Can't believe Yorke and Ollie is even a conversation. Ollie has FAR more to his game and is likely to beat Yorkes scoring record to boot. He's a significantly better all round player and just as good a goalscorer. In the olden days he'd be moving this season for a massive fee and in the Ellis years he'd probably have gone last season for a medium fee and United or Liverpool fans would be watching this footballing machine whilst strolling their way to the title.

I'm assuming those older players would have gone through modern training regimes in my selections. Pele and George Best as was would be unfit and out of their depth in a straight swap into the modern game, but they were generational talents, the best of the best and if they went through modern training regimes they would obviously be far better players than they were then.

YOUNG Emi Martinez - peerless.

I'd have Barry over Dougie all day. Dougie is great but Barry was on another level. He was good enough to be a regular in a Premier League winning team and I think if he'd have left us earlier probably would have added a couple more titles to that haul.

I seem to remember in the early days something about them being acquaintances at some billionaires club and started watching The World Cup together where they each recognised their love of sport and hatched a plan to buy a football club together. A bit like your mates might decide to buy a few shares in a racehorse together in order to enjoy the sport more, only costing a few hundred million extra.

Where is the evidence for any of that. Heck or no Heck we are and we have been run by very clever very canny people. We'd have budgeted for all those eventualities.

I expect that happens for a little while but eventually they'll just get on with it. In the heat of a game as well I suspect you're just reacting to the play and don't really have much time to think about your body unless it's actually hurting you at the time you're playing.

Yeah, I was thinking it's easy to criticise some "not so good deals" when you weren't trying to negotiate them whilst the team was fighting relegation. Didn't that woman Purslow brought in famously negotiate a mega deal for (then highly successful) Chelsea. The fact she got nowhere near it for us shows that it's much more about the current success of the team than the person's skill at negotiation. Then again he may have been talking about the Castore deal and the shoddy quality of the kits. They fell onto our hands somewhat **** that up as I assume it's allowed us to exit the deal early with no cost.
