  1. I was just about to have a go at someone for suggesting he could play wide in a 4-4-2, but centre mid?! Oh Gabby.

    Joe Bennett

I remember he came on when we were down six or seven at Stamford Bridge and he was brilliant. Nutmegging fools etc. Unsurprisingly all the MEDIA talked about was Chelsea's eight goals. Bloody MEDIA. Slightly OT but has anyone else noticed that our squad has been much better-looking since the Lambert era? Or have the years of terrible football on show sneakily turned me gay in some weird inexplicable way? I like when our players are good-looking. Does that make me shallow? Or does it just make me gay?
  3. Oh my god. Guess what kind of shoes he's wearing.
  4. I like the look of that nippy lad who set up the West Ham goal. Cheeky bid?
  5. He came through the ranks at City and had the best moments of his career there. Of course he's going to have kind words for the club. Fans complain about a lack of loyalty and then when a player has good things to say about a former club they lose their mind. As for him convincing Delph to join them, get a f***ing grip. They're two grown men. Firstly if you think Delph had no strong feelings either way and was totally swayed by Micah Richards saying it was a great club, you honestly need your head looked at. It's not a video game. There are myriad factors. The testimony of one ex-player is not going to make a significant difference. Secondly, we're talking about two professional athletes. If Delph asked Richards, professional to professional, about his experience at City of course he isn't going to lie and say it was dreadful and the food at the canteen is always out of date and Joe Hart is a pain in the arse and he thinks the Etihad is haunted. Delph let us down. Turning on our new signing and potentially one of our most important players before he even kicks a ball would be completely ridiculous.
  6. This may have been covered earlier but is he naturally right-footed? In the video I watched he repeatedly tackled with his right when technically he should have used his left, he seemed to cut inside quite a bit and his crossing technique with his left looked more than a bit awkward. He looks like a quality player though.
  7. It's "gay". There's already a Gueye in the league and he pronounces it "gay". French commentators called our Gueye "gay". He's "gay" in FIFA. He's here. He's Gueye. Get used to it.
  8. Surely the English pronunciation is irrelevant?
  9. He looks like a lovely player. Wonder if he'll have 'Gana' or 'Gueye' on his shirt? I can't wait for commentators to say "This is Gueye..." Glory days.
  10. The fact that he went out and got pissed isn't an issue. The fact that he was unconscious on the street, alone, in the middle of the night, however, is. I would be critical of his friends for not looking after him but for all we know he wandered off unbeknownst to them. I'm sure they weren't in great shape themselves. Also I'm sure the girl and her boyfriend could have done more than take a picture and post it on Twitter, even if he was completely out of it. I had a look at some of the tweets back and forth... Tragic. Lest we forget, we were all very young and very stupid once. You'd be hopeful he'd learn from this and maybe mind himself a bit better. And all this clamour over which country he's going to choose... I'll tell you what, if he doesn't improve his drinking you boys can have him.
  11. He has to go. He's too good for us and he owes us nothing. He could easily have left last summer. He'd be mad to want to stay. Even with new owners and heavy spending it would take us 3-4 years to reach a level befitting a player like him. Hopefully he keeps quiet for the next few weeks and it all gets sorted as quickly as possible. Then he can leave us on good terms, we get our money and reinvest it wisely. Onwards and upwards for all involved.
  12. I was completely against Macron when the deal was initially announced but this season's kits were beautiful. Looking forward to the new ones.
  13. Guzan is definitely a better option for us at the moment but you have to feel bad for Given if he doesn't play. He was dropped for the final in '99, played in the earlier rounds of the competition for City but didn't start the final in 2011 and now, after eventually working his way back into the starting XI here, and having played in every cup game this season, it looks like he might miss out again. Having said that, Guzan also got dropped for the League Cup final after playing in every round in 2010. Someone is going to be gutted. Hopefully whoever gets the nod plays a blinder. I've got a feeling they'll need to.
  14. Why did we need ten? I think we could have left out the wonder-goals by Clark and Sanchez. Kind of embarrassing.
  15. That away kit is phenomenal. I would buy two of those.
  16. Dunne and arguably Collins were good but the rest is really criminal Luke Young did a great job one season. IIRC he was many people's player of the year. Warnock did well his first six months but the poor lad couldn't function by the end of his time here. It was like his brain stopped working every time the ball came near him. To be honest I had forgotten Nicky Shorey had even played for us.
  17. For me a big part of his legacy will come down to whose hands he leaves us in.
  18. Ghost Riders in the Sky would be alright if everyone sang the chorus at the same speed as the original, but the fans sing it a lot faster so it'd just sound rubbish. Hi Ho (ASTON VILLA) sounds good. For one line. I doubt anyone knows the words to the entire song. The fan songs are all wank. I think Theme From an Unmade Silent Movie is the best option because it's an instrumental. Either that or Black Sabbath. But let's be honest, it won't even make the TV coverage. "We know Liverpool have a song but we don't. Just play whatever." That should have been the club's response. The FA clearly only want this to happen because YNWA makes for good TV. Liverpool fans would have sang it anyway, and we have our own chants, so this kind of gimmick really pisses me off.
  19. Not sure why anyone would think Joe Cole has a particularly big ego. He seems like a really nice, genuine guy to me. He moved to France to play for Lille, who aren't bad but not exactly a household name, and he's taking a pay cut to play for a team that nearly got relegated last season. Maybe it's because he's a Londoner.
  20. And Luka Modric. And Juan Mata. And football.
  21. I'm fairly sure Delph has been slightly better since he STOPPED making retarded tackles in the first 15mins of games.
