Speaking hypothetically, I would rather see Patrick Bamford coming off our bench during a game next season than say Callum Robinson.

Would agree with you DDID, but with an injection of money and a complete overall, we may at least be competitive again. I just hope RDM doesn't wish to assess the squad during pre season first and he has already done some homework. Big job, but not impossible. RDM's first 2/3 signings will be the most interesting I think and will show where we hope to be. I would like his first signing to be our new captain, just not sure who?

I posted this the other day and hope that RDM will consider snapping up some of the best young talent around the leagues, either on loan or permanently. Plenty out there and did a list of some suggestions: Gk: Christian Walton, Daniel Bentley, Danny Ward. Def: Dominic Iorfa, Kortney Hause, Rico Henry, Jamaal Lascelles, Paddy McNair, Mason Holgate, Michael Hector, Liam Moore, Joe Gomez, Lewis Dunk. Mid: Anthony Knockaert, Tom Carroll, Nathan Redmond, Nathaniel Chalobah, Josh Vela, Teddy Bishop, Callum Camps, Moses Odubajo, Alex Mowatt, Bradley Dack, Will Hughes, Sheyi Ojo, Brandon Barker, Alex Iwobi, Rolando Aarons, Romaine Sawyers, Rubén Loftus-Cheek. Str: Cauley Woodrow, Zach Clough, Will Grigg, Patrick Bamford, Che Adams, Nakhi Wells, Joel Campbell, Moussa Dembele, Tom Bradshaw, Kemar Roofe. Some of the above are ambitious to say the least and would only be possible on loan (ie Loftus-Cheek). Would RDM still have some connections at Chelsea? Some would be 'projects' but surely worth considering? In addition, put some of the above against some experience (ie Artur Boruc, Marc Wilson, Damian Delaney, Barry, Osman, Jedinak, Morrison, Walters), then we could have the makings of a decent side again. This is without considering some of our own like Adama, Grealish, Amavi etc.

Don't ask my why, but every time I see Jedinak play I want him in the Villa midfield. Never does anything particularly good either. Must be the beard, plus I reckon he'd stand up to anyone. First signing RDM and make him captain.

I would include Bacuna in that group as well.

I just want promotion next season and don't really care how he achieves this. If he does it, he then deserves a crack at the Premiership. UTV

Wow! It's gonna be a long season but hopefully we can look at these type of signings again next summer.

Mentioned him yesterday morning in my big list of promising young players worth looking at. Think he can play in a forward position too. Man City apparently showed some interest in January. Promising young players is something we should really explore and I'm not talking about the Bowery's and Bennett's of this world.

Agree. He may just need some convincing. Fair enough too, it was crap last year for him no doubt. New country, 3 managers, major injury and relegation. However, a new manager in place and hopefully seeing a bit of quality arrive may just swing it. Hope so, would love to see him play for us again.

Have to agree here, seeing several players go out on loan is just annoying. If players don't want to play for us and help us get back, then get rid.

What has Hepburn done compared to Robinson? Nothing. I was merely showing another option as you stated that we will only have Gestede and Kozak left. Robinson has already had a few spells of league football and has hardly set the world alight. I am all for our youth coming through but just don't see Robinson having a future with us. Happy to be proved wrong of course but would rather we sign a loan player like Patrick Bamford etc.

We do have Hepburn-Murphy also and no doubt at least one other young forward showing promise. If we want promotion next year, having Robinson in the squad ain't gonna help in my opinion. A better option might be to loan someone who is simply better and more reliable to score goals.

I agree with some of your points here but not all of them. I never said we have to keep him based on talent alone and nothing else. Attitude comes into it yes, but fact is, we do have far more players to shift in the first instance than Jack. Quite frankly who he hangs out with outside of the club is not really our concern is it, as long as he is being professional and doing the business. I would have loved Paul Gascoigne in his prime at our club but could anyone stop him hanging round with Jimmy Five Bellies? Probably not. Squad members I agree with this too and needs to be addressed quickly. We do need better leaders and influences. No question. A lot of people within the game think highly of Jack and I for one want him to be given at least one full season to see if he can be that player for us.

Agree, our current squad isn't all crap. Just need 6 or 7 good additions until January. Does anyone know how many loan players a Championship team can have at any one time or throughout a full season?

I admit some suggestions on my list are ambitious to say the least mate, but with the offer of a decent salary and game time, we may just attract one or two on loan. In addition to one or two permanently. Gomez is interesting because i know a couple of Liverpool season ticket holders who do rate him highly, but as you rightly say is recovering from injury. They don't think he will be a starter for them straight away next season, which is why i mentioned him. Apparently, they are looking to get another young player off Leicester but can't remember his name? They also told me that Jerome Sinclair showed promise, but appears to have now signed for Watford. We really need a manager in place quickly to explore one or two of these type of loans/signings.

Sadly you could well be right! My only hope is that the takeover and subsequent injection of money, may speed up our prospects/return to the big league.

Looks like Jerome Sinclair is signing for Watford. Potential is there. Hope we look at some young talent to play alongside Grealish, Adama, Hepburn etc.
