  1. I went to haden hill park with my kids on Monday and there was an Indian family of about 12 (cousins etc I suspect) and every single one of them (mom's, dad's, kids) had this years man united shirt on! It was literally a squad! Shame it's United, not villa!
  2. The problem with what I see here is (and goes for a lot of male dominated circles) is men by nature are usually "problem fixers". We see issues and come up with solutions. Your wife may feel like that, but I know my wife probably wouldn't, and she's not what I'd call transphobic. I can see why women have issues with the situations mentioned. It's in almost living memory women didn't have voting rights, women couldn't have a credit card until the 70s/80s. So I understand why some women want "born women" only spaces. Again, trans rights are only really developing and we all want what's best for everyone. There are good and bad in all circles and when you're talking about very small communities of people it's very difficult to have an opinion that's not going to upset a large portion of that small community, on either side of the fence you sit on. For what it's worth (largely nothing and absolutely anecdotal), I've worked with born men, now females who some do and some don't like going into female spaces, I thought that was peculiar, although on reflection, why would it be peculiar? It's an infinitely difficult discussion, like the gender version of Israel and Palestine.
  3. Nothing on this forum so far helps, either. We're missing one of the key demographics almost entirely, and have an extremely tiny number of the other (although I've not seen Eiolodon (sp) for ages, either!) Anything else is just noise.
  4. Leaders of Israel are becoming the very things they fear most.
  5. 5 pints and a can would make me sloshed. Can't imagine what a couple more and a bottle of rum would do to me! Are you overweight? You're always talking about food and drinks. You're Rick Waller in my head
  6. I think them only ever being a tongues slip away from being mentioned is just because of the amount of fans (and therefore public interest) they have. Liverpool in the 90s/00s were still talked about as "challenging the elite" clubs of Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal.. even though it got to 30 years between titles. When Fergie won Utds first title, it was almost like a countdown to the media "the first title win in 28 years!" Or whatever it was. It's just playing to the crowd innit?
  7. Looks alright for an under 8 girls player
  8. Piss easy 1-3 win. 3 Rodri own goals lol, the **** clown.
  9. Does Cole Palmer not realise how **** ugly he is? Brrr, you may feel cold, but so will whatever woman's snatch you find yourself lucky to be bearing down on, you slack jawed, foot faced, rancid cretin. Great player though.
  10. God, I bet Blackpool is even shitter on Mondays.
  11. We've all been locked in, surely? Any legendary nights out, where you end up waking up getting pissed on by a feral dog in El Salvador? Who was the div in your friend group who got tied to a lamppost? Where did that tattoo of Carlton Palmer come from?! Share your great nights out stories HERE.
  12. May I interest you in the great game of cricket?
  13. Football is probably my main one. I used to know quite a bit about European leagues, who the next big stars were, how teams were doing, play FIFA every year, FM every few years etc. Now? MOTD if my kid watches it, I'll record and watch villa if they're on. But outside of Villa? Absolutely nothing. And I have no appetite for it. Football kinda seems like it's a rubbish remake now. After the last 20/30 years of it generally being great, all the players now are just meh. Where's the next Ronaldinho? The next Zidane? Gazza? The systematic approach by most clubs just seems to suck the life out of it and make it more robotic. Just all a bit boring. I do still love going to VP though, but that hasn't happened as much over the last 10 years.
  14. Yea she was in situ, in Dallas. It was very surprising to us that she was in work, as it was pretty evident she wasn't processing it very well, blurting out information which was pretty private.
  15. Had the weirdest and probably worst works call ever yesterday. It was with a third party company we use for data analysis and I've only met the account manager once previously. She's a lovely Texan lady and she started the call by saying "we can do this call but my head won't be in it, on Sunday I lost a very close girlfriend, who self harmed in a very violent way. She didn't realise her two girls were in the house, who found her and I spoke to her almost everyday, it's true what they say, that you'd never guess who would do something like this to themselves" Me and my colleague were only there to introduce our new colleague (2 days in!). Obviously we said we wanted her to end the call and said we were both extremely sorry to hear that she was going through this very difficult time. It was utterly bizarre and awful. Hope she's ok
  16. I don't usually like to put things in here that are possibly received as "showing off" or "humble bragging", but my eldest son is on this years squad list for the Worcestershire Cricket Club under 10s and has his own stats pages and stuff set up. I know its not that popular on here, but he loves his cricket and has been down to Kings College in Malvern most Sundays (the 8am-10am slots are killing us!) for winter training. It's that exciting bit now before the season gets going and for him to be added to that page is such a nice little feeling. I've added all the fixtures to our calendar and we're counting down the days until his first match. Got to buy all the kit now (its not like football academies!) and become the second coming of Basil D'Oliveria (his grandson Ryan is a coach for my lad now)! Even if he doesn't become a pro (and it's extremely unlikely he will!), then I hope he looks back at this phase of his life and is as proud as I am.
  17. I'm which case, the league should award any team playing against city, 3 points. That should speed their legal teams up a bit.
  18. I quite like my job. Not sure how I'll feel after another 30 years of it. Previous jobs I was like "this is a complete waste of my life", now I actually quite look forward to it. Weird. Wouldn't have imagined that 10 years ago.
  19. I always think that about your posts in general. Time to leave the forum Stef x
  20. I bet everything smells shit to you.
  21. How much difference in kg/CO2 is there between a 2024 petrol range rover which does 5,000 miles a year or a 2006 VW Passat 2.0l which does 20,000 miles a year? Could the Passat owner work from home, but chooses not to? The last few pages on this are ridiculous without any numbers being shown. Why not stop a cruise liner leaving port? After all, a cruise ship's average journey is equivalent to 1 million cars on the road, and that's just to take people on a 2/3 week jolly. What about the 400 private jets landing locally to the NFL Superbowl? They emit around 45kgCO2 per mile. The average trip was 1,000 miles. A Google tells me a new range rover emits the equivalent of 3.72kgCO2 for every 10Km. Where do you stop the micro analysis of an average person? The person in a new range rover probably has a better insulated house and keeps their ASHP on for 2/3 hours a day, whereas someone on average income probably forgets to have their 20 year old boiler turned off and keep it at a nice 23C for the dog. It's all **** nonsense. It's the environmental equivalent of the Daily Mail. Stop looking at individuals who don't actually do that much harm and focus on the big shit.
  22. I've got 1.6 Kia Sportage. We had it because my wife suffers with back pain and we had two young kids to keep putting in the back in those rear facing baby seats. It was bad enough for me without back issues. I'm a proper tree hugger, but these people are **** morons. They have zero clue about the reasons people buy specific cars or equipment, **** off.
  23. At least I get invited in the first place!
  24. I'd like to go and see Brian Cox's tour, but at £55 a ticket (plus ticketmaster "extras") it doesn't seem worth it. Anyone else been? I can't imagine why its so expensive!
  25. Nice one on ruining an otherwise great thread.
