  1. I think, more than anything, watching McGinn play as well as he has ever done gives me the warm tingles
  2. Well he did pass directly to one of their players on the edge of the box..

    Badgers

Sadly it's a well known practice. The area my brother in law lives in Wales suddenly saw a spike in badger 'roadkill'. It was in fact just badger baiters getting rid of the bodies
  4. Not sure it fits to the tune but nice try
  5. Yep, Archer grabbed the headlines at Boro but Ramsey was a class above. It was noticeable that Boro's form dropped off dramatically once he got injured. No sale, this guy is going to be at least as good as Jacob
  6. In fairness that is the nature of every fan base, not just Villa. Every fan I know, no matter who they support, will tell you two or three of their players are shit
  7. His mistake was not leaving, his mistake was leaving for the wrong club.
  8. Don't trust anyone with numbers at the end of their name...

    Unai Emery

They're not being controversial, just stupid. They read their websites etc. and are told what to think rather than actually look at the facts. I wouldn't worry about it though, we have one of the best managers in the league and we know it.
  10. In fairness I've seen a few non blues websites tipping them for the top six so it's no wonder the fans are starting to believe. I know so little about their squad that I couldn't tell you whether their belief is misplaced or not.
  11. 'Hello darkness, my old friend..'
  12. It's quite possible to be a very unhealthy, junk food vegan! As it's the preserving additives that are the real nasties in processed food I would guess that processed meat is worse but neither are good. Have a veg curry/ Bolognese instead. You'll be surprised how quickly you don't miss either meat or meat alternative
  13. Yep, meat alternatives are probably not yet at a point where it could replace meat for those who don't want to go veg/ vegan but want to do more to help the environment. However, the more people choosing to go sans meat, at least in part, the more money, scientific endeavour and research will go into producing alternatives. Even in the last few years it has become much better. Personally, I don't eat many of the meat alternatives as they are so processed. I managed to convince two of my friends to drop their meat eating in half by suggesting they spend the same amount of money on half the amount of meat, this buying higher quality and less processed crap. It's a step
  14. That is what I mean by 'putting in the hard yards'. It's making those choices that you know will benefit others in the long run even though it may hurt in the short. Hopefully, you have a socially conscious government that helps the worst affected so that those changes can be made It's the difference between doing what's easy and what's right
  15. Easy. Massively cut down on their meat consumption. People eat way too much meat, for both their own health and the health of the planet. Would this be enough on its own to solve the issues facing the planet? No, but making changes as individuals puts pressure on governments to follow suit which then puts pressure on science to come up with alternatives more in keeping with current thinking. It can change the whole out look of the political landscape. If individuals look like they don't care and are unwilling to put in the hard yards then governments will simply push the problems down the line
  16. Yes, but governments and science are only driven by people putting pressure on them to change direction, without that they will do what ever is cheapest and easiest
  17. Yeah, the problem isn't those that deny it but those that acknowledge it but are unwilling to change anything in the personal lives in order to do something about it
  18. Enjoying these guys at the moment. Only a couple of songs out so far, but they're playing at Green Man festival so I shall give them a watch next month
  19. Quite often I've ended up at a festival that The 1975 will be playing at so they'll appear on my festival playlist. The moment, the very moment, their track finishes I will completely forget what they sound like, even what genre they are, and have to listen again. Which then leads to me forgetting once more etc. They've got to be one of the most successful beige bands out there, at least Coldplay have a couple of tunes I can remember!
  20. Did you mention you'd like to DHUTWU? (That's a phrase I've noticed has become increasingly popular on here. Casual misogyny ahoy!)
  21. Well isn't that the truth. For all the issues surrounding the implementation of Ulez the reality is that only with schemes like this that people make necessary changes to their habits. The issue is who is most affected and how to negate the worst problems caused. The Tories will attack the Labour Mayor's on the issue because they know it's a vote winner but in reality they know, should they win the next mayor election, that they will continue down the same road.
  22. Whilst it's fair enough to want neither, I think it's a little unfair to dump them together. Lukaku is on a downward trend due to age and, it would seem, lack of interest Felix has underperformed after a big move but has loads of time to turn it around Emery clearly rates Felix and if we could sign him I think we would
  23. On this theme, but from the other angle, places that don't take cash piss me off. I don't use cash a great deal but hate having the choice being taken away. It freezes certain parts of society out. One of my local bars doesn't take cash since COVID so I just don't go there, even if I'm paying by card.
