I suspect it’ll be picked up by the stadium company as you say. I think they’re relative small fry though. The main advantage was definitely the immediate £50M+ relief on FFP. I have serious doubts the Premier League will ever punish a club under FFP though. It will open the floodgates and ultimately affect the product.

Usually hedge funds charge a fee to all their investors. A management of funds fee or sometimes this can be a percentage of revenues Pension funds etc are happy to pay it because their investments usually yield long term returns beyond what any bank interest would. And it’s easy for them. Hedges are basically the collective funds of investors, the companies effectively make investment decisions for them. Anyone can set one up, but good hedge funds/holding companies are rare. Wes Edens is an exceptionally clever man. Since Fortress was taken over, it is likely Edens is probably working under some contractual arrangement where he is salarised/bonused to the hilt for performance, but he is likely still at the sharp end of deciding where to invest etc. That said, Wes probably also has some money in the Fortress hedge still.

On reflection you are right. They probably would love to play a comparatively massive team like us for the ticket revenues that said. On a serious note, was the Rangers friendly as bad as the reports said, it sounds unbelievable!

Sounds as though the pre-season will mainly be local axed from the FCG notes. would be good to play smaller local midland sides such as Leamington, Walsall, Notts County and Birmingham City…

It’s easy to get caught up in ecstasy after buying a great player for a club record fee, but these guys really aren’t satisfied as being also rans are they? Genuinely never been as excited to be a Villa fan, not even in Lerners first couple of seasons. Nassef and Wes have saved this club.

Saint-Maximin would probably make us the most exciting attacking line up outside the current top 4. Knowing Mike Ashley’s penchant for cash we could probably get him for £40m.
