  1. Exactly. I get the same sense of wanting another shot at the ball that got me out that I do in real life.
  2. I just spat my oats everywhere and it was only the first line. Quality
  3. Apart from the runout bugs that will soon be patched, I've been at fault every time I've gotten out through poor timing, shot selection, or execution. I've improved a bit since that post but it's still very difficult Hard to learn, harder to master
  4. Okay i've spent a few hours in career mode this morning as a bat, having only bowled a few overs. First impressions: - Wow it's absolutely brutal The learning curve is an absolute cliff. A lot of the time you stuff up and get out. Sometimes you do nothing wrong and get miraculously caught and bowled. It feels like real cricket in that sense. - There are some frustrating issues. Bowlers are brick walls and are basically impossible to drive past. Railgun armed fielders combined with the lack of bat sliding means ridiculous runouts happen all the time. I think they are patching this but it's frustrating as hell. There's no urgency when you cancel a run either so every 2nd game you or your partner will be run out meandering back to your crease after a cancelled run. - The player creation has the best face moulding tools I have ever seen in a videogame. It even smashes the WWE games out of the park. Usually with this sort of thing, regardless of how deep the creation is, every face has a similar look to it. Not in this game. You can make anyone dead on. I really wish I could export my career mode character to a general created player some how, because it is the spitting image of me, it's amazing. - Obviously graphics take a back seat to gameplay, but it looks gorgeous. It looks and feels like cricket when you are playing. - The stick based batting is the best thing that has ever happened to a cricket video game. It will make the game endlessly replayable. Brilliant. This is the greatest cricket game of all time. It's also presented really beautifully.
  5. Sting only turned heel after WCW took their nosedive. I don't remember Foley as a heel but I'm. sure he was earlier on. A really charismatic presence can do both heel and face equally well and still be incredibly popular, look at the Rock and Austin. I know it's not a fair comparison but the only current big name who can do heel or face really well is CM Punk and he's gone.
  6. Cena needs a heel turn/character change more than any wrestler in the history of wrestling has needed a heel turn/character change. Even when his gimmick was new a decade ago it was the most boring mary-sue piece of garbage ever.
  7. Holy crap this is great. Now scouring ebay... I feel like I could pull this off even as a 27 year old man who hasn't watched Wrestling regularly in like 7 years.
  8. If you feel threatened, and you are using reasonable force proportionate to the threat, go ahead. If it's 3 on 1 you'd be far better off running though i'd suggest. If you had to whack him to get away, that's fine.
  9. We might not get relegated but any talk of "progress" can go and **** itself when we're losing to a relegation rival at home and playing such dire football. We are not better in any meaningful way than we were last year, we've just had a few lucky results against the top sides and it's been basically business as usual against sides we should be beating.
  10. You'd like to hope that eventually the bubble will burst, but it's so hard to see where that comes from.
  11. I'm quite partial to M'Vila in a Villa shirt But that's just because I bought him in my FIFA 13 manager career mode. I also bought Aguero and Bale.
  12. Great start! Playing the ball around well and got the reward!
  13. Just to further that, it goes for every sort of clothing. Nothing makes an overweight person look fatter than loose fitting clothing. Sure, you don't want something to be painted on that you're bulging out of, but loose fitting just makes you look fatter. You want something that fits properly without a lot of excess material hanging around. I only have Macron's first effort for us, but if the cut for the larger sizes is the same as the cut for the medium with way too much room in the midsection, it will be making overweight people look worse than they are. I have no idea why Macron decide to give their Italian sides a slim fitting shirt and their English sides a really loose fitting shirt, but i'm hoping it's rectified for us by next season. The shirts for Lazio and Napoli are really classy this season.
  14. I do agree with the notion that clubs should only be able to spend what they actually earn so success is earn't rather than bought though. I think if you had FFP in from the start then Chelsea and Man City wouldn't have blown wages up so much and the clubs at the top would be closer to the clubs at the bottom. Agree totally, and it would have been fantastic if this had been brought in 20 years ago when the Premier League first started. As it stands now, the only way to be successful in football is to spend. Now for probably 86 of the 92 teams, winning the premier league isn't even possible if they are bought by a billionaire. The door is closed.
  15. How does this get voted in? It's just a massive glass ceiling over the bottom 14 clubs in the league. It's a rule that "protects clubs from themselves" by stopping them from ever trying to be genuinely successful. **** FFP. As if the pointy end of the table wasn't already reserved for the rich clubs, now it's been legislated in.
  16. I was a stupid kid and it was almost a decade ago and i've changed it on every other forum I frequent but I haven't gotten around to figuring out how to change it here.
  17. I don't agree with this. For example Australia would have had to do a fair bit of development to turn our Oval stadiums into football friendly stadiums for the tournament. But we'd have done so without killing thousands of slaves. FIFA are horrendously corrupt and until a band of bigger countries are prepared to strongarm FIFA into putting the right people into leadership or alternatively, break away from FIFA altogether, nothing will change.
  18. People here are getting it all wrong in regards to slim fitting shirts. Overweight people will look better in a larger sized slim cut shirt than they will in the loose, garbage bag fitting efforts that Macron have produced thus far. People who are in reasonable shape will look much better Just because it's a slim fit design doesn't mean you have to buy a small size. They still make XXXLs in a slim fit design and they're designed for people who would usually wear an XXXL shirt.
  19. We only played British Bulldog at footy training (Aussie rules). As when I played i'd had my growth spurt and most kids hadn't, they'd leave me alone until the end when they could afford to have 4 or 5 of them taking me down. If I started in the middle i'd just tackle the next biggest dudes in order and the game would be over very quickly.
  20. The problem has usually been that it's not big in the big videogame markets, like the US, Japan, China etc. Thankfully India makes it viable. The problem with every cricket game ever is that it takes you about 10 minutes to work out how to bat, then you just belt sixes every ball and there is no challenge. I'm hoping the control system here will fix that.
  21. Road to World Cup 98 had it all. Every. Single. Football. Playing. Nation Think about that for a minute. It was a magnificent achievement and given that the FIFA 14 has like 50 leagues, it surely would be doable in this day and age. Not to mention the magnificently fun indoor football (the fact that it hasn't come back since is some sort of sick joke) and the ability to edit clubs and players It was a multiplayer dream. I'm annoyed just thinking about the indoor football and that it hasn't ever returned. Why do EA hate fun?
  22. Facebook link It was discussed briefly on here after the Ashes Cricket 2013 debacle, but Don Bradman Cricket 14 is finally due out on April 3rd. It features a revolutionary control system where you use one stick for footwork and the other to play the stroke, and a similar exciting new system for bowling. Probably most exciting of all for me, it features a be-a-pro type career mode, which lends itself perfectly to cricket. It's not licenced, but it has an incredibly powerful creation suite that has been available to people for a long time now, so realistic players should be able to be very easily downloaded on the day of release. I can't wait!
  23. World class build up and a finish that most players in the world wouldn't even attempt let alone be able to pull off. Brilliant.
  24. Yeah this made it much easier. First time I tried I got 1003 passengers. Both not having to worry about using upgrade opportunities on tunnels and the fact that the river may as well not be there now made it much easier. I think they should still have tunnels, but make the tunnels able to carry multiple lines. So if you cross 2 or 3 lines at the same point it's only one tunnel
  25. You can get really lucky or unlucky with the placement of stations. If they mix up the placement of the stations well it's quite easy to get 500. Last game I had 6 circles, 1 triangle and 1 star above the river, and only one square on the map, below the river. A decent mix below, but the stations that linked to bridges couldn't handle the squares banking up above the river.
