  1. So you can change thigs that are otherwise locked. Like the gamma settings.
  2. Umm, dunno, give it a try. If you need to root your phone you don't have to reinstall everything. It just means you can access & change the under the bonnet settings.
  3. I want to buy this for my godson, but I can't afford it. Sadface.
  4. My monthly spend is.. Bugger all. I pay £20 for six months' free internet, then maybe £5 per month on top of that for calls and texts.
  5. You want the Faux Kernel thingy ar kid.
  6. It's in stock on the google play store. In fact, everything is apart from the Nexus 4

    Windows 8

Does your Windows button clunk? That's all you have to press to swap between start and desktop. One key. Even alt +tab is two keys. Anyway, I've just installed the enterprise evaluation version and it's quite nice. I can't understand why people are so passionate about it one way or the other. Some love, some hate, but it's pretty much win 7 with extra functionality with that start thingy on top.
  8. Do any of you guys use ES File Explorer? It's free, you can copy/paste stuff over wifi, it's a dropbox/sugarsync etc client, it's an ftp client, it's an MD5 checker, it can unzip files. It has a built in music player and can stream stuff over wifi from your network storage. It's absolutely bloody awesome. I use it every single day.
  9. Cheers for the phone tips guys. Kinda what I was thinking. She got the Galaxy Y in the end as she needed a phone today. It'll see her through the next 2 weeks until she gets her Note, then she'll have an emergency backup phone.
  10. You have a regular phone, but with a flexible display. No difference in daily use until you drop it and it doesn't shatter. Also from a manufacturing pov, it's less likely to break between the beginning of the production line and your pocket.
  11. Well, it needs to be an android smartphone - she uses it for work (self employed) lots of writing, hence the note.
  12. Quick phone buying advice guys. My mate needs to get a budget android sim free phone for the next two weeks, to then keep as a spare. She's currently got an S2 with a buggered screen, but 2 weeks left on her contract (when she'll get a Note 2) Current thoughts are Galaxy Y for £90. Anything better value that you can think of?
  13. Hello, I'm Anthony, but my real name is Anthony. I live in London. It's a bit like Chelmsley Wood. Only a bit though. And stay in Off Topic. If you go over the other side no good will come of it.
  14. What D1 said. I used to love this game, but stopped playing when my kin split, followed by my BB connection being unpredictable for a six week stretch. Really friendly community.
  15. Ooh, I have a bit of cash finally... Donated.
  16. thirded. You can also do it automatically on your android phone at least; take a piccy and it auto uploads to g+ should you wish.
  17. Civ V. Consistently for the past six months or so...
  18. Well, American Grafitti is a good soundtrack, but basically it's just a huge collection of fifties hits. My favourite though is Until the End of the World - I never tire of listening to it and I've had it since 1991...
  19. Dr Dre's missing a trick you know. He should market and sell Beats earmuffs for £50 a pop.
  20. Or you could get some villa headphones, or actually Ian Taylor's it7x jobs. Bluetooth, well cool, and sound good.
  21. Well, if you're only going to use data, get a t mobile payg sim and pay £20 for six months unlimited data...
  22. They've just released an android remote control too.
  23. Assuming you're on windows? Look for it the same way you look for other files, i.e. using windows explorer. If you can't see the folder, you may have to go "into folder options" and click "Show hidden files and folders"(I'm on an XP machine now and it's in the menu at the top of the page, under 'tools')
