I think its a bit harsh to be overly critical on Bannan, hes still relatively young remember. He should not be relied upon to be such a key member of the squad IMO.

We are unbelievably poor. On the balance on games since November time we probably deserve to go down. I know the injuries excuse has been wheeled out a fair bit, but are we really all that depleted? We were poor with Petrov, Dunne and Bent.

I like Lerner, have always appreciated what he has done for us in the past, BUT he really has to act now. Whether its to speak to the fans to reassure us, or get rid of McLeish, so be it.

I thought Herd was outstanding yesterday. Agbonlahors brilliant display kind of nearly made us forget about his contribution. There was about 10 minutes at the end of the first half where he completely bossed the game and mopped up Huttons problems.

Welcoming reception, but I dont think it would be appropriate to sing his name yet. I think he will be a success given time, but I just pray we dont go 1-0 down in this game as I can see it turning ugly from some quarters.

I would like to see Gardner in the squad but I think McLeish would have to drop one of Ireland, Albrighton, Bannan, Makoun or N'Zogbia, out of the 18. I think once one of those gets a knock we will see Gardner on the bench.

Looking forward to this game and our traditional three points from them. I think it will be the same as last week with the exception of Heskey for Ireland/Bannan. Just counted the amount of free seats on the OS ticketmaster thing, and counted 6465 available (not including Blackburns). So I'd have thought it would be a reasonable 37k attendance, which isn't bad considering Blackburn never bring many fans and we are out of vogue.

I have to say after largely reading this thread that I'm coming around to the idea of keeping things as is and just integrating Albrighton, Delfouneso and eventually Delph when fit. Risky I know but with all due respect to McGeady, would rather blood Albrighton than pay £8-10mil on someone who could just as easily flop at the level. Ideally I think we all wanted O'Neill to spend a fair few million on a top striker, but if that isn't going to happen lets try Delfouneso, who is fairly universally rated amongst Villa people, as talented. I think the thing we have going for us is that we look nailed on for top 8, the gulf between us and say Blues, Blackburn et al, is quite large.

Hi all, I'm a season ticket holder and usually get the trains from Tiverton for the game but they arent running early enough to get there on Sunday. So I'm planning to drive into a train station on the outskirts of Brum and get a local train to Aston/Witton. Anyway my question is are there any stations that are reasonably cheap and safe enough to park at and close enough to the ground? Cheers.

Stats can prove anything, we do miss Carew and the recent performances have shown that despite the results. We have missed him as an option more than anything, teams know that without him we arent much of a threat in the air going forward.
