  1. No worries. I'm sure D is right but I'm open to correction.
  2. What did it say the right answer was? I didn't see the correct answers to the questions I got wrong Sorry, I should have said which option did you choose. The answer is A, the upper tier behind the goals to the left. I changed it after the mistake was pointed out earlier, just curious to see if it's working for people.
  3. What did it say the right answer was?
  4. You're right. Fixed it. Thanks. Also Old Trafford had the wrong 'correct answer'. But people seemed to be getting that right, even though it was wrong.
  5. I'm sharing this here because even my most knowledgeable friends reckon it's too difficult. Where do the away fans go? I've only actually been to two of these grounds but I still knew 16. Am I some sort of Premier League away ends prodigy or something? Shouldn't be too hard for fans who travel a lot. edit: updated URL to redirect to 'public' quiz
  6. Pleased the team is trying to build from the back this season. Guzan is rolling it out to the CBs the majority of the time and it looks like players are being encouraged to keep possession, and even though we haven't yet managed to convert that into an attacking threat I think it's a step in the right direction. Hopefully we'll see an improvement in that department when Gueye and Veretout settle in and Traore and Grealish and Gil start getting game time. All in all I've been very pleased with Sherwood so far. At the beginning I thought it was going to be a short-term solution but I like the way he carries himself and I think he has done really well. Long may it continue.
  7. He was much better against United than in his first game. Not so much going forward but he got back and made some really good tackles, which can only be a good sign. Like all of the new lads we have to give him time but if he applies himself like he did on Friday he could do well. That dive was pathetic though.
  8. He's a good footballer but what does he actually do? I think he'll need to put in a couple of stand-out performances very soon if he has any intentions of staying in the starting XI.
  9. He's taller than Smalling and I thought Smalling gave him a real hiding. I think Gestede won one header out of around six or seven. I'm obviously not going to write him off based on that one performance, absolutely not, but I hope he's a much better target man than what we saw of him Friday night. Even if we're going to be playing less direct football he's still going to need to challenge for Guzan's long kicks.
  10. I think it's to do with the strained relationship that he has with his father, that's why he uses his middle name on his shirt. I read that somewhere, but could be wrong. I think that's also why Bryan Ruiz uses 'Bryan'. Interestingly I always refrain from putting my name on my shirt because of my strained relationship with myself.
  11. It's definitely Joe Cole. It couldn't be more Joe Cole. If it was any more Joe Cole, Joe Cole Joe Cole Joe Cole.
  12. The MOTD commentator called him Gana (his middle name and the name on his shirt) at the weekend. Is he too much of a prude to say Gueye or is this what we're calling him now? I mean players can put basically whatever they want on their shirts now, it doesn't mean that's how they should be addressed. Kun is just Aguero's nickname but he has that on his shirt. Latin players seem to be able to go with their forenames if they like. Bryan Ruiz just had (has) Bryan I think, Gaston Ramirez is another example. Chicharito for crying out loud. I don't see what's stopping English players from putting daft nicknames on their shirts. If a lad can put "Little Pea" on his I think it should be open season. Well, I don't want to see it happen, but I don't see how the league could justify turning down, say, Gabby Agbonlahor, if he wanted to put "Big Cabbage" on his shirt. Although I suppose they don't get many requests of that nature. Anyway, this Gana lad. He's good, isn't he?

    Adama Traore

I cannot wait to see this lad play for Villa. This team is shaping up to be the most exciting we've had in a very long time. We may not set the league on fire but I think I'm really going to enjoy at least stretches of this season.
  14. He was great on Saturday. I agree that people are imagining all these times he was "out of position and made up for it with his pace". Even the "mistake" that led to the Gosling chance, he tackled the ball against a Bournemouth player, then Amavi tackled the ball into Gosling's path. Both tackles prevented clear shots at goal but also combined to create their best chance. I think it'd be harsh to criticise either player. It's fun watching Clark and Richards going around clattering people.
  15. I'd like to see Tony Cascarino's FM stats. Heading - 11 Finishing - 6 Being a Complete F***ing Moron - 21
  16. Day after hopefully Yeah. That way he can't play for the next four months but we still get to pay his wages. Back of the net.
  17. 16 remains free in case Fabian changes his mind again.
Gabby: Ummmmm..... Gabby: Yuh defitly ya know muhsingboal foasseming u an ngweejitul frilly. Guzan/Clark/Baker/Hutton/Richards/Westwood/Grealish/Sinclair/Bunn/Sherwood/Wilkins:Ummmmmm....
  19. ---------------Guzan------------ -Hutton--Richards--Clark--Amavi- --------Westwood----Gueye------- ------------Veretout------------ -Ayew------------------Sinclair- ---------Kozak/Gestede---------- The back four does not look solid at all. I doubt whether Hutton will be able to maintain the form he showed last season and Richards at CB is obviously a risk. But he WILL be playing there, people suggesting we move him to RB and sign a replacement are mad. He just signed five minutes ago with assurances he'd play CB. Hopefully he and Hutton can push on and prove everyone wrong. The midfield three picks itself I would have thought. Ayew will be a starter and if Grealish and Gil aren't ready then Sinclair is a good alternative. Kozak might get a chance on Saturday. I haven't seen him play pre-season but if he's done well then fair enough. If we sign Adebayor today or tomorrow I'd expect him to play. Someone mentioned his lack of pre-season, surely he's been training at Spurs?
  20. That would explain why I'm basically only friends with other ghosts. Having watched this and other videos I'm going to put my neck on the line and say he's naturally right-footed. Watch from 1.00, he controls with his right when his left would have been easier and the way he dribbles with his right subsequently looks natural to me. http://youtu.be/sCoXj8kRa8I?t=61 He seems to tackle with his right a lot too. His left foot is very good, mind.
  21. Don't you know? He's an arachnid. He is 3 right and 2 left leg dominant. So how come he ended up left back and not, say, living in a box in my attic?
  22. Can someone who has seen him play please confirm or contradict my earlier suspicions that he's naturally right-footed? I haven't slept in over a week.
  23. Strange one. He's better than Baker and Senderos certainly but I'd rather see Clark starting. I certainly wouldn't like to see Clark leave. Remember when he scored that goal against us at Goodison and ran over and pretended to throw his shirt into the Villa fans. I do.
  24. "Who needs Benteke, we've got Rudy instead" is great. Although I'd prefer if he was a CM so we could sing it about Delph. That way I'd be happy singing it and not actually weeping inconsolably.
