dick on set. Also the 4th season was supposed to start last month but it got held back so I guess its toast. edited for appalling spelling.

I disagree ive loved this season. Ray Stevenson is a great baddie. I think there has bern a notable stretching of credibility in the fallout to the end of season 6, but not at the expense of enjoyment.

All set up nicely for a final showdown! Hamilton grabbing 1st means it is exciting enough. A 20 point lead would have been enough i suspect for vettel but at 13 i think there is potential for last day drama and brazil is good for that. US circuit was a big success i thought too, which is good for the sport.

ferrari broke seal on massa gearbox to give him a 5 grid penalty and move alonso up to 7th and on the better side of the track. Understandable tbh, though apparently red bull toyed with the idea of doing it with webber too to put alonso back on the clean side which would have been a bit amusing I suppose.

In fairness plenty of experts thought panesar should have played too. I think the 'loyalty' to some players definitely has its weaknesses in terms of flexibility. Could drop Broad too tbf, but that isnt happening. Was a little gutted compton couldnt make a 50 at least thpugh. I like him and its been as tough a debut innings as you can have here, but nevermind. Tomorrow could be very fascinating - or all over by noon

made the close of play on 168 not out with prior 84 not out either. Terrific patient efforts from the both, putting the wobbly middle lot to shame. Still, likely to lose, but a good fightback nonetheless, could sneak a draw if these two can continue together until lunch tomorrow though that would be quite an ask.

Alisdair Cook 157 not out and hopefully counting. Without him we'd be up that decidedly smelly creek without so much of an instrument of propulsion, Prior providing able support too. So badly need to play Monty next test though. Ideally ( given Bell is missing test 2 anyway ) drop Bresnan/Broad and Patel and replace with Finn ( for genuine pace) and Panesar. And then bring in Bairstow rather than Morgan for Bell.

We're still above three sides and we've just played united and city. Of course the games against Reading and Stoke coming up are important and big games but I am confident we will be fine.

Im close to finally being on schedule with dexter after catching up for months. Fantastic show imo.Very consistent although S3 is merely only very good. Still great stuff!
