  1. Tbf, why buy it as a going concern, when you can string them along until they run out of money, then pick up the pieces for **** all? I wonder if that was the strategy?
  2. There is no reason why. Once you embrace that things get much clearer. I leave a mess in my flat BECAUSE I CAN. It's not always messy, but there is something that gives me a little thrill when I don't put stuff away 'like I'm supposed to'

    Smart Watches

Apple didn't invent most of the functionality. They just say they did. They certainly brought the smartphone into the mainstream though. Back to the watches, how about home and or car automation? Tap your watch to open the car, turn the home lights on, lock all the doors, turn on the telly, turn over the telly... Seems obvious when you think of it.

    Windows 8

All our PCs have Win8 on them and we have no touchscreens. Nobody uses the Metro interface. The 'start screen' metro interface bit is just a replacement for the start menu, that's all. Generally, when I hear people complaining about windows 8, after drilling down a bit it's the metro interface that they're complaining about.
  5. My N4 just died. In warranty though... Now if only I could get an RMA via email, rather than phoning them up. You know, with the the phone that doesn't work...

    Business PCs

I read a while back that Lenovo pcs come with the option to downgrade to Windows 7, one of the reasons why Lenovo are increasing market share in a decreasing market. As an aside, I actually LIKE windows 8. Prefer it to 7.
  7. According to that site I'm from the UK. I have no idea how to feel. The above two sentences may or may not be related.
  8. While we're talking about battery life on the N4, have any of you installed Battery Guru? Makes a huge difference on mine. Snapdragon phones only though...
  9. Can I like this more than once? Say, about, 15 times?

    GiffGaff

If it's 3G (not 4g) then get a T-Mobile payg sim, load it up with £20, text 6monthweb to 441 and bingo, you have six months unlimited data.
  11. Tis aye It's how he gets to afford all them iProducts ~
  12. Compared to a Nexus 7, really **** high. Actually, I suspect it'll be the same as the current mini, with a slight inflationary increase, so maybe £285 or so for the 16gb? But won't it also blow it completely out of the water spec wise? And if you currently use an like using an iPhone, wouldn't that make it the smarter investment? £285 is not high really, not for portable tech. Spec wise I suspect they'll be similar. Experience wise too. If you're used to the iOS ecosystem though, it'll be somewhat easier. Is £285 high for portable tech? Well, if you can get something with pretty much the same functionality for £85 less, then you have to take it into consideration. I understand why someone would be prepared to pay nearly 50% more to stick to what they know though. Oh,BTW DDID, I got a spam DM from you on twitter the other day!

  14. Oi Dodgyknees! The first one was a link to a Murdoch website, but was quite funny, so I can forgive you. The second was to the daily effing Mail, a link that I refuse to click. What is wrong with you?!?
  15. So you threw him out at 5000 feet then?
  16. Trying to keep calm about Tonev. I remember Carlton Cole's debut. Let hope this is the yin to Cole's Yang.
  17. Also the home button on iphones is one of the most regularly repaired parts - i.e. when it busts, you can't use your phone. Additionally, potentially one could lift the fingerprint off something shiny like, say, I dunno, an iPhone, then fake it over the sensor. Of course this only really works if the sensor is JUST a fingerprint sensor, but what else does it measure, if anything? Unknown.
  18. Cyanogenmod announced that they're developing (and will be releasing soon) an easy installer for their ROMs. Should be available in the next couple of weeks. What you get Pompey is Vanilla android with extra useful stuff. Is good.
  19. Hey Xann, you may have met my mate Matthew Nobbs who used to work there. May have been a buyer. Or a warehouse something or other. In other news, my brother's adopted children arrive today. I'm finally going to be an uncle. They married in 98 and started trying for kids about 2000. Many miscarriages and rounds of IVF later, they started down the adoption trail. It's taken two and a half years, but today they welcome an eight year old girl and her six year old brother into their family. Absolutely momentous.
  20. That I have no money and no food, due to those kind people at atos. Yes, I should've responded to the letter, but was ill. So now I'm waiting for the crisis loan people to call me. They should've called me on Monday. Not to worry though, I can get some food vouchers on Friday afternoon and go to the food Bank.
  21. Also android phones have turn by turn navigation built into Google maps, unlike iOS.
  22. I take it you're not talking about accumulator betting?
  23. Uh, sorry, what? Was looking at your avatar.
