This may be a long one, but the short version is I've come to the realisation in a roundabout way that I can't **** stand the Arctic Monkeys' music. You know when you do a radio mix /instant mix /genius mix on the streaming platform of your choice and a song will pop up that you don't like, so you skip it? I like (amongst other types) listening to indie rock stuff, but whenever I do an instant mix from an indie rock track, there will be a few that I skip. When I check afterwards, they're nearly all the Arctic **** Monkeys. I hate his voice. The music is basic beyond belief. And really, really irritating. I find myself doing that frowning and squinting thing, thinking "What the absolute **** is this shit? Oh god, please make it stop. Oh, I can, hurrah! Next!" And yes, I do click the thumbs down button so I don't get that song any more, but it's irritating that they keep polluting my ears with their shit. I don't have anything against the people in the band. I had no opinion of them or their music apart from Look Good on the Dancefloor, which I find energetic and fun, if a little irritating, but everything else I've heard from them is like hammering nails in my ears. And yet, they're really important for some posters on here. Baffling, but different strokes I guess. This post could have gone in the Piss You Off thread, but music posts tend to dominate any thread, so I thought I'd shove it here. Rant over. For now.

My gf just bought a new smart telly. She did have a non smart telly, and paid Virgin lots per month for a recording box as well as the broadband. With the price rises we worked out it would be cheaper to buy a new smart telly and use that for recording. It's ace. Does all the things you'd expect except one. You can't record from the EPG. You know, like every other machine has been able to do since 2010? Go to the guide, soft a show coming up, set it to record. Or record the whole series. Obviously this was her most used feature on the Virgin box. Nope. This one you have manually input the channel, days, start time and end time. You can then opt to repeat daily, weekly or monthly. I bet it can take **** videoplus codes too. It's like buying a new laptop to find out it can only communicate by fax. Guess what Toshiba? It's going back.

Also this is during a period when the pound hasn't been exactly a stellar performer.

@avfc1982am, @bickster, @sidcow You all make good points. I'd hope the Ukrainians have developed drones that can deploy modern torpedoes that explode underneath the target and crack the target's keel. It's a case of using the right tool for the job, I guess.

Frustrating that Ukraine have managed the hard part in attacking these ships. Such a shame that the explosions weren't powerful enough/didn't penetrate enough to sink their targets.
