  1. Think we were okay. On reflection, 5 points from the games we have had is not a bad return.
  2. Very sad news, regardless as to the circumstances. My favourite player in my first seasons as a Villa fan.
  3. I think he's lacking match fitness, but the signs are good. In the warm up his finishing against Bunn was exceptional.
  4. Great day. There was an intense atmosphere in the stadium. Perhaps filling the other tiers, whilst leaving the top tier of the trinity shut, is a good thing for the atmosphere. As said before, we were excellent. We will play worse teams than Rotherham too this year it is worth noting. Gestede and Ayew were top quality. Bacuna also is doing the right things to get the fans back on side. Special mention to Lee Camp for the brave colour he wore in goal considering the name on the back of his jersey.
  5. A £12mil player in the championship must be like a £25mil player in the premier league by comparison. Guaranteed goals.
  6. Morrison is at last chance saloon to save his career. Character is questionable, but could be a move to suit both parties.
  7. 7 points from opening 3 games. Followed by very satisfying late transfer activity. Top 2 for remainder of season. We wonder what the whole fuss was about.
  8. Good point. Well I'm not there this Saturday, but why not. There's no beef.
  9. A nice guy, a good move for all parties. As said plenty of times before his confidence was shot, and became a liability. There is a half decent keeper there, and it's not for a lack of effort. I shall clap him if we come across him in the future.
  10. I think this is right. I was at Bristol Rovers, and while there was some lighthearted banter with Sinclair, some of the stuff shouted at Lescott during his warmup was really cutting. There were plenty of boos and jeering too during the game. Not the majority by any means, but the voices were loud. I was left in no doubt that he has no future at the club, regardless of how he applies himself this season.
  11. I am under the impression we may see only 3 more incoming players. A striker, and two midfielders (one to replace Gana). It seems pretty clear that RDM really rates Green and Hepburn-Murphy, and will give them chances this season. I have no problem with this as I think both are already at championship level, and will only get better. I really have no clue as to whether the squad is capable of winning the league or are mid table certs, it's quite strange.
  12. Has natural ability, but a bit telling that none of the handful of managers he had here really fancied him. Always thought he was comparable to the guy who does kick ups in European city centres, very talented but not made for top level competitive football.
  13. Just announced. Great signing for this league.
  14. I saw today that it is definitely UA with the logos on display in the city centre shop. I hope they are paying us nicely.
  15. I do wonder how much convincing the coaches need to leave Lyon to join us in the first place.
  16. Will be interesting how the players respond on Wednesday night. A 2-0 win or a 5-0 drubbing, most likely. Garde in for Spurs hopefully.
  17. Fair call there I think. Regardless of it being Gabby, Ayew or Gestede, I'd be disappointed if we don't win this by a couple given the relative strength of our offensive wide players.
  18. Perhaps twisted logic, but I'd fancy pace against their back line and wouldn't be totally against Gabby up top in this game.
  19. Looking forward to the Utd game to put some points between us, with Chelsea and Citeh playing each other. Given our fantastic record against them over the last few years, I'd expect us to give them a footballing lesson frankly.
  20. Dropped down the table this weekend. Disappointing.
  21. I imagine he'd love to go to the MLS given the inflated wages and how his customised Range Rover would fit in over there. It does look as though his career is going the way of Michael Johnsons though, albeit with different circumstances.
  22. Pretty hopeful that Benteke will have an even better season this year, but think we may see more goals from Weimann and Agbonlahor as a result rather than from Benteke himself, given how defenders will double up on him.
  23. As much as Ireland frustrates me and want rid of him, you just know if anyone was cavalier enough to buy him you know he would play out of his skin against us.
  24. Hutton has moments where he looks half decent, but they are usually last gasp tackles which he has forced himself to make. Strangely I dont think he is a lost cause yet.
