  1. The idea of getting rid of all players that are not our best 8 is the strangest idea I see at Villatalk. Why must we «bin», «get rid of» «drive away» players that are fully capable of doing a job from the bench when we feel they might not be worthy a starting eleven place game in and game out? Makes no sense.
  2. In his first 12 matches this season he had 1 goal and 0 assists. Last 11 matches, 1 goal and 5 assists. Been our best player by a mile since end of October. Long may it continue!!
  3. He is young, so there will be lots of ups and downs with him. Just remember that will also be the case for Duran when we start to expect him to deliver!
  4. Poor performance again. Should get a breal against Arsenal.
  5. He was bad, yes. But it was Kamara that cost us the match.
  6. I like him, but he cost us the match today.
  7. He was not the problem today. If we are looking for reasons for this loss, we should focus on Kamara, who actually has been our best player the last months.

    Chelsea

Chelsea is probably spreading the signing fees over the contract lenght. A proper piss in the pants to keep warm tactic that will backfire when they have to ged rid of non performing players with high wages and not being capable of fetching book value on the players.
  9. From the article: «When Steven Gerrard arrived, he told me I had two weeks to prove myself but then I barely played 45 minutes.» Typical poor manager that wants to play tough!
  10. Our best attacking player this season. 4 league goals and 3 assists in 1155 minutes. I think he Will Get 10 league goals this season.
  11. Regarding how much I have seen this world cup, I saw 5 min of the England match, 10 min of the opener and 45 minutes of the Portugal match....
  12. Some very interesting numbers from the Norwegian broadcasters after the first matches. Last World Cup, 1.02 million people watched the match in group games between Brasil and Switzerland. So far the numbers are highest in the match between France and Australia. Just 328,000 saw the match on our free national broadcaster. The channel has shown 7 matches with an average of 188,000 viewers. Last World Cup the average for the group games was 521,000 viewers. If this is something we see in more countries, I would say that the combination of WC at the winter and in a place we do not have much faith in regarding human rights will be something the sponsors would notice.
  13. Nyland was having a stinker for Norway. No one understand why he was playing, he hasn't had a club for a long time.
  14. He had a 5 game dry spell last season for Dortmund (I actually thought it was longer because the Norwegian media was hammering on about his dry spell).
  15. He is actually a very nice guy. At least that is the impression I have gotten from the Norwegian interviews and reports of him over the last years. Can be a bit funny and unorthodox when interviewed after the matches, but he has zero superstar acts. Maybe apart from how angry he is at himself or team mates when he/they disappoint. I remember when his father played for City and they had lost 4-0 to Charlton. He actually paid some supporters the gasolin costs as a «i'm sorry» when he met them at a gas station. I really think Haaland may become a legend at City. It's worth to note that Haaland also have some long dry spells with no goals. They will come at City too.
  16. Football is a result oriented business, and we will see how he copes with the next matches, which on paper should yield some results. There is nothing more I hope for than that Gerrard har turned the corner and suddenly found out the team, spirit and tactic. As a side note, I really liked how pumped up our players were towards the end when they won duels and stopped big chances.
  17. I really don't understand the debate. He has played a lot of matches for Norway, both in U-teams and the senior team. I also think he is quite excited with the prospect of playing Euro qualifiers with Martin Ødegaard.
  18. Funny to read the the first pages of the thread.....
  19. After seeing RAWK today, I would say the sentiment of Pool fans is that Gerrard is in trouble and they can't understand why he can't get more out of a decent bunch of players.
  20. And why are the post match interviewer so nice? Seems like he has way too much respect for SG.
  21. There are quality in the squad, so a new manager can easily work with the squad until January and have us in a comfortable position.
  22. That is a good solution. Might get a short term boost for some players the next two matches just knowing a new manager will come, and then hopefully get a name that gives faith and confidence.
  23. I want maximum effect from new manager bounce and not a new manager in when playing far superior sides.
  24. That is why I would wait until next weekend, as the new manager bounce will probably have better effect on other teams than Arsenal and City.
