  1. It was a close run thing they were both pretty awful. Gana probably edged it because he normally does something good before he loses it whereas Sanchez just loses it. They are probably 50/50 on unnecessary fouls though
  2. Just as an aside I think any reference to the word Championship should be banned. I have decided to call it the Aston Villa founded football league
  3. I would be completely overjoyed if he were here next year as he is most definitely capable of being a Harry Redknapp stylee Top Top player in the Aston Villa founded football league. Unfortunately though I don't think you are correct. He is not an outstanding premier League player but he is a pretty good premier league player and I an 100% certain that with the money the PL will be awash with next season someone will offer him wages way above his relegation clause reduction and offer us enough money to let him go without even starting to make a small dent in their overall budget. I pray you are right though
  4. No he unquestionably carried us for a couple of seasons but still had Delph or Gresford, at times Cleverly more rarely Fatman or Vlaar. Yes easily our best player but there was usually someone nearby who wasn't half bad either
  5. Does anyone think that in training he ever manages to pass it to one of his own players because it seems to be something which is completely unable to do on match day. I find it astonishing that a player who plays international football for a decent footballing nation has been such an awful awful signing. One of too many who have turned into a liability instead of an asset
  6. He was utterly cack today and not for the first time. I would take whatever we can get for him
  7. I am glad we pissed on their chips today but realistically I think if they came down with us it would make our job of trying get promoted back again that more difficult. And for that reason I am out..... Of the wanting for them to be relegated school of thinking
  8. He's been on the wireless saying how he was concentrating on the back because of the number of goals we had conceded. I mean really Eric the horse has long bolted. No one really cares to see us grinding out a draw we want to see swashbuckling all out attack to try and generate some kind of excitement and salvage some kind of pride. Newcastle were truly dreadful completely there for the taking and we didn't even think about asking a question of them. Not acceptable. Our last premier league game. One final chance to give a tiny little gift but no, this is not on the rather strange agenda. Just sod off will he
  9. I can honestly say that in my 33 years of regular attendance at Villa Park and beyond I cannot remember any time where a single player stood out so far above everyone else in our team. And I have seen some truly great players in that period. Not to say Ayew is anything like approaching some of those greats, he is merely just pretty good, it is the number of players around him who are either utter cack or utterly negligent in their attitude. We look more like a one man team than I have ever seen.
  10. Posted this in the match reactions thread but should probably go here really : Aston Villa fans. I salute you each and every one. Make no mistake today the lion roared not on the pitch but in the stands. A magnificent lion prowling left and right through the stands clutching an amusingly shaped inflatable between it's claws
  11. Looked to me like he had lost a fair bit of weight today when he was waving his belly at the Holte from the lower Trinity today!
  12. I pray that anyone interested in taking over our mighty club was hiding somewhere in the crowd today. If they were they will be itching to get the deal done so they can start returning this magnificent institution back to where it belongs and today will make them see and understand that the top echelons of the game is where it should be with the crowd baying them on to glory
  13. Aston Villa fans. I salute you each and every one. Make no mistake today the lion roared not on the pitch but in the stands. A magnificent lion prowling left and right through the stands clutching an amusingly shaped inflatable between it's claws
  14. There is some humor in there if only I could find it
  15. Jeez... Sorry to cause offence. I didn't realise you had to put a smiley after every comment for people to realize a comment is tonge in cheek!
  16. Seriously what the **** does he do all day? Must sit around all day then type a single letter before packing it in again after another hard day slaving over the keyboard. He HAS to be deliberately stalling letting the TV series run its course. I reckon they are all finished and once the TV series has ended he will bring them all out quickly even if posthumously That is my hope anyway because I like the TV series but it can never replace the depth and richness of a damn good novel so I would hate to never get to read them even if the plot is known I love David Gemmell books and can read them over again and still thoroughly enjoy them when I know what's broadly going to happen

Just seen a story on the news about a bloke who was trapped for 8 hours under 1000 tons of cheese after racking collapsed overhead If you ask me edam well deserves any compensation he receives
  18. Wow. The night before the game and we have not made 3 pages on the pre match thread. Talk about sucking out any enthusiasm for the actual game. Randy Lerner is like one of those Harry Potter creatures who suck out all the joy and hope from people.
  19. I just can't be bothered to comment on him anymore. He's in charge till the end of the season regardless and will pick the same players regardless. It's pointless wasting brain time on him his decisions or selections
  20. I know he would take 5 years at £40k but surely it would be better to offer him 6 years at £80k? Much more fun in that I think we could really clinch it if we gave him free reign to design our kit as well. Think of the plunge in sales just of the training wear we could achieve. Delicious
  21. I was about to suggest Malcolm Allison but Wikipedia tells me he died in 2010
  22. To be clear I don't think it's a great strategy unless something is 99% likely to complete in the next couple of weeks and I have said on here a couple of times that I feel this is why B & K resigned. However it is probably better news than an announcement along the lines of "whilst we continue to follow lines of enquiry with potential interested parties we have appointmented Mick McCarthy to oversee pre season team building and lead us into the forthcoming season" . That would convince me nothing was likely to happen.
  23. I would think absolutely anyone they spoke to
