  1. I really, REALLY doubt that the club would be stupid enough to sign him if there was any chance of him being convicted. Coriolanus.
  2. Have you been reading Moneyball? So what if he got eight assists from play? For all you know half of them could have been ten yard passes to feet. His general play was atrocious - my Liverpool supporting friends think he's one of the most useless players they've seen at the club. Need I remind you that his performances in the middle of the park (the most important position on the pitch) contributed to one of the most successful clubs in world football finishing 8th in the league, their worst finish for 18 years. I really don't see how anyone could claim that he's better than any of our midfield. He's like an older, much fatter, much slower Barry Bannan, and Bannan can't get a start for us. Ireland, KEA (from the little I've seen of him) and Gardner are all better options for us at the moment. He did well at a small club for a season in the Championship and then one more in the Prem, and then he moved to a proper club and got found out. I'm not batting for Charlie Adam per se, but I'm just pointing out that he simply provided more assists than any other Liverpool player. Im not saying anything about the "quality" of the assist, just stating the number. Yes he helped Liverpool to their worst finish in 18 years, but he at least helped them finish as Hugh as they did more than any other midfielder. My comment about our midfield was to say that none of them had these stats in them from last season. As for your 'Liverpool supporting mate', well that means nothing really. We're all Villa fans on here but look at the divide in opinion on Stephen Ireland. Charlie Adam is clearly better at this stage in his career than Gary Gardner, and performed better at Blackpool than Bannan did when he was there. I still stand by the fact that he created more goals last season than any of our players and is only 26, so not as useless as some say. Liverpool supporting friendS. Plural. Your point is a valid one all the same, but having said that I really don't think you could find any Liverpool fan who rates Adam. I should clarify that I don't think Gardner is a better player right now, I just think that we would be better served giving him an extended run in the team rather than signing someone like Charlie Adam. I'm not surprised he created more goals than any of our players last year. If my memory serves me correctly we didn't actually launch a solitary attack under McLeish.

  4. You're right. Bent is good. Wenger's type seems to be "bad".
  5. In that case we'll throw in Alan Hutton and charge £8m for the lot. SUCKAH!!!!!!
  6. That's unrealistic. Warnock is worth at least -£2m. £13m total.
  7. 32 years old, lazy, stroppy and is on £120k per week. No way would I want him here He has a lazy style. He doesn't have to be a grafter to play the role he plays. And I wouldn't say he's especially stroppy either. He has every right to be pissed off with Ferguson following his non-selection for the CL final. I think it's moot anyway, I'd imagine he'll end up at a CL club. I'd like to see us try though.
  8. We should do everything we can to sign Berbatov. He's a bloody genius.
  9. Didn't El Ahmadi wear the number 8 for the Burton friendly? Pre season numbers mean nothing. He is number 8 on offical website. Link Wouldn't go by them until official release, would expect Lowton or Lichjah or a new RB to pick the number 2 off Hutton, Delfouneso and Holman have also been assigned the same number according to that.. Matt Lowton will be number 34 this coming season. Matt Kendrick said so. Who knows, maybe he likes that number?
  10. played twice, he might have been the guy that Krohn-Delhi made a mug of for the Denmark goal You're absolutely desperate to put this guy down before he's even started. Why? If he signs ill back him all the way, I just dont rate him personally and think he is not worth the 6-8million being touted felt the same way about Collins, Cuellar and Daives and sadly was proven right Not sure if I'd lump Collins in with Cuellar and Davies. He was actually brilliant alongside Dunne in his first season. Although it obviously didn't work out under Houllier or McLeish.
  11. Id prefer it if he was lying on a wooden pallet, thats more reliable.
  12. A goal from a corner in there  I don't understand. Let me help. You see, occasionally, when awarded a corner, a team will assign a player to send in a ball that a member of the same team can intercept and put into the opposing team's goal, either with his head or with his boot. As a fellow Villa fan I found this hard to believe at first, but the person who told me about it assured me it does happen.
  13. A goal from a corner in there  I don't understand.
  14. The bible that is Football Manager has his acceleration at 14 and pace at 13. His agility is 10 though (out of 20 for those who don't know). Not that bad I guess. Having made this ridiculous post now it's gonna turn out that it wasn't him in that picture! What's his influence rating? We need a skipper!
  15. In fairness he did used to play for Feyenoord. True although he never made a competitive appearance for them according to Wikipedia.
  16. Holman came from AZ. Bit worried if it is Vlaar to be honest, from what I've seen of him he turns like an articulated truck.
  17. Okay then, what are they all doing wandering around Villa Park on a Sunday? This bloke LOOKS at least 40: How am I supposed to know? All I said is that they don't look anything like Ramis or de Jong. I don't think Ramis looks that old but it really doesn't matter because that very clearly isn't him in the photograph on page 118.
  18. I wasn't really a fan of the away kit at first but it looked really well on SSN last night. Goes to show what a difference wearing the proper size makes. I still can't understand what the blazes they were trying to achieve at the original photo shoot when all the players were wearing massive, ill-fitting shirts.
  19. The guy in the white from page 118 is at least 40. The guy in the blue shirt and jacket also looks about 40, and looks nothing like Ramis or de Jong. Snodgrass is a good shout for the chap in the hoody.
  20. Bent named captain today. Kendrick says he heard that he had volunteered for it.
